PROJECT: This Project was the second project during my spring semester in Copenhagen. The
assignment was to create a food culture house that combines the program elements of a pubic food
market, an exhibition space that can be used for demonstrations or exhibitions, and cooking school
where people can take classes to learn cooking skills.

PROJECT: This Project was the first project


during my spring semester in Copenhagen. The
assignment was to create small scale modular
student housing with a major wood element. There
is a huge housing crisis in Copenhagen so we
used an empty space on the developing harbor
near a few universities to place student housing.
The idea was to create a system, that could be
arranged in multiple ways and eventually used in
other places to combat the housing crisis.

DESIGN COMPETITION

These cushions and frame take inspiration


from the Rwandan culture and the needs of a
community in the Karambo River Region of
Rwanda. The can be rearranged to meet whatever
needs they have at the time. Allowing them
to sit, carry, read, relax, lounge, write, gather,
socialize, and even sleep during or after a hard
days working to improve the living conditions.

The textile was created using a technique called


wax batik which is used in Rwanda. Most simple
the process involves stamping or painting wax
on to fabric the dying it. The wax prevents
the dye from bonding to the fabric in those
specific places and when the wax is removed
a pattern is left through the voids in the dye.
