GeneralRequirements

SECTION 1- GENERALREQUIREMENTS
1.1 ENTRYONTOTHESITE

1. Prior to the commencement of operations, OceangGold Phils Inc. shall supply to the
Contractor the names and addresses of relevant owners and occupiers. The
Contractor shall notify OGPI in writing in advance of his intention to start work within
each area of ownership or occupation.

2. The Contractor shall keep records of the dates of his entry onto and departure from all
property and lands of each owner and occupier, together with the dates of the
erection and removal of allen closures, and shall furnish copies of these records
when required by OGPI. He shall keep and furnish copies of similar records in
respect of roads, foot paths and thorough fares.

3. The Contractor shall obtain all necessary permits and licenses from the local
government unit or other public or private authorities concerned for the proper
implementation of the Contract. Any payments or deposits for such permits and
licenses shall be borne by the Contractor

4. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining and servicing site compound, which
shall be of sufficient size to accommodate OGPI’s site office, and the Contractor’s
own office and storage requirements. The Contractor shall provide OGPI with full
details of its proposals for review.

5. All temporary buildings the Contractor proposes to erect on site shall be subject to the
approval of OGPI in respect of size, construction and position.

1.2 SURVEY OF HIGHWAYS, PROPERTIES,LANDS AND CROPS

1. Where appropriate,MWCshallarrange forsurveystobe carriedout,in conjunction


withtheContractorandtheHighwayAuthority,ownersoroccupiers,properties,
landsandcropswhichmaybeaffectedbytheWorks. Twosetsofphotographs
datedandtitledshall bemade.

2. Before any workaffectingsuch highways,properties,lands orcrops iscommenced,


theContractorshallconfirminwritingto MWC thatthe relevantsurvey isatrue and
accuraterecordoftheir condition.

3.Asurvey,includingapictorialrecord,oftheconditionofthesite priortothe commencementof


any worksshall bemade bythe ContractorandagreedbyMWC.

1.3 SITE FENCING

1. Wherethe typeand locationsoftemporarysitefencingaredescribed inthe Contract,


theContractorshallerectsuch fencingassoonasheisgivenpossessionofthe
relevantportionoftheSite. TheContractorshallregularlyinspectand maintainall
suchfencing,anydefectsbeingmadegoodwithoutdelay. Accessshall beprovided
intemporarysitefencingasnecessaryforthe useoftheoccupiersofadjacentlands.
Temporary site fencing shall remain in position until either it is replaced by
permanentfencingorthe Worksaresufficientlycompletedtoenablethatportion of
theSitetobebrought into use.

2. Fences tocompoundsin highwayshall have lightsat thetopofeachfence post.

1.4 LEVELS AND REFERENCE POINTS

1. The Contractor shall supply to MWC details of the value and location of the
temporarybenchmarks andreferencepoints,whichheproposes to use. Temporary
benchmarksshall be located within60 mofthe Siteandshall have the agreedvalue
recordedonthem.

2. TheContractorshallsatisfyhimselfthat theexisting groundlevelsasindicatedin the


Contractarecorrect. ShouldtheContractorwishtodisputeanylevelsheshall
submittoMWCascheduleofthe positionofthelevelconsideredtobe in erroranda setof
revisedlevels. Theexistingground relevanttothedisputed levelsshallnotbe disturbed
before MWC’sdecisionastothecorrect level isgiven.

1.5 ACCOMMODATIONFORTHESITEMANAGER

1.TheContractorshallcleanandmaintain,untilthecompletionofthe Works, accommodation


forMWCasdescribedintheContractSpecificDocument. Offices
andotheraccommodationshallbeerected,furnished,equippedand ready for
occupationandusewithin7daysofthe WorksCommencementDate,andfully
servicedwithin 28daysofthat Date.

2. Where movableofficesarerequiredby theContract,theseshallberelocated from


timetotime as directedbyMWC.

3. WheretheContractrequirestelephone facilities forMWC,suchfacilitiesshallhave separate


connectiondirecttoapublictelephoneexchangewithprivacy of conversationforMWC.

4. MWCOffice. Theofficeshallbeinstalledonadequatefoundationsinanapproved
positionwithin thesitecompound shown on theDrawings.

Thefollowingutilities and services shall beprovided bytheContractor:

Electricity,potablewater,separatedirect telephoneline,a fouldrainagesystemand


anadequatemeans fordisposalofrainwaterfromroofsandpavedareas. Awash pointshall
beprovided outside the offices.

Alltemporarysewerage facilitiesshouldbeconnectedtothepublicfoulsystem. Where


thisisnotfeasible,asealedtankwithoutanoverflow shallbeprovided. The Contractorshall
make allthenecessaryarrangements requiredtocomplywith national and
localregulations.

Theofficebuildingshallbeinsulated,linedinternallyandbe fully fittedincludingfull height


internal partitions, lockable internal doors, windows, opening lights with security
shutters,plumbing,powerpoints, fluorescentlighting,withsuitableceiling, floorand
wallfinishes. The Contractorshallprovideanadequatesupplyof consumables and shall
arrange for the MWC office and movable offices to be cleaned daily.

Airconditioningwillberequired forallroomsoffloorareaof16m 2andgreaterwithin


MWC’soffice

Appropriatefire fightingequipmentshallbeprovidedandmaintainedina serviceable


conditionbytheContractor.

Thedimensionsgivenbelowareindicativeofthe minimum requirementsand permission


forminorvariationsinorder thatcommerciallyavailablepre-fabricated buildings
maybeused will notbeunreasonably withheld.

Theofficebuildingshallbepartitionedinternally toprovidethe followingroomswith


floorareasmeasuredinsquaremetresnot less than thoseshown:

detailedbelow shallbeprovided fortheuseofMWCasappropriateto theofficetype stated
intheContractSpecific Document.

5. Within thirty (30) calendar days following the issuance of the Certificate of
Completion, theContractor shall,withMWC’s approval,removeall temporary facilities.

6. Reinstatement. Uponcompletionofthe Worksandremovaloftheaccommodation


theareaofanysiteofficesshallbe fully reinstatedto astandard nolessthan that
appertainingprior to commencementofthe worksunless shownotherwiseinthe
documents.

1.6 BILLPOSTINGANDADVERTISING

1. TheContractorshallnotundertakeorallowbillpostingoradvertisingofanykind upon
theWorkswithoutthewrittenconsent ofMWC.

1.7 INTERFERENCEWITHLANDINTERESTS

1.TheContractorshallconfinehisconstructionaloperationswithintheSite,orsuchotherareas of
landasmaybenegotiated,andshallinstructhisemployeesnottotrespass.

2. Subjecttoanyunavoidabledisturbance,whichmaybenecessitated bytheexecutionofthe
Contract,theContractorshallnotinterferewithanysporting,fishingorotherrights,which
maybeenjoyedonorneartheSite.

3.Beforeexercisingany rightnegotiatedby himinconnectionwithwayleavesor


accommodationoutside theSite,theContractorshallnotifyMWCinwritingofsuch
arrangements.

4. TheContractorshall not bepermittedto bringanimalsontothesite.

1.8 INTERFERENCEWITH ACCESSTOPROPERTIESANDAPPARATUS

1. Before interfering with access to any property, the Contractor shall provide
alternativearrangements. The ContractorshallnotifyMWCand therelevant
occupiersinwriting14 daysinadvanceofanysuchinterference andshall confirm to
MWCthatalternative arrangementshave been agreed.

2. TheContractorshall not obstructaccesstoanymanhole orother surface cover.

1.9 PROCEDUREFORCOMPLAINTSANDCLAIMSFORDAMAGE

1. Detailsofallclaimsorwarningsofintendedclaims,whichtheContractormayreceivein
respectofmattersagainstwhichisrequiredbytheContracttoindemnifytheEmployershall
benotifiedwithoutdelaytoMWC,whoshalllikewisepasstotheContractor anysuchclaims
orwarningswhichmaybesubmitteddirectlyto MWCorEmployer.

2. Asimilarexchangeofinformationshallalsobe madeinrelation toallcomplaints, which


maybereceived.

3. TheContractorshallnotifyMWCinwritingimmediatelyfollowinganydamageor
injuryarisingoutof theexecutionoftheWorks.

1.10 PROTECTIONAGAINSTDAMAGE

1. The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to avoid causing any
unwarranteddamageto roads,properties,trees andotherfeaturesand,duringthe
currency oftheContract,shalldealpromptly withany complaintsby ownersor occupiers.

2. Whereanyportionofthe Worksisclose,across,orunderanyexistingfacilities,the
Contractorshall temporarilysupportandworkround,underoradjacent toall facilities ina
mannerdesigned to avoiddamage,leakage ordanger,and to ensure
uninterruptedoperation.

3. Shouldanyleakageordamagebediscovered,theContractorshallat oncenotify
MWCorownerconcerned,asappropriateandtheContractorshallaffordevery facilityfor
therepair orreplacement ofthefacilitiesaffected.

1.11 FACILITIES,HIGHWAYAUTHORITIESANDOTHERS

1. The Contractdrawingsindicateswhatarebelievedtobe the positionsoftheexisting


facilitiesclosetothe Works,butnowarrantyisgivenastothe accuracyor completeness
ofthisinformation. Inparticularnoserviceconnectionstoindividual properties areshown.

2. The accepted programofWorksshallshow informationnecessarytoenableMWC to


arrangeforalldiversions,orremovals,ofexistingfacilitiesdescribedintheContract to
becarriedoutat theappropriatetime.

3. TheContractorshallliasewithallrelevantutility agenciesandotherownersofthe
existingfacilitiesbefore commencinganyexcavationsandshallsatisfyhimselfasto
theexactpositionofexistingfacilitieswhichmayaffectorbeaffectedby the constructionof
theWorks.

4. TheContractorshallnotifyMWCinadvanceofany diversionor removalofexisting


facilities,whichhemay require forhisownconvenienceorbecauseofhisproposed
methodofworkingand shallcomplywithany requirementsofMWCwithrespectto them.

5. Shouldanyfacilitiesfoundtoexistwhichisnotindicated,ornotasindicatedinthe
Contract, theContractor shall atoncegive writtennotification toMWC.

6. TheContractorshallcomplywiththerequirementsofanypublicorprivatebody whose plant,


facilities or equipmentisaffectedbytheWorks.

7. TheContractorshallconsultwiththerelevantbodypriorto the removalofany


services,whichareeitherindicatedasbeingabandonedonthe drawingsorwillbe
maderedundant byservice diversions arrangedbyMWC.

1.12 TRAFFICREQUIREMENTS

1.TheContractorshallcomplywiththe relevantordinancesofthe MetroManila


DevelopmentAuthority(MMDA)andtherequirementsofDPWH and the police. The
Contractorshallalsocomplywiththelegitimate requirementsofanypublicorprivate
body(barangayetc.) upon whose land theworksareto becarriedout.

2. Before any work in or affecting the use of any highway is commenced, the
Contractor’sproposed methodofworkingshallbeagreedwith,andconfirmedin
writingtoMWC andother government agencyconcerned.

3. Throughouttheexecutionofthe Worksandtheguaranteedperiod,theContractor shall


cooperate with the relevant government agencies concerning works in, or access to
thehighway. The ContractorshallinformMWCofany requirementsof,or
arrangementsmade.

4. WheretheWorkstemporarilynecessitatesthediversionofanyexistingcarriageway, footway
or public right of way, the Contractor shall provide and maintain an alternative,which
shall beoperational before interferencewith theexistingway.

5. Whererampsare required,theyshallbeprovidedandmaintainedtoastandard suitable inall


respectsfor theclassorclassesoftrafficorpedestriansusing them.

6. TheContractorshalltakeallreasonablestepstopreventvehiclesenteringand
leavingtheSitedepositingmudorotherdebris onthesurfaceofadjacentroadsor
footways,and shall remove expeditiouslyanymaterial so deposited. In particular the
Contractorshall onlywashdownplantand machinerywithin thedesignatedsite
compound.

7. NoContractor’ssiteemployeesprivatevehiclesaretobeparkedonthehighway.
TheContractorshall arrangeoff-streetparking forhisemployee’sprivatecars.

8. Wherethevolumeoftrafficand/orparkedcarsimpedetheprogressoftheWorks,
theContractorshallbringthis to the noticeofMWC,and continue with the next available
portionof theWorks.

1.13 TIDINESSOFSITE

1. TheContractorshall beresponsible for the tidinessoftheSite inaccordance with the


ConditionsofContract.

1.14 WORKSAFFECTINGWATERCOURSES

1. TheContractorshall notifyMWC inwriting14daysin advance ofhisintention to start


atanypartof theWorksaffectingawatercourse,canal orlake.

2. TheContractorshallbe responsibleformaintainingwatercourseswithintheSitein effective


workingconditionat all times.

3. The Contractor shall take all practicable measures, which shall be to the prior
approvalofMWC, topreventthedepositionofsiltorothermaterialin,and the pollutionof,any
existingwatercourse,canal/sewer,lake, reservoir,borehole,aquifer orcatchment
area,arisingfromhisoperations.

4. Concretingwithinawatercourse shallonly takeplaceafter separationoftheworking


areabyabund. Alternativelythewatercoursecanbediverteddownatemporary
courseforthedurationofthecrossing. Thefirstflushofwateroverastructure
constructedofconcreteorcontainingcementitious material will requiretreatment.

5. Priortocommencinganyworkonsite,theContractorshallconsultwithMWC, the
EnvironmentAgency (EA)andlocal governmentunitsandDepartmentofPublic
WorksandHighways(DPWH),inrespectofany measuresnecessaryto protectthe
landdrainage waterresources,water qualityand/orfisheriesinterestsandobtainall
necessaryconsentswithrespecttohis methodofworking,temporarydischarge from
thesite, etc.

1.15 CONTAMINATIONOFWATERSUPPLIES

1. Before any person is engaged on work described in the Contract as involving


‘restrictedoperations’,heshallbenotifiedoftheneedforpersonalhygieneandthe

dangersofcontamination,shallcompletea medicalquestionnaireprovidedbythe
Employerand,wherethereisaneed,shallbetestedtoindicatethatheisnota
carrieroftyphoidorotherwaterbornedisease. TheContractorshallnotify MWCof any
person who has been certified by a doctor as suffering from an illness
associatedwithloosenessofthebowels,andnosuchpersonshall beemployedon
suchworkuntiltheEmployer’smedicaladviserissatisfied thatitissafeforhimtobe so
employed.

2. WhenundertakingconnectionsintoexistingwatermainstheContractorshalltake
suchmeasuresasarenecessary topreventingressofwaterintothe watermain. MWCshall
beinformedimmediately ifany ingressofwater takesplace.

3. Immediately prior to makinga connection,a solutionof20 ppmchloros(sodium


hypochlorite)shall besprayed:-

i) insideand outsidetheexistingpipework
ii) intoand outsidethenewpipeworkwithin theexcavation iii)
aroundtheexcavation

4. Whenundertakingworkinreservoircatchments,adjacent towatercoursesoraround
existingwatertreatment facilities,theContractorshalltake measures toensure that
watersupplies (either rawortreatedwater)donotbecomecontaminated.

5. Whenundertakingworkinreservoircatchments,adjacent towatercoursesoraround
existingwatertreatment facilities,theContractorshalltake measures toensure that
watersupplies (either rawortreatedwater)donotbecomecontaminated.

In particular:

i) Refuellingofplant shallbecarriedoutadjacent to thefuelstorage areas


ii) Whereplantwillbetraversingsteepslopes,fueltanksshallbefilledtosuch levels that
fuelcannot overflowfrom thetanks.

1.16 SAFETYINSEWERS ANDATSEWAGEWORKS

1. Wherethework willinvolveentryor workonsewers or at sewageworks,the


Contractor’sConstructionSafetyandHealthProgramshallinclude fulldetailsofthe
relevantsafetymeasuresitproposestoimplement.

2.The Contractor’ssafetypolicyshall,asa minimum,complywithMWC’sown


proceduresforsafeworkinginconfinedspaces,sewersandsewageworks. Details ofthese
will be made available to theContractor on request.

1.17 EMERGENCYARRANGEMENTS

1. The Contractor’ssubmittedsafetypolicyshalldetailarrangements tobe madein the


eventofanemergencyarising.

2. The Contractor shall acquaint himself and his employees with any relevant local
arrangements,whichare in existencefordealingwithemergencies.

3. TheContractorshallmakethenecessaryarrangementwith hospitals andmedicalclinics that


willgivemedicalattentiontosuchemergencies.

1.18 EXPLOSIVESANDDANGEROUSSUBSTANCE

1. Noexplosiveorotherdangerous substance shallbebroughtontotheSiteorusedforany


purposeunlesstheContractorhaspreviouslyobtainedthe writtenapprovalof MWC.

2. Thelocationofeachexplosivesmagazineandstoreofanyotherdangeroussubstanceon
theSiteshallbeapprovedin writingbyMW C.

3. The storage of blasting explosives shall be in accordance with the securitymeasures


establishedbytheChiefofthePhilippineConstabulary andtherelevantprovisionsofthe
PhilippineBureauof MinesandMinesSafetyRulesandRegulations.

1.19 ELECTRICITYDISTRIBUTIONONTHESITE

1. AllelectricalinstallationsformingpartoftheTemporary Works,includingsiteoffices and


cabins, shall complywith the relevantprovisionsofthelatestPhilippineElectrical Code
andtherulesand regulationsof relevant nationaland local undertakings includingthe
requirementsofthelocalelectricitydistributioncompany (e.g.
MERALCO)andtelecommunicationscompanies (e.g. PLDT, Globe etc).

2. TheContractor shallsubmit forapprovalbyMWC,fulldetailsofproposedelectrical


installations.Thesubmissionshall beinthefollowing form:

Planshowingcable routes
Design calculationsheets

Electrical installation shall notproceed until approval isobtained.

3. InstallationsshallbetestedinaccordancewithNationalandLocalOrdinancesor
Lawsgoverning theinstallation ofelectrical works.

4. Adistributiondrawingshallbemountedadjacenttothemainsupplypoint. This
drawingshallbe revised asnecessarywhenan extensionormodificationiscarried out.
Thenameand telephonenumberoftheelectricalinstallershallbedisplayedat thispoint.

5. Eachsiteofficeorcabinshallbeequippedwithanisolatingdevice,fittedtothe outsideadjacent
to the main doorway,connected to isolate the wholeelectrical installation within
theindividual officeorcabin.

1.20 DESIGNCALCULATIONS

1. IftheContractoristoberesponsibleforthedesignofallpartofthePermanent Works
theextentofhisresponsibility willbedefinedintheContractSpecific Specification.

2. Fortheelementsof thePermanentWorks forwhichtheContractorhasdesign


responsibility,itshallsubmit2 copiesoffullychecked and signed offcalculationsas
specifiedintheContractSpecificSpecificationto MWC forinformation. Calculations shall
be in English on A4 (210mm x 297mm) or Letter (11"x8.5") paper; full references
anddetailsofanycomputerprogramsused shall begiven.

1.21 DRAWINGS

1. Drawingssuppliedby MWCareaslistedelsewhere intheBid Documents.

2. Drawingssubmittedby theContractorshallbeprovidedonanon-goingbasistoan
agreedscheduleas thedesignproceeds. Theyshallcontainatitleblockofaformat
agreedwithMWC. Drawingsshallbetoscaleandincludeagraphicalscale. All
dimensionsshallbegiveninmetricunits. Allrelevantdrawingsshallshowplant references.
AlldrawingssubmittedbytheContractorshallbefullycheckedand signed off prior to
submission and include the drawings status e.g. Draft/For Approval etc.

3. DrawingssubmittedbytheContractorshallbecategorizedduringthedurationofthe
Contractasfollows:

Design - submittedforreviewandapproval.

Construction- Designdrawingsofapprovedstatusandotherdrawingsusedby
theContractorfortheconstructionoftheWorks (3Nopaper printsshall
besubmittedto MWC)

As-built - Constructiondrawingsincorporatinganychangesmadepriorto
theissueofatakingovercertificate (4Nopaperprintsshallbe
submittedto MWC).

4. Drawingssubmittedby theContractorshallbe preparedina formatreadableby


AutoCAD(latestversion)andshallnotexceedA1size. Amendeddrawingsshall
havetheiramendmentshighlightedby indicatingtheversionnumberwithinatriangle
nexttotheamendment.

5. ThedesigndrawingsandotherinformationtobesubmittedbytheContractorshall be

3. MWCreservetherighttoauditorreviewtheQualityManagementSystemoperated
bytheContractor, orhis Sub-Contractors, particularlyas applied totheContract.

4. TheContractorshallsubmittheinitialversionoftheir Quality Planduringthepre-


commencement stage. The planshall cover, but notlimitedto, thefollowing:

5.TheContractorshallseekendorsementoftheirQualityPlantoMWC prior to
commencingworkonsite. Allsubsequentrevisionsshallbesubmitted toMWC for
comment or information.

1.23 SAFETY

1. TheContractorshallsubmitacopyoftheofthe ConstructionHealthand SafetyPlan


approved by the Bureau of Working Condition, Department of Labor and
Employment, onthedate agreedduring thepre-commencement meeting.

1.24 MAINTAININGFLOWINSEWERS

1. Whentheworkisrequiredon,tooradjacenttoanexistinglivesewer,theContractor must take all


necessarymeasures,including standbyprovision if required, to deal with and
maintaintheflowin thesewersoasnottocausedamageorinconvenience.

1.25 CONTROLOFNOISEANDVIBRATIONFROMTHEWORKS

1. TheContractorshallcarry outtheworkinaccordancewithany enactment relatingto noise.

2. Noiselevelspermissibleduringconstructionaregiveninthetablebelowandareto
bemeasuredat1meterfromthefaceofanynoisesensitivebuilding. Forthe purposes of
thisContract,anoise sensitive building is classedas–

a) Boundarywallsor fenceofasingledomesticdwelling;

2. TheContractorshallsupplythreecopiesofthemanualsforapprovalbyMWC. The periodfor


reviewand approval shall benot less than 3months.

3. TheContractorshallsupplyfourcopiesofapprovedmanualspriortoissueofthe
Taking-over Certificate.

4. Themanualsshall contain asaminimum:

a) Design

i) Design Criteria
ii) Design limitationsanddurabilityconsiderations iii)
Constructionhistory includingsite photographs

b) Location ofServices

i) Details of the location and nature of utilities and services, including


heatingandventilation,emergency/fire fightingsystemsandemergency
escape routes.

c) Requirementsfor Inspectionand Maintenance

i) Itemizationofthoseareasrequiringperiodicinspectionandmaintenance
andfrequencyofsuchinspectionsandmaintenance,includingheating and
ventilation.
ii) Description of hazardous areas and precautions to be taken during
accessto such areas.

d) Materials

i) List and Specification of all materials and products used in the


constructionof thebuildings together withnames, addressesand
telephonenumbersofmanufacturers, suppliersandsub-contractors.

e) GuaranteesandWarranties

i) The Contractor shall obtain copies of manufacturer’s guarantees and


designwarrantiesrelevanttoallbuildingcomponentsandmaterialsused in
theconstruction.

f) Demolitionandreplacement

i) Detailsofanyspecialmeasuresrequiredfordemolitionshallbeprovided
wherepotentialhazardsarebuiltintothe structure,suchaspre-tensioned
beamsor suspendedfloors.

1.27 PLANTOPERATION ANDMAINTENANCEMANUALS

1. RequirementsforPlantOperationsandMaintenanceManuals,ifrequired,shallbe as
specifiedin Mechanical and ElectricalTechnical Specifications.

1.28 SPARESANDSPECIALTOOLS

1. InsufficienttimetoallowtheitemstobeorderedanddeliveredbeforetheWorks aretaken
over,theContractorshallprovidethesparesreference, the manufacturer,
themanufacturer’sreferenceforthespare,thenumberusedinthe Worksandthe
plantreference onwhichtheyareused.

2. Sparessuppliedshallbesuitablypackaged forlongtermstorageinan unheated


storewiththepackagingclearly marked withthespares’referencenumber. Spares shall
be manufacturedfrom thesamematerialsas theoriginals.

1.29 TESTSTOBEWITNESSEDBEFOREDELIVERY

1. TheContractSpecificDocumentlists the tests forequipmentthatMWC requires to


witnessbeforedelivery.

2. All materials to beusedshall beinspectedby MWCbefore deliveryto site.

1.30 DELIVERY

1. Where equipment is to be delivered to site, at least five working days before


equipmentisdeliveredtosite,twocopiesofa writtenapplicationforauthority to
delivershallbesubmittedtoMWC. Theapplicationshallshowtheitemstobe deliveredand
theproposeddeliverydate.

2. Ifdeliveredequipmentisnottobeimmediatelyincorporatedinthe Worksitshallbe
suitablyprotected,packedandstored. Eachpackage shallhavealistofcontentson
itandtwo copies ofthelistssubmittedtoMWC.

1.31 EQUIPOTENTIAL BONDING

1. Itshallbe demonstrable thatequipotentialbondingofequipmentiscarriedoutin


accordancewith thecurrent regulations.

1.32 SANITARY PRECAUTIONANDCONTROL

1. TheContractorshallemploytheservicesofalicensedSanitaryEngineertodirect
andsuperviseallSanitaryEngineeringworkin accordance withtheprovisionsof
RepublicActNo. 1364 known astheSanitary EngineeringLaw.

2. TheContractorshallberesponsiblefor,andshallexerciseallsanitaryprecautions
andcontrolatthejobsitetosafeguardthepublichealthandthelivingconditionsof his men.

1.33 SIGNS

1. TheCONTRACTORshall furnish,erectand maintainMANILA WATERCOMPANY project


identificationsignsfor each working area. All signs shall be placed at
strategiclocationdesignatedbyMWC.

2. Thesignshallbe3MScotchlitereflectivestickermaterialorapprovedequivalent4
feetby8feetinsizeandshallbepostedinfrontoftheconstructionsite.Thesign
shallbeplacedandstickedonaGalvanizedIronsheetgauge#16mountedona steel
frameacceptable toMWC.Layoutplanandotherinformationareshownin
SD_MWC/450/C002.

3. Forpipelayingandotherexcavationactivities,theCONTRACTORshall furnisha3M
Scotchlitereflectivestickermaterialorapprovedequivalent2feetby1.5feetinsize.
Itshallbestickedonaluminumor galvanizedironsheetgauge#16andshallbe
placedandhangon a galvanizedpipe A-Framestructure showninthecontract
drawingSD/WSB/001.Aminimumoftwosignsforeveryonehundredmetersof
openexcavation shall bedisplayedwhile theconstructionisongoing.Additional sign
shallbeplacedon the cornerofeverystreetwherethereischangein thedirectionof
theexcavationactivities.Layoutplan and otherinformationareshownin
SD_MWC/450/C003.

4. TemplatesofMANILAWATERCOMPANYlogoand mascotareattached,
SD_MWC_LOGOandSD_MWC_MASCOT respectively.

5. TheCONTRACTORshallsubmitlayouttoMWCbeforefabricationofanyismade.
TheCorporateDepartmentoftheMANILAWATERCOMPANYshallapproveall layouts.

6. Upon completionofthework, all signsinstalledshall be removedfrom thesite.

7. These signs shallbeseparateanddistinct tothe requirementofthe MMDA,DPWH, LGU,


Police and other safety signs.

1.34 PERSONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT

1.The Contractorshallprovideitspersonnel andvisitorswithappropriatesafety equipment,


such as helmets, safety footwear, gloves, waterproof clothing, dust masksand
safetybelts.Theuseof suchsafetyequipment shall becompulsory.

2. Emergencyequipmentsuchasgasmasks,signalingdevices,flashlightsingood
workingcondition, etc. shall bestoredintheContractor’soffice.

1.35 FIRE PRECAUTIONS

1. TheContractorshallorganizeafirebrigadeequippedforthe fightingofanyfirethat may


breakouton theconstructionsite,in temporary structures,etc. Anadequate
numberoffireextinguishersshall,atalltimes,beavailableateachconstructionsite or
campandshallbemaintainedinsatisfactoryworking order. Fireprotection
facilitiesshallbeofthegas,drypowderorother suitablechemicalorpumpedwater type.

1.36 DUSTABATEMENT

1. Duringtheperformanceofthe workand anyassociatedoperations, the Contractor


shallcarry outproperandefficient measures,acceptableto MWC, to reducedust
nuisanceandtopreventany damage tocrops,dwellingsorcausingnuisanceto persons.
TheContractorshallbeheldliableforanydamageresultingfromdust
originatingfromhisoperations.

1.37 UNIFORM

1. AllemployeesoftheContractorworkingat the siteshallbeinuniformwiththe


followingcolorscheme:

a. Supervisor White

b. Other workersManilaWater Blue

2. The uniform maybe aT-shirt and shall be painted with company’s name and
addressandtheMWClogo.
