Project Title
Starting this course, I knew what to expect, but I didn’t realise the number of things that go into filming
and film editing. I know a lot more to do with filming now, like different shot types and different editing
techniques. My tutor and teachers have helped me use these methods in the most effective way
possible. The interrogation scene and experimenting with different shot ranges really helped my
understanding on how to use the shot types and ranges in an effective way too. The initial Jan
Svankmajer and Lotte Reiniger filming tasks helped me with the idea of stop motion and gave two very
different genres of stop motion.
In this project we must include either a scene where a bomb is stopped, or a scene where someone
saves someone else. I really want top work with the idea of someone saving someone else as, in my
opinion, it has more creative opportunities and is more open to experiments, rather than the bomb
concept. My characters will be a male and a female, a couple. I want to work with the idea that it is a
couple as it makes it more believable. I want to include a kidnapping and an argument between the
couple beforehand. I think this will make the audience watching the film be overwrought. I think the
characters should be dressed usually, but I would like the kidnappers to be in balaclavas. I would like
the first scene to be the argument between the couple, this will be to ‘On Your Own’ by Jorja Smith. The
girl goes on a walk and gets kidnapped. Its late at night.
I will make a daily blog explaining what I’m doing, if I have any new ideas, and how I’m going to achieve
what im going to do that day. I will record how I overcome troubles. This will help a lot in evaluating my
project and showing general progress.
