Type 1: Normal Portland Cement
It is common and used for general purposes in construction, especially when making
precast or precast-prestressed concrete, most of the time it is used unless another type is
needed.
Some examples where it is used: pavements, buildings, and bridges.

Type 2: Moderate Sulphate Resistance

Used for structures or concrete in contact with soil or water (water that contains sulfate
ions), gives off less heat during hydration, and its cost is almost the same as type 1
Examples where it is used: Mat foundations and retaining walls.

Type 3: Hight Early Strength

Usually used when a high strength is desired within 7 days. for example, precast concrete, it
may also be used in emergency construction and repairs, and construction of machine
bases and gate installations. Because it generates a lot of heat, it is recommended for cold
climate regions.

Type 4: Low Heat of Hydration

Used when low heat of hydration is required and that is good to be used in hot climate regions.
However, the cutoff from that is that the strength of the concrete will develop slowly.
This type of cement is used for very large concrete structures like dams

Type 5: High Sulfate Resistance

Used when needed to resist sulphate from the environment like sea water and soil.
