Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
Awareness & Control

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is the transfer of an electrostatic charge between two

objects. This is a very rapid event that happens when two objects of different
potentials come into direct contact with each other. One of the main causes of
device failures in the electronics and semiconductor industry is ESD.
It is possible for electronic devices to be damaged by ESD that is imperceptible to
the human body. This program is intended to shed some light on the sources of
ESD and provides guidelines on the prevention and control of ESD.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The objective of this course is to provide participants with the necessary

knowledge and role of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) in manufacturing
Environment. This course will ensure that participants will able to effectively use
the ESD understanding in daily approach to improve current processes and
control. Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to;
 Understand the concept of ESD
 Capable to apply the basic ESD model on daily work areas.
 Identify week area that requires more precaution respect to ESD.
 Manage ESD program and implementation effectively.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is suitable to All involve in handling and managing Sensitive Item
such as manufacturing /servicing / Storage / Testing and Purchasing sensitive
item.
