EE 384: Digital Signal Processing
Offered to: BSc (EE)
Instructor: Abbirah Ahmed Email: abbirah.ahmed@namal.edu.pk
Year: 3 Semester: Spring 2019
Pre-requisite: Signals and Systems

Aim The course will introduce the students to the description and analysis of discrete time
signals and systems using impulse response, Fourier transform, Z transform and
graphical representation. Based on this description, the students will learn how to design
single and multirate digital filters.

 Ability to think about problems with existing knowledge
 Self assessment

General Policies  Topics and schedule mentioned here are tentative. They may be slightly changed
depending on the interest / pace of class.
 There will be student consultation (office) hours every week
 Additional to disciplinary policies of the department / college, plagiarism will be
strictly dealt with. Cheating any assignment, quiz or exam from any one else
may lead to severe penalty of grade. Violation of rules / involvement in
plagiarism may easily lead you to an “F” in the module, repeat of exam, year, or
expulsion from college.
 Evaluation will be based on all class discussions, handouts, recommended
readings, slides, home works etc.
 Detailed policies will be communicated with passage of time.
