Working with integers is somewhat different from whole numbers because it also includes negative
numbers.
All properties and operations will be same for integers but will differ only in placing sign to answer.
Sign may be positive or negative.
If you are adding or subtracting the integers then sign of larger number will be the final sign. I will
explain the rules for multiplication and division.
Properties of Integers
Closure
Integers have closure property under both addition and subtraction.
Means Integer + Integer = Integer and Integer - Integer = Integer.

Other
Commutative: Integers are commutative for addition but not for subtraction.
To understand this property let us suppose that a and b are integers then
b + a = -5 + 5 = 0.
Associative: Integers are associative for addition but not for subtraction.
To understand this property let us suppose that a, b and c are integers then
(a + b) + c = a + (b + c)
(a + b) + c = (5 + 2) + 4 = 7 + 4 = 11 and also
a + (b + c) = 5 + (2 + 4) = 5 + 6 = 11.
To understand this property let us suppose that a, b and c are integers then
a x (b + c) = (a x b) + (a x c)
a x (b + c) = 5 x (2 + 4) = 5 x 6 = 30 and also
(a x b) + (a x c) = (5 x 2) + (5 x 4) = 10 + 20 = 30.
Multiplication of Integers
If we have two integers and one of which is negative then result will be negative.

Division of Integers
If we have two numbers and one of which is negative then result will be negative.
If both numbers are negative then result will be positive.
Division is not commutative.
Identity
Identity means number which will be operated to original number to get that same number.
