Intended Audience
This manual is intended for:
l Planning engineers
l Network management engineers
l Maintenance engineers
Chapter 1, Product Positioning and Describes the system architecture, positioning, features, and
Features manageable Network Elements (NEs) of the NetNumen U31
(ICT) R32.
Chapter 3, System Functions Describes the functions of the NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32.
Chapter 4, Networking Modes and Describes the deployment scenarios, networking modes, and
Applications networking priority requirements of the NetNumen U31 (ICT)
R32.
Chapter 7, Compliant Standards Describes the standards and protocols that the NetNumen U31
(ICT) R32 complies with.
Conventions
This manual uses the following conventions.
II
Figure 1-1 shows the position of the NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 in the network.
1-1
The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 supports SNMP northbound interfaces. Southbound
communication supports wired TCP/IP network architecture, wireless GPRS network
architecture, and transparent transmission network architecture using the soft base
station technology.
B/S Architecture
To facilitate customers to access and obtain information, the NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32
supports PCs, tablets, and handsets in a B/S architecture.
1-2
Operation Management
The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 can evaluate the mains quality, device failure, site
environment and network health, provide data for and optimize network resources and
energy-saving reconstruction, and offer the financial analysis function for checking and
analyzing operation situations and improving the operation level of users.
Maintenance Management
The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 supports the assessment of battery status for preventive
maintenance, and provides maintenance guarantee by viewing maintenance plans and
maintenance records.
1-3
1-4
The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 hardware components include the server, web clients,
alarm boxes power devices, and optional devices such as the printer, speaker, and backup
device.
l Server
The server is the core of the NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32. It exchanges information
with NEs through links. After performing some functions, it sends the results to web
clients.
Servers can be classified into an application server and a database server by function.
The application server and database server are usually co-located. The application
server can be independently set up for load sharing.
2-1
Depending on the actual situation, the NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 can be equipped
with one server or two servers (active/standby) to constitute a High Availability (HA)
system.
l Web client
A web client can be a PC or handset.
l Power device
The power device types must be supported by the energy EMS.
l Optional devices
An optional device can be a printer or speaker.
l Server
By default, the server is installed on a computer running the Windows operating
system.
l Web client
The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 supports multiple web clients through which users can
maintain and manage NEs.
2-2
In accordance with the connected servers and physical locations of managed NEs,
web clients can be classified into two groups:
à Local web client: The web client and the server are deployed in the same LAN.
à Remote web client: The web client and the server are not deployed in the same
LAN.

3-2
3-3
Daily 350 à Replace the engine oil and the engine oil filter.
Maintenance—I
à Replace the diesel oil filter.
3-4
Note:
When the remaining time for maintaining a diesel generator reaches the predefined
threshold (default value: 30 days), the system generates an alert.
3-5
3-6
l The data backup function protects historical system data, and backs up system
operation data, configuration information, logs, and alarm records.
l The file backup function backs up the version files, configuration files, and files
generated during system operation of the server.
Users can log in to and maintain the NetNumen U31 system. When configuring a new
user, the administrator must assign it to a role, role set, and department.
Figure 3-1 shows the security management relationship model of the system.
3-7
l Login time
It allows configuring the login time of a user, so that the user can log in to the system
only within the specified time period.
3-8
A super administrator can forcibly delete a user to avoid illegal operations and ensure
system security.
l Configuring the IP address of the super administrator
After the IP address is configured, the super administrator can log in to the system
only through this IP address.
l Modifying the passwords of all users
The super administrator can modify the passwords of all users.
l Querying, locking, and unlocking users
The super administrator can determine whether a user is locked or unlocked and set
the unlock time. The system automatically unlocks a user after the unlock time expires.
l Locking a terminal
If a terminal does not perform any operation within the specified time period, it will be
locked to prevent illegal operations. The user must log in to the system again.
The server records user operation information, including the user name, level,
operations, command functions, operated objects, object groups, object address,
operation start time, operation end time, operation results, failure causes, host
address, access mode, associated logs, and detailed information.
l System log
The server records task information, including log sources, levels, and operation start
time.
l Security logs
The server records the user login information, including the user name, host address,
log name, operation time, access mode, and detailed information.
l Login query
You can configure filtering conditions to query logs, save results, and print results.
l Log backup
The system can back up logs that have been stored for the specified number of days
or reach the specified storage capacity in files.

RS232 Access
Figure 4-2 shows the RS232 access method. An energy device accesses the system
through the RS232 interfaces on the SA board of a BTS or Node B. Energy data is
transmitted on the radio network through the data interface that is agreed by the energy
EMS and radio devices. Radio devices only transmit energy data, but do not parse it.
The system allows multiple communication DC power devices to connect to one base
station through a serial concentrator. This connection method is also called "one base
station multiple power devices".
4-2
IP Access
Figure 4-3 shows the IP access method. Energy devices access the system through the
DEBUG interfaces on the CC boards of BTSs or Node Bs. Energy data is transmitted on
the radio network through the data interface that is agreed by the energy EMS and radio
devices. Radio devices only transmit energy data, but do not parse it.

Item Feature
Number of login clients A maximum of 200 clients can log in to the system at the same time.
l Server: 2G to 3G physical memory, alarm pool: 5,000 alarms.
l Server: 4G to 7G physical memory, alarm pool: 20,000 alarms.
Alarm report time TCP/IP networking mode: The alarm report time does not exceed
five minutes.
The device can report alarms actively.
