NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 Product Description

l Mains quality evaluation

The system evaluates the mains quality by measuring the power outage duration and
the number of times that power outage occurs.
In accordance with the distribution map of the power outage duration and the number
of times that power outage occurs of a site, the system calculates the average power
outage duration and the maximum power outage duration. The sites can be ranked. It
is necessary to focus on the areas with poor mains quality and implement preventive
maintenance.
l Device fault evaluation
The system performs statistics on the fault types of the network-wide diesel
generators, including the battery fault, switching-mode power supply fault, site
environment fault, and other faults.
The system ranks areas in accordance with the frequently-occurring faults, which is
helpful for fault cause analysis and fault prevention.
l Site environment evaluation
The system measures the ambient temperature, analyzes the improper distribution of
high-temperature sites and low-temperature sites, evaluates the environmental health
of sites, and optimizes the improper environment.
l Network health evaluation
The system performs statistics on the distribution of the communication interruption
duration, the number of communication failures, Load 1 Low Voltage Disconnect
(LLVD1) duration, and the number of times that LLVD1 occurs. The system also
ranks Top 10 areas by the number of communication failures and the number of
times that LLVD1 occurs. You can determine the network health status of each area,
and focus on the areas with poor network health.
l Network resource statistics
The system performs statistics on power supply usage and battery usage to obtain
the network resource distribution of areas.
l Evaluation of energy-saving reconstruction
The system performs statistics on the fuel efficiency of network-wide diesel generators
to obtain the network-wide Energy Efficiency (EE) value. The system analyzes the
ratio of EE to fuel efficiency of the best site and that of the worst site in each area,
reflecting the energy-saving situations of each area.
l Financial analysis
The system performs statistics on the financial revenues and expenditure of each
area, and analyzes the financial situation of each area.

mode, there is only one NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 server on which all processes are
running. Multiple web clients can log in to the server and perform operations.
The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 system supports the Windows platform, and uses the
networking solution of multiple web clients and a single server. Figure 4-1 shows the
networking solution, where web clients are connected to the server through a LAN or
WAN.

NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 Product Description

4.2 Networking Modes

The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 uses the B/S architecture. Web clients are connected to the
server through a LAN or WAN. The NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 server communicates with
NEs through in-band networking mode, TCP/IP networking mode, or wireless networking
mode.
Four networking modes can be applied to the NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32: in-band
networking mode, TCP/IP networking mode, wireless networking mode, and hybrid
networking mode.

4.2.1 In-Band Networking Mode

The in-band networking mode refers to managing the energy devices of base stations
through the internal data channels provided by ZTE radio devices (LTE soft base station
platform). This mode is also called ZTE transparent transmission.

RS232 Access
Figure 4-2 shows the RS232 access method. An energy device accesses the system
through the RS232 interfaces on the SA board of a BTS or Node B. Energy data is
transmitted on the radio network through the data interface that is agreed by the energy
EMS and radio devices. Radio devices only transmit energy data, but do not parse it.

The system allows multiple communication DC power devices to connect to one base
station through a serial concentrator. This connection method is also called "one base
station multiple power devices".

IP Access
Figure 4-3 shows the IP access method. Energy devices access the system through the
DEBUG interfaces on the CC boards of BTSs or Node Bs. Energy data is transmitted on
the radio network through the data interface that is agreed by the energy EMS and radio
devices. Radio devices only transmit energy data, but do not parse it.

Figure 4-3 IP Access Mode

4.2.2 TCP/IP Networking Mode

This network architecture can use an existing wired IP network or use an external private
IP network.
The CSU software is based on the fifth generation power supply or a few fourth generation
power supply of a monitoring platform (V2.0 or later). When being configured on an energy
EMS, it requires the IP address, MAC address, and listening port number of the device.
Figure 4-4 shows the TCP/IP network architecture.

4.2.3 Wireless Networking Mode

When wired TCP/IP access mode cannot be applied to energy devices, you can use
wireless networking mode.
Figure 4-5 shows the network architecture.

4.2.4 Hybrid Networking Mode

The hybrid networking mode consists of the in-band networking mode, TCP/IP networking
mode, and Wireless networking mode. An energy EMS can support multiple networking
modes.

Figure 4-6 shows the hybrid networking mode.

4.3 Networking Requirements

The networking modes of the NetNumen U31 (ICT) R32 can be sorted by priority as
follows: TCP/IP networking mode > in-band IP access > in-band RS232 access > wireless
networking mode.
