 Why use a Grease Interceptor?
Grease and Oil from commercial kitchens, etc.
poses a significant problem to sewage systems
and treatment facilities.

Congealed grease can clog sewer pipes leading

to expensive maintenance or even replacement.

Local Water Authorities are increasing the need to

protect their sewerage systems from grease and are
requiring installation of Grease Interceptors

 Why size a Grease trap?

Without a properly size flow control, the flow through the trap
may exceed the rating of the unit, causing lower efficiencies and
allowing grease to pass through the trap into the downstream
piping.

 How to calculate the flow rate:

Sink size: 61cm x 50cm x 30cm = 91500cm³

L x W x H = cm³
91500÷1000 = 91.5 litres

0.75 x 91.5 = 68.63 litres

68.63 ÷60 sec = 1.14 litres per second
