Character Sequestering agent for pretreatment and dyeing, stabilizer for the
hydrogen peroxide bleach

Specific weight

Stabilities BEIXON AB and the watery solutions produced of it are stable to alkali,
reducing agents and oxidizing agents in the usual concentrations.
Properties
BEIXON AB has an excellent sequestering and dispersing property towards alkaline earth ions and iron ions in
the alkaline medium.
The product can be used in pretreatment and dyeing. BEIXON AB stabilizes hydrogen peroxide and does not
have a demineralizing effect in case of metal containing dyeing liquors.
BEIXON AB is free of phosphor and can also be used in case of very strong limiting values for the introduction of
phosphate into the waste water or in case completely biodegradable sequestering agents are necessary.
Contrary to conventional polyacrylates the removal of BEIXON AB in the biological purification plant is not due to
adsorption but to a complete mineralisation of the product. BEIXON AB allows to reduce the load of refractory
carbon.
Application technique
Diluting instructions
BEIXON AB can be mixed with cold and warm water at any ratio. But the product can also be added to the
treatment liquor without being solved before.
Fields of application
BEIXON AB is added to washing, desizing, boiling and bleaching liquors and as sequestering agent in dyeing. It
is suitable for fast-soaping of reactive, vat, sulphuric and naphthol dyeings. The product does not only have a
sequestering effect, but also improves the soil suspending properties in washing liquors.
Application Proposals
BEIXON AB has an excellent threshold effect and is thus able to bind also over-stoichiometric amounts of
alkaline earth ions and prevents them from precipitating in treatment baths and heat exchangers.
The application amount depends on the amount of metal ions which have to be linked. The following application
concentrations are recommended as guideline:
In case of discontinuous processes (the recipes given refer to a liquor ratio of 1 : 10):
Demineralization process:
0.5 - 2.0 g/l BEIXON AB
0.5 - 2.0 g/l FELOSAN JET
The pH can be adjusted with all acids appropriate for textile purposes but preferrably with formic acid or
sulphuric acid.
Alkaline pretreatment:
0.5 - 2.0 g/l BEIXON AB
0.5 - 2.0 g/l FELOSAN JET
1.0 - 10.0 g/l NaOH 50°Bé
Peroxide bleach:
0.5 - 1.0 g/l BEIXON AB
0.5 - 2.0 g/l FELOSAN JET
1.0 - 5.0 ml/l NaOH 50° Bé
2.0 - 10.0 ml/l H2O2 50 %
If the bleach is carried out with soft water and/or after a demineralization step it is necessary to add 0.2 g/l
MgSO4 x 7 H2O (bitter salt). If the fabric is difficult to bleach it is also possible to add 1.0 - 2.0 ml/l silicate of
soda 38° Bé.
Enzymatic desize:
1.0 - 2.0 g/l BEIXON AB
2.0 - 5.0 g/l FELOSAN JET
3.0 - 5.0 g/l BEISOL T 2090 (pad-steam and pad batch process)
In case of a fabric difficult to bleach it is also possible to add 5.0 ml/l silicate of soda 38° Bé. For pad-steam
processes with a long reaction time of 10 to 90 min we recommend our CONTAVAN GAL.
If the fabric is difficult to bleach it is also possible to add 10 - 20 ml/l silicate of soda 38°Bé.
Dyeing:
are added to the dyeing and soaping processes depending on the water hardness and dyestuff amount.
