1. Given 2𝑦 = 3 , find the value of
(a) 8𝑦

(a) Find the value of 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑥 𝑎.

3. Given that the area bounded by point 𝑃(ℎ, 4), 𝑄(6, 12) and 𝑅(9, 6ℎ) is zero.
(a) State the characteristic for the three points.
(b) Hence, find the value of h. [3 marks]

4. Diagram 4 shows that the straight line AB is perpendicular to the straight line BC and
∠𝑂𝐵𝐴 = 45°. Given the coordinate of point A is (5, 0), find the equation of straight line BC.

(a) Find
(i) the equation of the locus of point P
(ii) the values of t [6 marks]

(b) The tangent to the circle at point A intersects the y-axis at point H. Find the area of
triangle OAH. [4 marks]

8. The marks obtained by a group of students in a test is shown in Table 8. The mean mark of
