One problem I have identified as I have started planning my capstone is if I’m going to
be able to have my grandpa present during the making of the Italian meals since they’re his
recipes. He lives in San Jose so I might just have my grandma on my mom’s side and my dad
present for the cooking part. I’m thinking I could maybe call my grandpa and ask which meals he
recommends us to make.

I seek to learn how to cook some traditional Mexican and Italian meals for my future self
and for my class because not only are the meals tasty but 100% authentic and hopefully easy to
make.

I have researched if Italian food is healthier than Mexican food, and the average cost of a
home cooked meal. These were essential to my capstone because people may be concerned about
their health and budget. I believe it’s important to keep those things in mind so that I can reach
more people.

So far I have picked some Italian meals I would like to for sure put in the cookbook and
recreate.

Up above are two Italian recipes that I will for sure

include in my cooke book. On the left is my dad’s famous
Chicken Piccata and on the right is Osso Buco (bone marrow of a calf)

Throughout the next month I am planning on;

1. Selecting the number of recipes I want to put in my book
2. Deciding which recipes I want to pick
3. Planning when to cook each meal
4. Scheduling times when my dad and grandma can help me
5. Taking information down for each recipes/taking pictures
6. Organizing my scrap/cookbook
7. Labelling my cookbook and finishing it
