ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION

Year 2017-18

 Construction of Hall - Ramakrishna Sarada Mission – Sri Sarada Math, Indore DO/CZ
Sri Sarada Math & Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Indore, the only centre in Madhya Pradesh
commenced its activities in March 1991. The aim and object of this center are to carry on
educational, cultural and religious activities among women and children. Presently, a high
school for girls with a total strength of nearly 400 is being run at minimum fees aiming at all
round development of the children. They are also running a rehabilitation centre for
handicapped children, vocational training of Computer and English classes for house-wives
and Physiotherapy center for women & children, many other facilities at free of cost or
concessional rate.
Presently Various activities which are being conducted in the centre are Hydrotherapy,
Hippo Therapy, Specialized Dance, Music, Yoga and Art Therapy, Simple Kitchen activity,
Dressing-Undressing, Dining etiquette etc. will assist the child with special needs in
improving self care skills. All these facilities are not available at Indore. They will provide
all facilities at subsidized rate.
Funding of Rs. 25,00,000/- has been provided for construction of Hall for Occupational
Therapy centre . will assist the child with special needs in improving self care skills.
 School Bus –(EICHER – 10.75E/32515 WB (30+1) seats) - Spandan School for Mentally
Challenged, Banyan City Jaycees Education Trust, Vadodara - Vadodara DO/WZ
Spandan School for Mentally Challenged (SSMC) was started by the Banyan City Jaycees
Education Trust, Vadodara in 1975, to provide affordable education to children with mental
disabilities. Beginning with only 12 children and 2 special educators in 1975, SSMC has
grown into an integrated facility with 30 staff members taking care of almost 200 special
children from age 2 onwards, studying in various divisions. SSMC provide various therapies
like Multi sensory therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Communication Therapy,
Occupational therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, Psychological Testing and Counseling,
Music Therapy, Yoga therapy, Dance therapy. The SSMC is not charging any educational
fees but are only taking therapy charges.
Financial assistant of Rs 15,29,256/- has been provided for Purchase of a school bus for safe
transportation of children from their homes to the school and back who belong from
economically weaker families and cannot afford the cost of transportation.
 Purchase of Vehicle - The Lok Biradari Prakalp - Project of Maharogi Sewa Samiti, –
Nagpur DO/ WZ
The organization is registered under the Public Charitable Trust and was set up at village
Hemalkasa of Bhamragadtaluka in the district of Gadchiroli on 23rd December 1973 by Late
Baba Amte under the auspices of Maharaogi SewaSamiti, Wanora to extend a hand of help to
the tribal people such as Madia and Gond community. Lok Biradari Ashram School is partly
Government aided. The hospital receives grant for 30 patients from ‘The Navajibhai Ratan
Tata Trust. Apart from providing education and healthcare facilities to local tribes, the

project is also running an animal orphanage and rescue center which maintains near about
100 rescued animals. The institution has 650 students from Hemalkasa and 75 students from
Nelgunda. No fees are charged from the students.
The Trust runs school, hospital and animal orphanage by providing education and health care
facilities to the tribal people. The hospital provides treatment free of cost to the tribal’s.
Funding of Rs15,00,000/- has been provided for Purchase of Vehicle for transportation of
school staff along with children of surrounding villages, to serve the remotest tribal’s of
Madia & Gond community of the region for upliftment of the tribal society.
 Purchase of Tata Winger 32 School (AC) School Bus - Centre for Autism Therapy
Counseling & Help, Bhubaneswar DO , ECZ
Centre for Autism Therapy is an organization working in the field of Autism since last 12
years. The management of CATCH is presently carried by the parents of the autistic children.
It is fully funded by the voluntary contribution from the parents and the occasional
contributions from the friends and well wishers. The organization is working from an rented
premises on lease for a period of 3 years commencing from 22.04.2015. There are around 30
special students attending the school. The organization is running therapy centre by assessing
the specific disability of each child and suitable activity is planned in a systematic manner for
them. Since most of the autistic children are having problems related to eye contact and lack
concentration, various teaching aids are being to improve their concentration.
Financial assistant of Rs 11,47,500/- has been provided for purchase of School bus for
transportation of special students.
 Construction of Maths and Physics Lab in school - Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya,
Ramnagar, Silchar DO /EZ
VKV is having branches all over the country which carries out various activities such as
yoga, rural development programmes, education, health, development of natural resources
etc. Keeping in view its objectives, VKK has established 52 schools in Northeast India and
the VKV, Ramnagar, Silchar is one amongst these which was established in the year 2005
and is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. Trust has 594 students, 24 teachers and 7 non-teaching
staff and fee is waived for 8 students. With the help of teacher, remedial classes are
conducted for slow learners and extra-curricular classes like martial arts, fine arts, music etc
are conducted for all-round development of children. They conduct various workshops like
making scientific toys from trash, science experiments and working models, 3 dimensional
mathematics model making etc.
For extending education facility to the poor people, funding of Rs 20,14,000/- has been
provided for construction of Maths and Physics Lab in school.

• Purchase Computer for Computer Lab Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Tripura


–Eastern Zone – Silchar Division

The Ramakrishna Mission with its Headquarters at Belur Math, in West Bengal, has 179
Branch centers spread all over the world. In West Tripura Ramakrishna Mission has a
branch center with two sub-centers .The main center situated at Viveknagar, 9 k.m. from
Agartala town started in 1989. The Ramakrishna Mission undertakes various kinds of social

activities and free medical service to the poor and downtrodden people of the society and
also undertakes relief activities during natural calamities. Financial assistance of
Rs7,40,810/-- has been provided for purchase of computer , computer table and chairs for
computer laboratory.

• Construction of School building for Handicapped Children -Assissi Holistic


Research Centre-– South Zone -Ernakulam Division

Assisi Holistic Research centre is a charitable institution, started in the year 2003
(Registered in 2005) with holistic medical system for treating the sick. This system is a
combination of Electro homeopathy and Acupuncture. They provide various therapies like
Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational therapy, Acupuncture, Moxa, Acupressure, ,
Psychological Testing and Counseling, Music Therapy, Dance therapy, Prayer, Picnic,
Recreation activities, Yoga therapy. The hospital has a capacity of 50 beds and nearby 100
patients on an average avails the service as out- patients. On an average 50-60 special
children are treated free of cost. Financial assistance of Rs 25,00,00/- has been provided for
extending their facility towards education for special children, and construction of School
Building for these disabled children.

• Construction of 3rd Floor for training and other income generation programmes for
the special children - Chetna Association Bilaspur - North Zone - Shimla

Chetna Association Trust was established in 1998 at Bilaspur. Special school has been set
up by Chetna at Bilaspur, Ghumarwin and Jhandutta providing overall development
facilities like, need based education, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, vocational
training, Sports and games, culture activity etc to nearly 150 children. Presently they have
registered 800 athletes with all disabilities for sports under Special Olympics in district
Bilaspur. They have also provided many training like SSA home- based Program, income
generation program and targeted intervention project for Truckers, Training of Care Givers
etc. Financial assistance of Rs 25,00,000/- has been provided for construction of 3rd floor,
which is useful for carrying out activities like running 2 special school for intellectually
challenged and community- based program of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and also helpful for
rehabilitation of the mentally retarded children in the field of health, academics, sports,
vocational training etc.

• Purchase of School Van for transportation of mentally challenged children to


School - South Central Zone – Siri Institute for Mentally Handicapped –
Rajahmundry DO

“Siri Educational Society (Siri Institute for the Mentally Handicapped), Samalkot was
formed in the year 1994 for providing teaching and training for mentally challenged below
the poverty line children and to achieve the goal of rehabilitating them. It covers three
Mandals with three branches i.e. Samalkot, Anuru (Peddapuram Mandal), Prathipadu
(Prathipadu Mandal), covering 80 villages and providing services for both hostel (for 75
children) and day scholars (180 children). They are also providing vocational training
programmes on Detergent Powder manufacturing, Tailoring, Embroidery, book binding,
basket weaving, leaf plates making unit, relief, rehabilitation to mentally challenged persons
particularly children from poor, rural and semi-urban families who are otherwise
condemned. Trust had requested fund for School Bus which would be purely used for

bringing the children to their three centres. Presently they are using the services of auto to
bring day scholar students to their three centres which is not safe for these children.
Financial assistance of Rs 12,67,620/- has been provided for purchase of School Van for
transportation of mentally challenged children to school.

• Construction of Vocation Training Centre -Heritage Culture Art and Education


Development Society - Western Zone - Kolhapur Division

Heritage Culture Art and Education Development Society (HCAEDS) Trust was Registered
in the year 1994 for promoting development related programs and activities focusing rural
and tribal women, children, youth and farmers .Education is the core purpose of Heritage-
so they started school in 2004 to provide quality education & skilled education to the people
and conduct different activities like Grafting, making Utne, making food items, showpiece,
light fitting training etc in school, which is useful for the employment of the students. They
have also carried out two orientations training programme for SHG’s and consumer group,
Grampanchayat member and IWMP committee member. Among 11 villages, in 3 villages 5
orientation training were organized and around 303 people were benefited. Trust had
requested assistance of Rs 27, 70,520/- for additional building on the same plot and this
vocational training centre will be helpful for employment of the people. Financial assistance
of Rs 25, 00,000/ has been provided for Construction of Vocational Training Centre.

• Purchase of Vehicle - Aarambh – Western Zone - Thane Division

Aarambh Trust was registered in the year 1997 and working in the slums of Turbhe (Navi
Mumbai), it enrolls underprivileged children in schools and provides them free tuition. The
school was started with three rooms and 30-40 students, now they have own building and
approximately 2000 students are studying there. Trust runs pre schools in six slum
communities of Navi Mumbai where mothers can leave their children. Over 400 children
below five years attend the pre schools every day. Most of the mothers work as housemaids.
They have 22 teachers and 8 other staff members .The school provides mid-day meal to the
students and conducts various extra-curricular activities for the students like tree plantation,
yoga, street plays, cleanliness drive etc. They wanted financial assistance for purchase of
vehicle to pick up such children in four trips and drop them after School, a total of approx
100 children would be benefitted. Apart from this, the elder sibling can also attend school,
which would otherwise have to remain at home to take care of the younger ones. Financial
assistance of Rs 14,80,844/- has been provided for purchase of vehicle.

• Construction of hostel, mess for deaf & dumb children from tribal area on school
itself -Junnar Education Society’s Mukbadhir Vidyalaya, Junnar -Western Zone -
Pune DO I

Junnar Education Society was established in 1935 with the aim of Education to all category
students for the purpose of generous personality. They have six branches of education i.e
Shankarrao Butte Patil Vidyalaya & Junior College, R.P.Sabnis Primary School, Shankarrao
Butte Pail English Medium School a Pre Primary & Primary Section, Govind Vasudev Joshi
(Gujare) Balak Mandir, Late Bansilal Mohanlal Mukbadhir Vidyalaya.. “Junnar Education
Society’s Mukbadhir Vidyalaya” was formed in the year 1985 & started in the year 1987
with 40 blind students (both boys & girls). The area is deep rural and maximum students
are from nearby area. It was very difficult for the students to travel every day, hence Mr

Anil Joglekar has given his building for hostel. Now 28 students are living in that Hostel.
Financial assistance of Rs 25,00,000/- has been sanctioned for construction of own Hostel,
Library, Mess and workshop for deaf and dumb children from tribal areas.

• Purchase of Tata CNG- Integrated Institute of Rehabilitation for the Disabled –


Viklang Samekit Punarvas Sansthan- North Central Zone – Agra Division

Integrated Institute of Rehabilitation for the Disabled formally called Viklang Samekit
Punarvas Sansthan was established in 2005 at Agra for taking care of the marginalized
sections of people who are suffering from disability especially those in agony, and children
suffering from cerebral Palsy, Autism, mentally retarded and visually handicapped, hearing
problem etc. IIRD is running Special education centre for challenged children and provide
special education, speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, play therapy and
activities of daily living etc. In May 2016, the organization has done a survey in Agra city,
where they have screened more than 500 Divyang people, suffering from different types of
disease like mentally retarded, cerebral palsy, autism, deaf and dump. Out of this there were
35 children who were in very bad condition, the organization is taking care of these children
and provided residence to 20 children and day care facility to 15 students for rehabilitation.
Financial assistance of Rs 5,97,365 has been provided for purchase of CNG TATA
Magic Bus for transportation / caters the need of mentally and physically challenged
children.

• Purchase of Bus 10.75 H 3*2 (40+1) - Matrubhumi Charitable Trust - South


Central Zone - Warangal Division

Mathrubhumi Charitable Trust, Narasampet, was established in the year 2006 to provide
housing, food, and clothing, good education and life skills to orphaned and impoverished
children to become a Good Citizen of India. The organization is recognized by the women
and child welfare department. Trust is honored by District Collector Warangal for Best
Children care Award on 14.11.2015. MBCT have own building in area of 3500 sq ft which
is donated by Dr Bomineni Gopal. This building accommodates boys and girls hostel, study
hall, library, canteen and office but they don’t have facility of School College. Presently
trust is having 53 Orphan children from 5 years to 18 years from LKG to intermediate
classes going to different schools. The 17 children are going to Hanuman Deval, 7 small
children from 5 years to 11 years going to Mandala Primary school (Telugu Medium), 6
students from class 6th to 10th going to Zilla Parishad High School, 5 students from inter
mediate are going to Junior college. These schools, colleges are about 1.5 to 2 km away
from the ashram. Financial assistance of Rs 17, 10,350/- for purchase of Bus 10.75 H 3x2
(40+1) has been providing for transportation facility to orphanage children.

• Construction of School Building First floor -Satavali Panchkroshi Shikshan


Sanstha, Satavali, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra - Western Zone - Kolhapur Division

The Satawali Panchkroshi Shikshan Sanstha (SPSS) Trust was registered in the year 1969
and the school was started in 1969 at village Satawali in Lanjataluka of Ratnagiri District,
Maharashtra, which is a hilly and economically backward region. Children from Satawali

and other neighboring villages are benefitted by the school. The school provides education
to poor students of the area and so far nearly 1100 students have passed out from the school,
some of them are doctors and engineers. They are also running High School and Science Jr.
College where presently 374 students are studying free of cost. The high school and junior
college has 16 teaching staff and it is having all facilities like Physics, Chemistry, Biology
labs and library, but not in one place. Financial assistance of Rs 25,00,000/- has been
provided for construction a two storied building where the school and college can be
managed in single shift and Physics, Chemistry, Biology labs as well as library, ladies room,
toilet can be provided in the same building.

• Purchase of School Bus – Eicher 10.75 HSKY Line (32+1) - Suryoday Kelvani
& Sanskrutik Mandal - Western Zone - Bhavnagar Division

Suryoday Kelvani & Sanskrutik Mandal was established in 2000 and has been working
since last 20 years in the service of spreading education, social and cultural activities in
Savarkundla town & rural area. The main activity being “Save Girl Child” and create
awareness for girls social and educational field. The institute is carrying the activities of
school by self-finance by charging very nominal fees from the students. They are providing
free uniform, tie, belt, shoes, shocks, school bag to the students free of cost. At higher
secondary level all girls’ students are exempted from paying fees. The school has 58
employees and they provide education to 1300 students out of which 100 are totally exempt
from fees. Financial assistance of Rs 17,13,997/- has been provided for purchase of school
bus to provide transportation facility to female students from their residence to school.

• Purchase of 3 Braille Machines, 4 Computers and UPS to be used for blind -


Vocational Rehabilitation Training Centre (regd.) for Blind- North Zone - Ludhiana

Vocational Rehabilitation Training Centre is registered under Registration of Societies Act


1860 under Registration No.123/1974-75. The institute was founded by Late Dr .E.M.
Johnson who himself was blind and worked as consultant on Rehabilitation and Head of the
Eye Research project and Orthopedics Rehabilitation project of the Christian Medical
College and Hospital, Ludhiana. In 1978 it was converted into a fully fledged vocational
rehabilitation centre with the help of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment,
Government of India and other agencies. The institute provides free educational, vocational
services along with free boarding and lodging facilities to 175 blind and disabled persons
institutionally every year and about 200 in the rural areas in the remote villages of Ludhiana
District. Total financial assistance of Rs 11,51,860/- has been provided for three things i.e
Purchase of three Braille Machines(including software) of Rs.9,43,000/-, four computers is
Rs.1,83,960/- and cost of UPS is Rs 24,900/- to be used for blind.

• Construction of Kitchen & a dining hall attached to an existing school, construction


of kitchen - Ramakrishna Mission Boys ‘Home, Rahara, Kolkata - Eastern Zone –
KSDO

Ramakrishna Mission Boys Home, Rahara, Kolkata, is registered in 1909 with a mission of
imparting education to destitute and poorest of poor section of children including orphan
children. It is a residential school, imparting education and preparing students for self
sustenance. The object of the Boys’ Home is to maintain and educate these boys in its care
in a manner so that they may grow into healthy self-disciplined young men, full of zeal with
a sound moral foundation and as much general education as possible and also be inspired by
a genuine love and regard for the glorious heritage of the country. The Home maintains and
educates about 100 Scheduled Tribe Boys, entirely free of any charge. They hail from
extremely poor peasant families and are admitted here under the Scheduled Tribes Welfare
Scheme of the Govt.of India. Financial assistance of Rs11,51,860/- has been provided for
the construction of a kitchen & a dining hall attached to an existing school.

Year 2016-17

• Construction of hostel with basic amenities - LalaJagatNarain Himotkarsh Kanya


Mahavidyalaya, Kotla Khurd, Shimla – Shimla DO/NZ
Lala Jagat Narain Himotkarsh Kanya Mahavidyalaya Shiksha Samiti, Una (LJNHKMV) is a
charitable education society registered in 1998. It was formed topromote girls’ education
especially higher education, vocational and technical education. Education is being imparted
free of cost to orphan girls and girls from economically weaker sections from rural area.
Presently 582 girl are studying in the college. The college provides free boarding, lodging and
free-ship to 20 orphans and poor talented girls.Funding of Rs 17,24,878 has been provided for
construction of dormitory, toilet for girls belonging to poor families.

• Construction for the extension of existing building for Primary School (Six rooms at
Ground and First Floor) - Bharat Sevashram Sangh, Gangpur, Taluka Vansda, Distt.
Navsari, Surat – Surat DO/WZ
Bharat Sevashram Sangh started a tribal welfare center at Gangpur in Navsari District of
Gujarat in October 1997. It is a Branch of Bharat Sevasharam Sangha, Calcutta. The school
works especially for the welfare of tribal & backward people and runs on “no profit no loss”
basis. The school is situated in rural and backward area of Gujarat and the Trust is providing
quality educationto poor students, free of cost. Presently 765 children are studying in the
school which is the first primary school at Gangpur, Taluka Vansda, Dist Navsari. The school
has 30 teachers / employees to take care of students. The project authority works for noble
cause of providing free education in the tribal area where people do not have easy access to
education.
Presently the school has 30 rooms in a two storied building with total construction area of
23338 Sq ft. Funding of Rs 25,00,000/- has been provided for construction of six rooms
(three rooms at ground floor and three rooms at first floor) with proposed area of 1362.75 Sq
ft on each floor to accommodate more students, especially poor students living in Gangpur or
nearby places.

• School Bus (Tata Star Bus) - Mamta Vidyalaya- An initative of Matimand Vidhyarthi
Shikshan Mandir, Nashik – Nashik DO/WZ
The Matimand Vidhyarthi Shikshan Mandir (MVSM) was established in the year 1981 and
registered under Society Registration Act and Trust Act. Its objective was to start special
school for mentally retarded children and accordingly Mamata Vidyalaya was started at
Amalner, Jalgaon District of Maharashtra, which is the only special school for such children
in Jalgaon District. Mamta Vidyalaya is for the mentally challenged students up to the age of
18 years.
The Trust started “Savali Project” which is an experiment to engage the mentally challenged
and economically backward children in agricultural activities, thus making them productive
members of their families. The school has purchased 6 acres land for agriculture and the
income generated from the crop is to be given to the children.
Presently, 50 children from economically weaker sections are studying in the school and all
facilities are provided free of cost. Apart from special training to the mentally challenged
children, the Centre provides uniforms, food, library, audio visual teaching program,
scholarship, free medical checkup, free health advice, speech therapy, occupational therapy,
physiotherapy, functional academics with pre-vocational skills, facilities for imparting life
skills and arts.
The mentally challenged children commute from home to school and back by auto rickshaws
and private vans, which is not safe. Funding of Rs 14,45,870/- has been provided for
purchase of a school bus for transportation of the children to the institute and to drop them
back at their residences.

• Swaraj Mazda van - Radha Institute for Mentally Retarded – Secunderabad DO/ SCZ
It is the first institute in the State of Andhra Pradesh to initiate pre-vocational and vocational
training programme for the mentally challenged persons. They have 120 students in the
institution from whom no fees are charged.
Funding of Rs 15,78,210/- has been providing for purchase of a 32 seater Swaraj Mazda van
for transportation of mentally challenged children.

• Tata Star Bus Ultra School (56 seater bus) - Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj –
Bhavnagar DO/WZ
Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj (PCMSK), Surendranagar, was established in 1995
and has been working since last 20 years in the service of blind students. PCMSK runs
primary education from Standard 1 to 7, starting with basic programme of Braille reading and
writing and High School where education is provided to blind girls. PCMSK is providing
food, clothing, hostel, medical treatment and education facility free of cost to around 175
blind girls at present. The school has 15 teaching and 8 non-teaching staff. The institute is
running Computer Training Course, Canning Diploma Course and Beautician Course (Hair &
Skin Care) which are ITI recognized. It has won may National level awards including
“Rashtrapati Award”.
Funding of Rs 19,00,000 has been providing for purchase of Tata Star Bus Ultra School (56
seater bus) for transportation of blind students.

• Construction of School Building - Dr K. B. HedgewarShikshanPrasarak Mandal - Goa
DO/WZ
Dr. K. B. Hedgewar Shikshan Prasarak Mandal established in Panaji City is imparting
elementary education in mother tongue. The aim of the School is to develop the best that is in
the children, so as to prepare them for challenges of the changing world, through
encouragement of self-discipline, intellectual upgradation and physical fitness. The School
has achievements in all the fields i.e. academic, sports, cultural, quiz, elocution, debate etc.
The school is running competitive exam training centre, Indian classical music school, Vedic
Mathematics training centre wherein students from other schools are also benefited. The
school which began with 20 students has today grown up as a full-fledged institution
imparting education from K.G. to Junior College with the strength of 1350 students. The
school is having 39 teaching staff on regular basis, 16 lecturer on contract basis and 12 non-
teaching staff along with 10 other staff members on contract basis. The school is
receiving Salary and Maintenance grant from the Government for High School section and
only maintenance grant for Primary Section. No grant is received for Pre-Primary Section.
Funding of Rs 25,00,000/- has been provided for construction of school building for students
of pre-primary, primary, and secondary and higher classes.

• Construction of 5 classrooms, 1 Head Master Room - Koyana KhoreVidyaVikas High


School, Shirwali -Satara DO/WZ
Koyana Khore Vidya Vikas School situated at Shirwali Taluka, Mahableshwar is run by
Mahabaleshwar Takuka (Koyana Khore) Vikas Mandal, Mumbai (MTKKVM) which is
aTrust registered at Mumbai in 1986 by few residents of the villages who were working at
Mumbai. The objective is to provide education to poor students of around 15 villages in the
neighborhood who cannot afford to go and study far from this place. It is in deep rural area
around 35 kms from Mahabaleshwar, where majority of the people are from poor financial
background. The school was built on one acre donated land. It has done an excellent job of
providing education particularly to girlswho are 40% of total students. The school is receiving
100% government grant since 1993-94. The school provides free education to 175 students
from classes V to X. The school has 11 teachers/employees to take care of students.
Funding of Rs 25,00,000/- has been provided for the construction of class rooms of junior
college for higher education to the students who pass out of class X from the school.
• Construction of school building - Nimar Abhyudaya Rural Management and
Development Association,- Indore DO/CZ
Nimar Abhyudaya Rural Management and Development Association (NARMADA) was set
up in year 2010 to extend helping hand to the deprived villagers in the Nimar region of
Madhya Pradesh with a focus of providing pre-school and primary education programs across
the villages. Initially, non formal schools or education centers known as “Narmadalaya” were

Niketan has been started at LepaPunarvas. 125students are enrolled in the school and majority
of them are from economically weaker sections and 65% of students are enrolled free of cost.
Funding of Rs 25,00,000 has been provided for construction of school building on the land
specially purchased for the purpose at village Lepa Punarvas.
• Construction of Sanskrit class room - Gaudiya Mission, Bagbazar – KMDO I /EZ
The object of the Mission is preaching of Sri Chaitanya’s doctrine of Universal Peace
&Brotherhood. The objective is that the younger generation should learn Sanskrit to follow
the scripts of Indian Philosophy. The Sanskrit class room is affiliated to “Rashtriya Sanskrit

Sanstha” and thesalary of teachers and staff is paid by the Gaudiya Mission. The cost of day
to day management of a cyber library which is free for students is collected from donation
and subscription of members.
Funding of Rs 12,25,257/- has been provided for construction of the Sanskrit class room.

• School Bus – Netra Vidyalaya Degree College for Blind, Sriramnagar- Hyderabad
DO/SCZ
Netra Vidyalaya provides education for the blind in India and is a part of the Jeeyar
Educational Trust (JET) founded by HH Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja
Jeeyar Swamiji. JET provides free education, boarding, lodging, food, study material etc to
blind students irrespective of religion, caste, colour and gender. Students use computers
equipped with Braille software in the Netra Vidayalaya and state-of-the-art Braille Printer is
also provided to them. Vocational training is also provided to the students in higher classes
(grades) so that they can use the skills to become financially independent. They have 6
teachers and 2 other staff members to take care of blind students. Apart from that, they have
12 visiting faculty members to provide education to the students. Presently there are 120
students in the Netra Vidyalaya from whom no fee is charged.
Funding of Rs 13,73,273/- has been provided for purchase of a bus for Netra Vidyalaya
Degree College for transportation ofBlind students from hostel to class rooms and
examination centers.

• School Bus- Tempo Traveller Mini SCB 17 Seater - Aanchal, St Gregorios Charitable
Society, New Delhi - Delhi III DO/NZ
The St Gregorious Charitable Society (SGCS) is a non-religious charitable society formed
and registered in the year 2010 to manage the affairs of project known as Aanchal, which is a
centre for mentally challenged children. The Project was inaugurated on 26.10.2014 and out
of 53 students admitted, 45 are from economically weaker sections and all the services are
provided free of cost.
Funding of Rs 12,57,906/- has been provided for purchase of mini school bus (17 seater
Tempo Traveller Mini SCB) which would be used for transportation of mentally challenged
children from their homes to the Aanchal centre and back.

• Construction of School Building. - R.S.S. Jankalyan Samiti, Latur, Maharshtra - Sanvedana


Cerebral Palsy Vikasan Kendra,Latur, Aurangabad - Aurangabad Division/WZ
RSS Jankalyan Samiti (Maharashtra Prant) (RSSJS), Latur was registered under Society
Registration Act 1860 on 9.2.1973. ‘Sanvedana’ Cerebral Palsy Vikasan Kendra (SCPVK) is
run by RSSJS since last 10 years. ‘Sanvedana’ imparts education, therapeutic services,
vocational training and aims to help children with cerebral palsy to join the mainstream of the
society. Presently 50 children are benefitted from this project. They have 21 staff members
including special educators, speech therapists, physiotherapist, psychologist, doctors, care
takers and other clerical staff. The institution has received Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samaj
Bhushan Award from Govt. of Maharashtra for the year 2014-15.
Funding of Rs 25,00,000/- has been provided for construction of own new school building
which would benefit 100 children with cerebral palsy.

VLN is recognized by various government agencies for special adoption, juvenile justice,
welfare of persons with autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and multiple disabilities,

home for destitute women, Specialised adoption agency for surrendered or abandoned
babies, Integrated Child Development Service project and crèches for children under 6 yrs
of age, Childrens’ Home under Juvenile Justice Act, Working womens’ hostel, Family
counseling centre, Child line project for entire Purba Medinipur, Primary teacher training
institute, Special DLED course of training to disabled students, Special B Ed study centre
and Old age home for women above 60 yrs age.They are running Special School for visually
handicapped and mentally retarded children and no fee is charged from them. These children
have to be picked up and dropped at their door steps and also need to be cared by drivers
and attendants which are not provided by private transporters.

The Christian School, Molvom started the vocational training institute for handloom and
weaving in the year 2008. The aim of the establishment is to provide wider range of
education through formal schooling and to promote skill development through vocational
training institution of handloom and weaving for women. They provide vocational training
opportunity for drop out girls as well as widows and house wives.
Since the establishment of the school, there has been an increase in the number of pass out
students who are serving in various capacities and also trained weavers are earning their
livelihood.
Since the number of students have increased, therefore, construction of building for
handloom and weaving training institute is required to accommodate more students and
machinery. Funding has been provided for construction of building for handloom and
weaving training institute.

Badhit Bal Vikas Samiti, Badhir Vidyalaya – Ajmer/Ajmer DO/NZ –
The basic objectives of BBVS are to provide quality education including vocational training
to hearing impaired children without any discrimination of caste, creed etc. with the ultimate
objective of making the students self-dependent and to enable them to earn their livelihood
and live their life respectfully. BBVS is providing education including vocational training to
172 hearing impaired children free of cost.
The present bus being used for travelling of 40 deaf and dumb students was purchased in
2000-2001 with government aid and same needed to be replaced with new bus.
School bus has been provided for transportation of these handicapped children.

Trust – Udupi DO/SCZ :
The Rotary Charitable Trust was formed exclusively for running school activities. The Trust
also conducts Blood donation camps, medical checkup camps, distribution of books and
uniforms to school children etc under its community service.
The school is unaided and runs on no profit and no loss basis. The school is situated in
rural and backward area and the Trust is providing quality education to poor students.
Funds have been provided for Construction of Ground and First Floor of School building for
poor students living in sulia and nearby places.
• Purchase of School Bus – Eicher 11.12K Starline - Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila
Seva Kunj – Bhavnagar DO/WZ :
Shree Pragna Chakshu Mahila Seva Kunj (PCMSK), runs primary education from Standard
1 to 7 which starts with basic programme of Braille reading and writing. The institution runs

High School where education from standard 8 to 10 is provided to blind girls. Under its
Integrated Education Programme, the institution has appointed 35 mobile teachers with the
aid of the Central Government and about 1100 blind, deaf-dumb, mentally retarded children
are being benefitted. The institute also rehabilitates the blind girls by arranging for their
marriages to enable them to establish in the main stream of social life. PCMSK is providing
food, clothing, shelter, medical treatment and education facility free of cost to around 175
blind girls at present. The institute has won may National level awards including
“Rashtrapati Award”.

National Association for the blind, Gandhinagar is undertaking activities associated with the
education, training and employment of the blind and disabled in the Sabarkantha District,
Gujarat State. It is working towards the upliftment of the disabled and provides all services
free of charge to the blind children.
The organization also works to prevent disabilities by surveying rural areas for pregnant
women suffering from malnutrition or those who are unable to afford medicines and
medical checkups. The centre arranges for visits from professionals such as
physiotherapists, psychiatrists, psychologists and ENT specialists. Since inception, it has
helped more than 5000 disabled persons.
The institute has arranged for children pick up and drop through local transportation which
is like open rickshaws is not safe for blind students. School bus has been provided to bring
the children from their remote places and to drop them back.
• Purchase of School Bus - Annamma School for Hearing and Physically Handicapped
and Baby Care Centre – Machilipatnam DO/SCZ :
The main objective of Annamma Organization for Hearing and Physically Handicapped and
Baby Care Centreis to strengthen and empower mentally challenged children for their social
and mental health. They provide Special Education services which include preparation of
specially designed curriculum to meet unique need of children with Multiple Disabilities.
They work for HIV/AIDS infected and affected people. Awareness and screening is
provided for early identification, early intervention and prevention. They are providing
vocational training and forming Self Help Groups with suitable training and networking
training for infected and affected family members to work as volunteers at grass root level
and other suitable services for better living with stigma free environment.

School Bus has been provided to pick up these disabled children from their home to the
school and drop them back to their home. It will also be useful in participating in medical
camps organized by Government and private hospitals, to provide medical care to the sick
children and transport them to the hospital.

Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch (VSSM)was initiated in the year 2006 with the
mission to give social identity, dignity and voice to the various communities of Nomadic
and De-Notified Tribes. Its objectives are to ensure that all the children from NT-DNT
communities enjoy their fundamental Rights to Education, avail their fundamental rights
and entitlements, to facilitate creation of alternate employment opportunities in lieu of the

traditional occupation that have been rendered obsolete with time and to ensure that the NT-
DNT families obtain a roof, a place to settle and get an address of their own.
The girls of Vadia Village, for whom this hostel facility is developed are, although
unwillingly, forced to go into prostitution under the pressure of moneylenders from whom
these families or their forefathers have taken loan. The families live in utmost poverty.
VSSM has taken the challenge to make them free from the clutches of moneylenders as well
as poverty and provide them equal chance of growth both financially and socially. The said
hostel will not only serve as the platform for the girls of Vadia to become literate but also
pave a way to much better and brighter life ahead.
VSSM runs 4 hostels at different location in Gujarat (1 Boy’s hostel in Radhanpur, 1 Boy’s
and 1 Girl’s Hostel in Doliya, Surendranagar and Ahmedabad). However, the newly built
hostel in Ahmedabad has begun in June 2015 especially for the girls of Vadia.
School bus has been provided to these girl children presently staying in their hostel so that
they can be sent to school safely.

Friends Of Handicapped –India was established as a public charitable Trust in June and
established three institutions viz. Vaani School & Research Centre in November 1997,

L.I.C of India Vanni School Vocation Training Wing cum Hostel in July 2014. These
institutions provide quality vocational training to Handicapped students in various vocations
such as Computer Courses, Fashion Designing, Accounting, Beauticians Course, Jewellery
designing, Sports Goods manufacturing etc. It is conducting Diploma Course in Special
Education on No Profit No Loss basis and prepares Special Teachers who provide education
to Hearing Handicapped Students.

Challenged students/trainees from their homes in rural/semi-rural areas to school /
vocational training wing and back home.

The main objective of the organization is to eradicate the extreme poverty and ignorance
among the children, youth, women and especially Adhivasi, Santhal, Munda, Bhumij and
Lodha community hailing from remote villages.
The organization had started a primary school at Kharikamathani, in a small house with a
few children. Apart from book learning, they are giving emphasis on physical education,
different vocational training, recitation, cultural education etc for overall development of a
child.They are also providing income generation skills through handicrafts, raising crops,
poultry and livestock, fish farming and beekeeping.
Funds have been provided for Construction of assembly cum open teaching hall and
classroomto accommodate increasing number of students.

Parents Association for the Mentally Handicapped persons, Manochaitanya is a charitable
organization registered as NGO with the Telangana Govt. to run special school for mentally
handicapped children. They provide necessary facilities of education and training for
mentally handicapped children. They are running early intervention and stimulation
programme for 0-5 years of children and Special school under integrated education
programme for children between 5-15 years of age. They are running Manochaitanya
vocational training center and sheltered workshop forMentally Challenged Persons of 15

years age and above.The School is servicing the deprived section of the Society and it is
being run from charity provided by different organizations.

are organizing other activities for the boys like acupressure, pranayam, Vivekanand
Pathachakra, library etc. They are also running a Matri Mangal Kendra, a sewing school for
girls. The organization has one homoeopathy and ayurvedic centre. Construction of Kitchen

Sri Ramakrishna Students’ Home Old Boarders Trust is a unit of Sri Ramakrishna Students’
Home, Bangalore which is providing free boarding and lodging to 50-60 students selected
on the basis of economic condition and merit. Students follow a routine by which they are
encouraged to inculcate discipline in their daily life, learn simple living, develop integrity,
embrace the cordial tenets of love of God, service to humanity, patriotism etc. Their
emphasis on character building helps the students to improve themselves physically,
morally, intellectually and to come up as responsible citizens. Apart from students, general
public is also taking part in these activities regularly. Presently all the students are housed in
four rented buildings. Construction of Rooms for Students along with common bath rooms,
toilets and General Assembly Hall at first floor has provided all facilities under one roof
with free boarding and lodging to poor and deserving meritorious students.

Youth Movement - Saragur/Mysore/SCZ :

recepient Swami Vivekanand Youth Movement is a Non Government Organization working
in the field of education, health, community development services throughout the Karnataka
State. The organisation is focusing on educating children in tribal hamlets, rural areas and
urban slums. The key focus areas are tribal and rural health, ayurveda, reproductive and child
health, hygiene and sanitation, care and control of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and disability.
Apart from providing education, they have established a Hospital in Saragur with 103 beds
and Nursing Institute. They have established Computer Labs and Alternate Schooling

Concept etc. They are running HIV programmes in rural areas and have Mobile Health Van
Units to visit patients in forests. The tribal rural students face a lot of difficulties to reach
school due to poor transportation facility and they cannot afford cost of transportation by
private vehicles. This is becoming a major hurdle for the students in attending school. School
bus for tribal rural students will provide transportation facility and encourage more number
of girls from tribal community to join the school.

Nava Jeevan Bala Bhavan Society is performing task of rehabilitating orphan/rescued/street
children and children affected by HIV/AIDS and also children from SC/ST and slum areas of
17 Mandals of Krishna district. They believe in Education as a tool to transform and break
the generational poverty. The children rescued from street life are brought immediately to
round the clock shelter and provided basic needs. Apart from providing education including
vocational education and providing health care for girls, the society is also providing support
to the girls against child marriages and also against cases of domestic violence. School bus is
used for commuting orphan, rescued street children, children affected by HIV/AIDS and
working children from the marginalized sections from various homes to respective schools
within the city and also for organising educational camps and medical purposes.

SAHAY is a nonprofit organization having objective to identify mental disabilities in

development, rehabilitation and recreational facilities to multiple disabled and mentally
challenged people. Special school called “Hrudalayam” is being run by SAHAY where
physiotherapy, speech therapy, special school, hostal facilities, food are provided free of cost
to children along with free vocational training and hostel accommodation to mentally
retarded people without age limitation. They are providing free shelter for missing persons
received from district child welfare committee through child line services. School Van
provided for reaching the remote places particularly in the deep rural areas for the children of
the school to move from home to hospital and other needy places.

- Satara/Satara/WZ :
Samata Shikshan Prasark Mandal works for children, youth and adults with various types of
disabilities, primarily those with physical disability, mentally challenged, have delayed
development, speech, hearing and other disabilities. The main objective of the school is to
strengthen and empower mentally challenged children for their social and mental health.
School has hundred percent results in the Xth standard State Board exam and all of them have
passed with excellent grades. Vocational training and skill development provided along with
teaching main subjects help students get employment opportunities at various small scale
industries in M.I.D.C. (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation). The distance
between the hostel and the school is about 3-31/2 kms and 175 students studying in the
School are residing in the hostel. As all the students are physically and mentally challenged,
it will be easy for them to commute from the hostel to the school on regular basis by School
Bus.
• Construction of Coaching cum Training Centre – Ramakrishna Math, Bagda,
Asansol Division
The Math is catering to various mankind services in different fields of human need, looking

after medical services, relief work and to uplift the downtrodden masses. The Math is
providing free coaching classes and training classes to boys and girls coming from nearby
villages. The Math is arranging seminars, symposiums, cultural programmes etc so that the
boys and girls of future generation may imbibe the values of selflessness and fellow-feeling
at an early stage of their life. Construction of Coaching cum Training Centre is for the boys
and girls from class I to class IV of the downtrodden families from the adjacent villages.

• Construction of Vocational Training Centre – Sarada Seva Sangha, Howrah


Division
Sarada Seva Sangha is a humble charitable organisation, started by a group of dedicated
women inspired by Swami Vivekananda's ideal of ‘Service to Man is Service to God’. They
got the necessary inspiration and guidance from the monks of the Ramakrishna Order. They
run a free coaching centre for 150 poor children studying from class I to XII running six days
a week. They are teaching English speaking, moral and cultural values. The students are
provided nutritious snacks every day. They are given books, note-books, a set of dress,
toothpaste, brush, soap, Blankets etc. Construction of one floor of existing building for
Vocational Training Centre will be utilized for educating socially and economically deprived
women.
• Construction of School Building – Ranapara Gram Bikash Kendra, Howrah
Division
Ranapara Gram Bikash Kendra was established in 1996 by a group of dedicated social
activists of Amta 1 Block with a view to undertake developmental initiatives in the locality
especially for empowerment of women and children, aged and other underprivileged sections
of socioeconomically backward communities. The society is located at village Ranapara on
the bank of the river Damodar. In rainy season due to heavy rain flood occurs and the poor
villagers suffer due to miseries, food insecurity and acute poverty. The Kendra is providing
education, training and all types of rehabilitation services within age group of 1-18. They also
provide community based, home based rehabilitation and training for adult boys, girls and
women free of cost and all the beneficiaries come from the poorest of poor families of rural
areas. Construction of school building will bring all these scattered children in the proposed
school building and provide educational facilities under one roof.

Gohaldiha Jati Upjati Blue Bird Women’s Welfare Centre, Kharagpur Division
The organisation started at a tribal dominated backward block in the district of Paschim
Medinipur. The area is surrounded by the river Subarnarekha and the land types are undulated,
hilly and full of forests. The main objective of the organization is to eradicate the extreme
poverty and ignorance among the children, youth, women and especially among the tribal
communities of the area. The organization had started a primary school at Kharikamathani, in a
small house with a few children. As the students strength is increasing day by day and has
reached up to 817 in the year 2014, they will be able to accommodate them by constructing
classrooms at the ground and first floor of the institution.
• Construction of boys hostel building - Avvai Ashram (a unit of Gandhigram Trust),
Tirunelveli Division
The Gandhidham Trust emerged with the blessings of Gandhiji in 1947 under the leadership of
Dr. T.S. Soundram and Dr. G. Ramachandran, the disciples of Gandhiji. Gandhidham Trust is
involved in various activities viz. health, education, social welfare and knowledge management.
Avvai Ashram is a unit of Gandhidham Trust which is a surrogate for 57 children, mostly from
very poor families, orphan or have single parent. Construction of boys hostel building will help

• Purchase of Braille Press - Shri Krushna Kumarsinhiji School & Home for Blind
Trust, Bhavnagar Division
The institute was established by the Maharaja of Bhavnagar State for providing education
and vocational training to the blind persons. The Institute is providing formal education from
KG to 12th standard to the blind children. The Braille lipi education is being given from
nursery to 8th standard in primary school and also from 9th to 12th standard, education is
being given as per the syllabus of higher secondary board of Gujarat State. Vocational
training is also imparted to students in the form of nylon work, electric motor rewinding,
computer, music and home science for blind girls. Braille Press will cater to the needs of the
blind students of the School so that every blind student can receive the study materials in all
the subjects which will assist them and enhance their learning process.

The School is engaged in bringing these children into mainstream and making them
employable without discretion of caste, creed and religion. Jeevoday has undertaken training,
education and rehabilitation of the intellectually challenged youngsters. They are providing

of the society. Mentally challenged children are trained for different skills related to self-
earning such as Tailoring, Carft work, Embroidary, Book binding, File making, Candle

Division
Bhikkhu Sangha`s United Buddhist Mission is the active Regional Member of the World
Fellowship Of Buddhist. The main objective of the Apang Mukbadhir Seva Sansthan
Vidhyalaya School is to educate the disabled students and students suffering from hearing
impairment. They have built up a huge monastery named as “Sarvodaya Maha Buddha
Vihara”in Mumbai and are doing monasterial services for the people in General. They are
also running a special Deaf & Dumb residential school for handicapped children and also
supporting them. They are running a boys hostel for students since last 20 years. Hundreds of
students have benefitted from it. School bus will help in minimizing the hardships faced by
the students due to non availability of transportation facilities.
• Construction of School Building - Dr. K.B. Hedgewar Shikshan Prasarak Mandal,
Goa Division
Dr. K. B. Hedgewar Shikshan Prasarak Mandal established in Panaji City which is imparting
elementary education in mother tongue. The aim of the School is to prepare the children for
challenges of the changing world, through encouragement of self-discipline, intellectual
upgradation and physical fitness. The School has achievements in all the fields i.e. academic,
sports, cultural, quizzes, elocution, debate etc. The School is running competitive exam
training centre, Indian classical music school, Vedic Mathematics training centre wherein
students from other schools are also benefited.

National Association for the Blind has been formed with the mission of helping to raise
education and skills of visually challenged persons in India and make them independent.
Purchase of Bus will be utilized to transport visually impaired children to the Home Based

Bhandari High School at Malvan was established in 1897.The school is developing skills in
its students. It has 1100 students. Activities such as Home Science and agriculture with
vermiculture compost fertilizer are conducted in the school. The students have also
succeeded in starting their vermiculure compost plant with herbal plantation garden on their
own. Construction of IBT Room will help students to get knowhow for modern technology
of Engineering, Home Science, Agriculture and other rural employment avenues.

• Purchase of School Bus - Ramakrishna Mission, Aalo, Jorhat Division
Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math has started a School at Aalo for the Arunachali tribals in
1966. It was started in a thatched building with only 35 students. Gradually, with the passing
of time, the School added on accessories such as a Dairy - to provide milk nutrition to the
residential tribal children, a poultry - to provide meat nutrition for the residential tribal
children, an agricultural field in the campus wasteland, utilizing the refuse of the dairy and
poultry – to provide vegetables to the residential tribal children, a printing press - to provide
writing material for the school children, a whole section of vocational training such as
tailoring, carpentry, industrial workshop, computer, etc. School bus will help the
parents/guardians of the students who are coming to drop their children to school from hilly
tribal area.
• Purchase of 26+1 seater School Bus - Karunamayee Parents’ Organisation for the
Mentally Handicapped, KSDO
The organization is imparting special education, therapy and medical attention among
challenged children mostly coming from BPL and unprivileged community. Organisation is
involved in activities namely special education at individual and group level, Nutrition
supplement, Medical Check up, counseling, treatment, skill training, parents training
programme, delivering lectures in local schools, community awareness programme etc.
School Bus will help them to provide transportation facility to more number of children.
• Construction of School Building - Bhalopahar, Asansol Division
Bhalopahar is a Society for Culture, Ecology & Rural Development. It is located at Bandwan
block of Purulia District , West Bengal in the border of Jharkand and Orissa. Their aim is to
build a formal school for education with rural development, ecology, conservation of folk
culture and tradition, primary health care and community hygeine, farming and cultivation.
They have changed the dry and empty landscape into a lush green forest with small clearings
for cultivation of rice and other food grains. There are total 200 students in the School from
whom no fee is being charged. LIC construction of School Building to have an
environmental school with hostel and regular playground and other facilities wherefrom all
students will graduate in future.
• Construction of first and second floor of students home - Ramakrishna Mission
Sevashrama, Silchar Divison
The Sevashrama conducts a Students' Home for the benefit of poor students, provides
medical help to hundreds of poor patients, supplies nutritious food and medicines wherever
necessary. The Students’ Home (hostel) is for poor and tribal students who study in classes
between VI and X. This Students’ Home was founded in 1963. With its limited financial
resources and grants-inaid from the Government, the Sevashrama has been providing food
and accommodation to 63 tribal boys. These tribal boys belong to different tribal
communities like Naga, Kuki, Hamar Chorai, Barman, Khasi, Reang, Tripuri and Chakma.
The Government bears all their expenses.LIC construction of floors of students home will
provide them the better environment for stay.
• Purchase of School Bus – Cherry Blossom Society, Jorhat Division

The Society is running a School viz. Cherry Blossom School for both normal and differently
abled children. Cherry Blossom School is one of its kind where importance is given to
educate every child irrespective of caste/creed/race/disability. They give therapy to the
Disabled children studying in school as well as out door disabled children get therapy in the
therapy department. They also encourage parents to be counselled. The bus will be utilised
for the transportation of these children so that more number of children can attend the school.
• Purchase of School Bus – Organization for Friends, Energies and Resources
(anandghar), KMDO II
Organization for Friends, Energies and Resources( OFFER) is a non-profit organization
working towards uplifting the condition of underprivileged children in Kolkata and other
district of West Bengal for last 28 years. OFFER and its various projects provide
institutionalized and specialized healthcare, education, psycho-social support to children with
HIV/AIDS, especially abled and mentally challenged children and also cater to the needs of
5,000 children. Children are also encouraged to participate in cultural programmes, extra-
curricular activities, attend events, functions and meet important dignitaries from all walks of
life.
• Construction of School Building – Ushagram Trust, KSDO
Ushagram Trust is a non-political, non profit and rural voluntary organization which was
formed in 1980 with six like minded people of the area. Ushagram Trust is a reputed
organization is West Bengal. It has taken several charitable activities for holistic
development of all classes of people through their various educational missions. They are
conducting workshop on teaching methodology and adult literacy programme in villages.The
purpose of the project is to spread further literacy in the area and opening up of new
opportunities to the drop outs. They will construct classes for primary school, Teacher’s
Training Room, space provision for up gradation of the school from primary level to upper-
primary level and opening of adequate library for children.
• Purchase of TATA Winger – Sirisha Rehabilitation Centre, Machilipatnam
Sirisha Rehabilitation Center is a voluntary service organization with the main focus of
working for the training and rehabilitation of children with mental retardation and other
associated disabilities. The Centre is running a special school with residential and day care
facilities. They are providing special education with supporting services of Therapeutics,
Sports, Games, Recreational and Cultural trainings etc. They are taking care of 50 students in
the Institution from whom no fee is charged.
• Purchase of 40 seater School Bus- School for the Blind run by ‘Service Association
for the Blind’, Gandhinagar Division
Service Associaltion was founded to make 1% of the Indians who are blind, literate and
independent to bring them in to the main stream of Society. It has surveyed more than 80
villages of Gandhinagar district and started blind school in 1995 at Kolwada Taluka,
Gandhinagar. The Institution permits admission to children, irrespective of their religion,
state, caste, creed , culture or class. They provide facilities of hostel, mess, medical aid,
uniform and all the necessary supplements to children without any charges. LIC 40 seater
School Bus for the Blind students for making mobility easy and participating in various
educational and cultural activities, tours and to reach various avenues in order to impart
musical programs.
• Purchase of 40 seater School Bus - Aakansha Shiksha Kalyan Samiti, MDO II
Division
They are providing education to students belonging from Nursery class to 10th class. They
are also providing computer knowledge to adivasi children form Panvel and Palghar area.
They organize different educational trips to various places where children can learn several

things. They are also helping the street children who do not go to schools. The school bus
will be used for pick up and drop facility to the poor students who stay far away from the
school and also for taking children to picnics and field trips.
• Purchase of 36 seater Bus - Ashirwad Trust for Disabled Sayla, Bhavnagar
Division
The trust was founded in 2002 with the help of noted NGOs of Gujarat to offer a superior
service to people with disabilities. The main activities performed by the trust are centre-based
activities which are conducted in the name of two stations: the Ashirwad Day Care Centre
(Sayla) and Kshamata Kendra (Limbdi). The day care resource centers provide guidance and
training to 60 children with multiple disabilities. The 36 seater bus is used for children who
come from the poorest section of society.
• Construction of 3 classrooms, 1 laboratory and Veranda - Koyna Education Society
(Apati High School), Satara Division
Taldeo is the village situated on the top of mountain in Koyana river valley. In 1957 the
construction of the lifeline of Maharashtra i.e. ‘KOYANA DAM’ was started by
Government of India. In the Koyana river valley many small villages are situated and
villagers are very poor. Many villages were affected due to the dam construction.
Rehabitation of many villages was taken place by the Government. But people from these
villages didn’t move anywhere. They placed themselves on the bank of back water of
Koyana dam. Due to the need of these people,Koyana Education Society was established in
1964 and the society started New English School,at Taldeo in 1967. LIC construction of
proper building will be for poor and needy students.
• Construction of Respite Care Centre – Sobti Parents Association , Thane Division
Sobati Parents Association was formed in 2004 when parents of children with blindness or
mental disabilities got together primarily at the behest of National Association of Blind
(NAB) professionals, to create a separate organization to take better care of vocational and
other training needs of these children. Sobati runs with association of NAB. Students are
guided and encouraged to take up primary, secondary and higher secondary exams
conducted by Thane Municipal Corporation. The Association runs two
centers one at Thane and one at Andheri where 18 blind students with multiple disabilities
are being trained under special teachers. Once the construction of Respite Care Centre will
be completed, the Association has proposed to cater to 50 students.
Year 2013-2014
• Construction of a staff room, one class room, two class rooms for vocational
training, one audio visual multipurpose hall and amenities on the first floor of building
Jyoti Special School, Bhopal Division
Jyoti Special School, Bhopal is run by Christu Jyoti Society, Ujjain. The School provides
education and training to the mentally disabled children to ensure their integrated
development and to integrate them with the main stream of the society. Jyoti Special School
is special school for the mentally challenged children in Bhopal. Many of the children are
those whose parents were victims of the gas tragedy in Union Carbide Company twenty
years ago. Construction of a staff room, one class room, two class rooms for vocational
training, one audio visual multipurpose hall and amenities on the first floor of building on
the land owned by Christu Jyoti Society, Ujjain will help them to provide education and
physiotherapy to children from weaker sections of society.
• LIC Special School Bus - Institute for the Handicapped and Backward People,
KMDO II Division
The Institute is a socially responsible non profitable NGO running a composite Special
School for the disabled children free of cost. The Institute is working in 29 blocks under

South 24 Paraganas and Kolkata district. The key target groups are Backward Classes,
SC/ST, Muslim Children and among them girls and children with disability. Special School
Bus will help in ferrying the differently abled students to the School.
• Construction of Ground Floor of hostel building - Shyamchak Pratibandhi Kalvan
Samity, Paschim Medinipur, Kharagpur Division
The Shyamchak Pratibandhi Kalyan Samiti was started with the spirit of sharing, love and
deep concern for the rural poor and handicapped children. The activities of Samiti consist of
arranging eye operation camps for aged persons, Blood donation camps, providing toilets and
supply of clean water to the villages. The Samiti has 321 students out of which 208 are
residential and 113 are day scholar. They have 135 Mentally Retarded students along with 99
Hearing Impaired students and most of the students are orphans. Construction of Ground
floor of hostel building for orphan students will help them to provide sufficient place to
accommodate all the students.
• Construction of three training halls, a library and a toilet on ground floor of
building - Prerona Pratibandhi Sishu Bikash Kendra, Jorhat Division
It is a prime institution in the North East with a mission to empower for proper rehabilitation,
early intervention, education, therapy, vocational training, leisure skills and full participation
to ensure equal right to live for the differently abled children. This Institute is situated at
Cinnamara, 3 kilometers away from the main township in a lush green campus. The main
academic and administrative building has facilities for different activities like physical
therapy, vocational training etc. The Training units will be used to develop trained manpower
so that they are better equipped to take care of the persons with disability.
• LIC TATA Star Bus - Odisha Patita Udhar Samiti, Bhubaneshwar Division
Odisha Patita Udhara Samiti was formed in 1999. The organization provides community
based services in far flung areas and aims to change the behavior of the prisoners for social
mainstreaming by providing education and psycho-social support to their children. The main
Activity of the Samiti is to identify the children of the prisoners of different jails of Odisha
by establishing proper rapport with the jail superintendent and the prisoners. Thereafter the
children of the prisoners are brought to the hostel namely Madhur Mayee Adarsha Sikshya
Niketan for providing them proper accommodation and healthy environment. This bus will
be used for transportation of the children residing in the hostel to reach different schools of
Bhubaneswar in time.
• Construction of Chemistry Laboratory and Physics Laboratory - Shoshit Seva
Sangh, Patna Division II
The institution was established with an aim to provide state of art facilities, comforts and
education to the poorest, landless and deprived children of one particular community –
“Musahars” Soshit Seva Sangh started a fully free English medium residential school for the
children of Musahar Community. As there is lack of literacy and education in this
community, all the new admissions are in the pre-school class (UKG). Total 314 students are
provided with facilities viz. free boarding lodging, food, textbooks, healthcare, computers,
library and uniforms, bedding and stationery free of charge. Construction of laboratories will
be useful for children.
• LIC TATA Magic Bus - Kalyani Charitable Society, Kanpur Division
Kalyani Charitable Society is constituted for training and education of physically, mentally
and socially handicapped children. The school is providing special education, physiotherapy,
speech therapy, behavior modification, vocational training, conveyance, parental counseling,
home based programmes for children who cannot attend regular school and interactive
sessions for teachers. TATA magic Vehicle for transportation of mentally challenged
children will help them to accommodate more number of children.

• Purchase of 24+1 seater Swaraj Mazda Sartaj Model School Bus - Saksham Trust,
Meerut Division
The Trust is running a School for the physically/mentally challenged children with the help
of some individual/institutional donors. The School is providing all the facilities of a day-
boarding school to its children including breakfast and lunch. The School is having 68
children who come from different areas of National Capital Region. Since 90% of children
are from extremely poor families, all these services are provided free of cost. 24+1 seater
school bus will be useful for low income visually impaired multi handicapped children.
• Construction of Training Centre with housing facilities at Block A – Swayamkrushi,
Secunderabad Division
Swayamkrushi, a voluntary organisation located in Trimulgherry Secunderabad, is dedicated
to the rehabilitation and integration of adults with developmental disabilities. Established in
1991, it was the only institution of its kind in India and has spearheaded the movement to
increase awareness and inclusion of adults with developmental challenges in the community.
They place the challenged individuals in ‘Group Homes’ and provide them supervision and
training. The project will improve the living and economic conditions of the disabled
persons.
• Construction of disabled friendly school building – Greenlife Charitable Trust,
Kottayam Division
Green Life Charitable Trust was formed to help the physically and mentally challenged
persons and also rehabilitate patients with cerebral Palsy and other disabilities. Presently
Green life charitable Trust runs two schools one at Kottayam and the other at Palai and have
a total strength of 60 children. Jyothis is a project started by the Trust and is a special school
for children and is providing services like early intervention, special nutrition, infant
stimulation, developmental therapy, special education, disability advisory clinic and supply
of special rehabilitation equipments. The school building will have a training centre with
special features to serve the disabled children population of Kottayam and adjoining districts.
• Construction of free dormitory at Kasturba Gandhi Kanya Gurukulam &
Construction of free dormitory facility on first floor of Sri Thayumanavar Vidyalam,
Vedaraniam - Kasturba Gandhi Kanya Gurukulam, Thanjavur Division
The Kasthurba Gandhi Kanya Gurukulam Trust was established in the year 1946 by Sardar
A.Vedaratnam, an active freedom fighter, in Vedaraniam, a coastal village in Nagapattinam
district of Tamil Nadu. The Trust is engaged in rural development activities in the
surrounding villages and has established training school and conducts training programmes.
The Trust runs various Institutions as follows. Nearly a hundred children attend the school
from the neighboring villages. In addition Kasthurba Gandhi Kanya Gurukulam Teacher
Training Institute for Women was started in the year 2004 wherein 550 students have
completed the two year course for primary teachers. The new hostel/dormitory will give
opportunity to the poor students as well as those who are living in the surrounding areas to
reside and learn.
• Construction of Ground Floor of School Building - Shri Manik Prabhu Shikshan
Samiti, Raichur Division
Shri Manik Prabhu Shikshan Samiti is a non-profit, secular and non sectarian registered
voluntary organization carrying out its activaties in the most neglected and backward area of
northern Karnataka. The Samiti has set up a Special School for visually handicapped
children, an orphanage and a hostel for students from backward community at Maniknagar in
the Bidar District of Karnataka. There was no such institution in the district. Presently 79
blind children are pursuing their studies in this school free of cost. This building is of
immense help to the visually impaired children of the region.

• LIC 54 seater Bus – Fellowship of the Physically Handicapped, MDO I Division
The Institute was founded in 1956 by Smt. Fatima Ismail as a small workshop for a few
adults with disability with the aim of providing training and mutual support to each other.
The Institute runs on a no profit basis and provides vocational training in various trades to
physically and mentally challenged individuals. They provide the trainees with free breakfast
and lunch and also provide subsidized transport facilities. The Institute serves those adults
who have orthopedic disabilities and are in the age group of 18 to 40 years. LIC Bus will
help them to transport the trainees residing in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai to and fro from
their residences.
• Construction of 5 class rooms, 2 toilets and corridor area – Jeevan Vikas Trust,
Surat Division
Jeevan Vikas Trust is a Public Charitable Trust established in 1972 to help mentally retarded
children by giving education and training to enable them to become economically self-
sustained and developed to lead a healthy and normal life. The Trust runs a School cum
Institute which operates a day care school and training Institute for mentally challenged
children. They provide these students basic skills and fundamental concepts which helps
them function as independently as possible in their daily lives. Construction of 5 class rooms,
2 toilets and corridor area will provide better amenities to the children of the Trust.
• Construction of three Classrooms in School Building. - Samaj Prabodhan
Vyaspeeth, Kolhapur Division
The Samaj Prabodhan Vyaspith has been registered under Mumbai Public Trust and the
jurisdiction is Sangmeshwar Tahsil Dist, Ratnagiri region. Their objective is to propagate
advance systems in education in the backward region among the masses by establishing
educational complex including secondary school. The Institution spreads education among
the masses through Educational Institutes i.e. Functioning Secondary School, Junior &
Senior College, Technical School College. Additional class rooms will enable them to
provide better services to the candidates.
• Construction of one Conference Hall, two Rooms, two Toilets, Verandah - YMCA
Gandhidham, Rajkot Division
The YMCA Gandhidham is a locally registered society and is also affiliated to the National
Council of YMCAs of India. The main aim of the Institute is to provide job oriented courses
to the people at the lower strata of community for their capacity building and develop their
skill within a short period in order to enable them to secure a gainful employment.
Construction of 1 Conference Hall, 2 rooms and 2 toilets and verandah which will enable
them to impart education and skills to prepare the youth for entrance tests and examinations
like Indian Police Force, Army/Navy/Air Force etc.
• LIC 32+1seater School Bus - All India Disabled Rehabilitation Educational
Institute, Nashik Division
All India Disabled Rehabilitation Educational Institute for the mentally retarded children was
started in 1984 and is serving the mentally retarded and the hearing impaired children
residing in the vicinity of Nashik. The aim of the Institute is to make educational facilities
available to the disabled, to impart training and try to provide necessary training for mental
development so that they become useful citizens. They provide vocational training such as
production of chalks,candles etc. according to their mental and physical ability. There are
250 students presently in the school and no fee is charged. LIC 35 seater school bus will
provide to and fro conveyance facility to disabled and mentally retarded children from their
houses to school.
• Purchase of School Bus - Kshitij Trust’s Kshitij School for mentally retarded
children, Mumbai III Division

Kshitij is a Trust started by three women Mrs. Anita Dalvi, Mrs. Lakshmi Ranganathan and
Mrs. Gouri Govekar, who decided to start a project in order to do something for the mentally
challenged children. Kshitij School organizes medical checkup camps for mentally
challenged children, Occupational therapy Camps, Parental guidance Seminars, Exhibition
and sale of craft articles made by the school children, awareness program for Dental check
up, health and hygiene etc. LIC school bus has facilitated the children a safe commuting to
school and back home safely.

• LIC School Bus - Arushi Society, Bhopal Division


The Society is highly reputed and is providing physiotherapy, speech therapy, computer
training and vocational training to the disabled persons. The Organization has undertaken
several initiatives for the betterment of the differently abled persons such as development of
instructional material for visually impaired in alternative formats, placement of persons with
disabilities, computer training centre, Panaah, a home for the mentally challenged, a pre
school for children aged 0-6 years and several community based Rehabilitation programmes.
LIC School bus will be used to carry these children to school and back to hostel.
• Construction of Building - Paschim Banga Rajya Pratibandhi Sammelan, Howrah
Division
The organization is providing permanent shelter and training to develop Mentally &
Physically Challenged Persons. Also they are taking steps to increase their self maintenance
capacity and to enable them to take part in productive activities for their economic
rehabilitation. The new Building will enable them to accommodate more number of Mentally
& Physically Challenged Persons
• Construction of Library cum study centre and residential ladies hostel –
Chandanpiri Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, KMDO II Division
The organization has been relentlessly working for the socio-economic empowerment of the
rural community especially for the vulnerable community by implementing various
development projects with the help of dedicated volunteer force and experienced employees.
The number of students in Class V to Class VIII is 165 of which 86 are girls. For the children
belonging to the economically distressed families, a free coaching center has been
functioning for last several years. The new ladies hostel will enable them to accommodate 30
poor girl students studying in the classes Class V to Class VIII.
• Construction of Classroom cum Activity Hall – Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya,
Jorhat Division
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya is a service mission helping in nation building and
development of poor country people. The functioning of the Vivekananda Kerndra Sivasagar
started on 3rd May 2010 and is presently located at Amolapatty of Sivavsagar district which is
a rural area about 13 km away from Sivasagar Distt Hq. The Vidayalaya takes up various
activities for the welfare of the people of nearby villages, like entrepreneurship training,
personality development camp, youth leadership programme, women awareness programme,
health camps etc. New Class room cum Activity hall will enable them to run activities after
school hours and during the holidays for activities for upliftment of the neighborhood.
• Construction of a Hostel Building for boys – Don Bosco Development Society,
Kolkata for RUA Youth Centre Oodlabari, Jalpaiguri Division
Don Bosco Society Kolkata centre was established in the year 1997 and runs an English
medium school for boys and girls. Rua Youth Centre, Oodlabari is a part of Don Bosco
School Kolkata. It was formed to cater to the tribals, Nepalis and local underprivileged

children through the initiative of Salesians of Don Bosco in the year 2002. The school is
located about 50 kms from Jalpaiguri. It is basically in a forest area inhabited by the people
of local tea gardens. There are total 754 students upto class VI and the school is being
upgraded every year and will be seeking affiliation to ICSE Board. A good number of
children will be able to complete their studies by staying in the hostel.
• Construction of first floor of Hostel Building – Dr. Issac Santra Balniketan
Phulijharan, Sambalpur Division
The institution was established in 1979 and provides educational development to orphans and
destitute children who are living in remote socially and economically backward areas which
are having a high level of illiteracy. The institute is taking care of 55 inmates in the hostel
building. The new hostel building will enable them to accommodate the girls separately.
• LIC TATA Winger School Bus – Nai Dharti, Patna II Division
Nai Dharti is an NGO, registered u/s 21 of Societies Registration Act 1860, providing food,
shelter and education to the deprived girls. The organization provides education, shelter,
rehabilitation and economic empowerment through various programmes. They have an all
women Executive Committee consisting of teachers, bankers and social workers. There are
50 students out of which 20 are residing in Hostel and 30 are day scholar. The LIC Bus will
enable them to provide better services to students.
• LIC vocational centre - Badhir Kalyan Samiti, Jodhpur Division
The institution is a registered NGO working since 1984 looking after (1) Gandhi Badhir Sr.
Secondary School, (2) Gandhi Mook Badhir Boy’s Hostel & (3) Gandhi Mook Badhir Girls
Hostel at Jodhpur where free education is being imparted to at present 196 students who are
deaf and dumb. It is an institution providing education free of cost and hostel facilities to
hearing and speech impaired students. Construction of Vocational Centre will be benefit to
the children of the School.
• Construction of Rooms and Toilet blocks in girls hostel – Vanvasi Kanya
Chhatravas Samiti, Haldwani Division
The Samiti is working for the welfare and rehabilitation of children of families who suffered
in Naxalite and terrorist hit North Eastern parts of the country and are dedicated to working
for the welfare and development of girls from such areas. They are providing free education
to the 75 girls from class III to Graduation level and encourage cultural development and
inculcate Indian Patriotism. The construction of rooms and toilet will be used as residential
purposes of ST girl students in the organization’s campus at Jagatpura.
• Construction of four additional classrooms - Isha Education, Vellore Division
Isha Foundation is a nonprofit NGO with headquarters at Coimbatore. “IshaVidya” is the
rural school initiative of Isha foundation carried out under a separate trust viz.“Isha
Education”. Their aim is to provide high quality school education to underprivileged rural
children who cannot otherwise afford it. Seven such schools are running in the villages in the
districts of Coimbatore,Erode, Nagercoil,,Tuticorin, Villupuram, Salem and Cuddalore which
are serving 3450 children.Construction of additional classroom can accommodate 40 children
and the laboratories will help in providing better education and improve the infrastructure of
the school.
• Construction of Golden Jubilee Hall - VidyabhivridhiSangha, Shimoga Division
The society is running the school since 1962 spreading literacy activities in the area. Their
aim is to provide quality education through Audio-visual teaching aids like computers, LCD
Projectors, CD Library etc. which help the students to comprehend the concepts easily. It has
a Kannada medium high school section, Arts & Commerce pre-university college section,

• Construction of College Building – Anathasevashrama Trust, Shimoga Division
The Trust is catering to the needs of the rural poor people by providing education,
particularly financially and socially backward people. The Trust provides education to the
economically backward from all over Karnataka irrespective of caste and religion and
students who can not afford the fees to be paid to get admission in advanced, high-tech P.U.
colleges in bigger cities. The Trust is running 14 different educational institutions for
Primary, High School and ITI in Maladihalli and 6 Institutions in the State. A total number of
3094 children are studying in the Institution. The new college building for Sri Raghavendra
Independent P.U. Science College will facilitate poor students of rural area.
• Construction of School Building – Taruna Bharathi Trust, Shimoga Division
The Trust came into existence as a brain child of committed activists, volunteers and youths
to work for the protection of the national pride, national sentiment and national fervor. Since
then several programmes have been held, literary and cultural shows have been staged to
showcase the character and values of our country. The Trust runs a High School, a Higher
Primary School, Two Kindergartens and “Matru Bharathi” for women and “Bala Gokula” for
kids. The School caters to the education needs of about 540 students. The new school
building will motivate children intellectually, physically, psychologically, emotionally and
spiritually ensuring the overall development of a child.
• Construction of Golden Jubilee Science Laboratory and Library – Ikkeri Education
Society, Shimoga Division
Ikkeri Education Society is a registered society and is undertaking various activities in the
field of Education, Culture, Music, Growing of plants etc. The Society started in 1966 for the
purpose of promoting education in the surrounding areas for Higher Secondary as there was
no High School. The inhabitants are mostly from families which belong to socially
backward, socially oppressed class and agriculture laborers. The Society is running a High
School – VIII, IX and X standard classes and 100% result is registered in 2011-12. More than
3000 students have completed their secondary education in the School so far. The
establishment of Library and Science Laboratory would enable the children to understand the
subject in a better manner either by observing or by personally performing the experiments.
• LIC School Bus – Shri Vidya’s Centre for Special Children, Secunderabad Division
The institution is imparting training/education to a group of around 150 children from
different places in the city. The centre has a day school as well as residential facility, which
caters to 50 students. The school also conducts extracurricular activities like music and
dance, excursions, games and cooking. LIC Bus will enable them to transport children for
daily sessions of physiotherapy and school daily to improve their quality of life.

Amravati Division
This is a residential school which provides education upto 7th standard. They have a batch of
16 students for higher education for 8th, 9th and 10th standard and they attend a zonal parishad
school which is 4 kms away. The School also has a branch at Paratwada which is 6 kms away
from Amravati and provides education to blind children till 4th and 5th standard. These
children are transported home after their vacation. There are 175 students in the School. LIC
school bus will be used to transport children of 8th, 9th and 10th standard to school and also to
develop the students personality in areas such as sports, music etc. by taking them to
participate in various activities related to these areas.

children in backward area. They are having 350 students on rolls studying in 5th to 10th

Division
The Deevalaya Schools (both primary and secondary with higher secondary unit) are situated
on Dhamni road, Fulwadi Village, which is a remote underdeveloped tribal area in South
Gujarat and is 11 kms from Dharampur town and caters to children coming from Dharmapur
and Kaperpada talukas. Deevalaya Trust is working for the poorest of poor people in tribal
area. Ground floor of school building will consist of two class rooms and library of the
school building which will be benefit to the children of the School.

This organization is managing a hostel with training centre for Blind, deaf, disabled girls
with 14 employees. This organization is caring for shelter, education and vocational training
to these people. LIC school bus for blind children with the capacity of carrying 95 students
will help the organization to carry students to the school.
• LIC Hostel – Nimtouri Tamluk Unnayan Samity, Kharagpur
The samiti is working for education, health, cultural development and rehabilitation of
backward and disadvantaged group of society for last 10 years. Their aim is to help the
differently abled children and young adults to become self sufficient and self reliant adults
helping them to develop their potential to the maximum of ability. LIC hostel building will
be used for girl’s hostel to provide them facilities of education and vocational training.
• LIC AC Bus – AHEAD, Rehabilitation and Research Institute
The Institute is running a school for the mentally challenged and autistic children to provide
them professional education and therapy for overcoming the various disabilities from which
they suffer and also to provide guidance to parents/ guardians for forming self help groups.
LIC bus will help in transportation of these children who are coming from distant areas.
• LIC School Building – Voice of World, KMDO II
This is a multi unit multifunctional social welfare organization for the handicapped, the
visually challenged children, orphans, destitute women, elderly persons detached form the
families, mentally retarded children, etc coming from very economically backward families
of rural Bengal. LIC school building will help them to run a junior high school with capacity
of 120 handicapped students.
• LIC Class rooms - Satgachi UP School, Kolkata
It is a primary school run by the committee constituted of eminent people of the locality. The
School has taken the task of providing primary education which is considered to be the basic
need for the children of maid servants. LIC Class rooms will help them to provide basic
education to these otherwise deprived children.
• LIC Three Class Rooms - Tibrinath Sangaved Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya under
Bareilly Division
The college aims to promote and conserve Indian Culture and Sanskrit language and is a
residential college based on Gurukul system. In addition to teaching Sanskrit language as per
the University curriculum children are also taught Vedas/ Indian rituals/ music etc to help

to provide better services to the mentally handicapped children.

books and notes for their blind inmates which will help in their students.

Division
This is a non-Government Organisation working for the all round development of the
handicapped children of the tribal belt. The aim of the ashram is to open a vocational training
cum ashram school for handicapped children. LIC School building will enable students to
avail residential and non residential facilities of the school building. There are 60 residential
and 15 non residential students at Katai.
• LIC Roofing of open playground – Miriam Society for the Mentally Handicapped,
Bhopal
The School is dedicated to the education and training of the Mentally Challenged. They are
working for a noble cause which will lead to better health of mentally retarded people. LIC
roofing of open playground will enable these children to utilize it when weather conditions
are adverse.

The Institution with utmost social objectives is committed to a noble cause of taking care of

This NGO strives to give persons with disabilities an opportunity to recognize and enhance

Mithram works for the welfare of the physically and mentally challenged people of Pallichal

Division
This is a leading institution for various welfare activities for blind in Bhopal for last 39 years
where they provide food, clothing, medical facilities, education up tp 12th vocational &
recreation facilities to the blind inmates free of cost. LIC Computer Centre will provide
computer education to the blind students through a special software where they can learn by
hearing the voice.
• LIC Hostel - Sri Ramakrishna Vivekananda Sevashram, Annupur under Shahdol
Division
The organization is working in the field of tribal girls education and health care since 1995 in
Pushparajgrah block of Annuppur District. Their aim is to create awareness among the poor
tribals of the area in general and women in particular through best possible education and
health care, awareness towards positive social economic empowerment facilitating the
development process for all round progress of down trodden. LIC Hostel Building will help
these tribal girls to take free education.
• LIC School- Sishupathsala H S School, Dhubri under Bongaigaon Division
It is one of the oldest and prominent School in the State of Assam and around 60 % of
students of the School hail from the poor and down trodden section of the society. At present
there are 625 students, LIC School will enable them give better infrastructure and increase
the existing capacity.
• LIC Equipments - Bhagat Puran Singh School of Deaf under Amritsar Division
The society runs five educational institutions for normal, special and deaf children. These
schools provide free education to all students. Deaf children are provided free hostel
accommodation, education as well as stationery. LIC equipments will be utilized for two
additional classes in the school.
• LIC Wing – Mariampur High School, Kanpur under Kanpur Division
The School is a charitable institution engaged in imparting education to the children from
nearby slums, whose parents are migrants from UP & Bihar looking for jobs but unable to
secure jobs in the industrial sectors. Hundreds of poor children are accommodated in the
school and with minimum resources maximum facility is given to the children without any
consideration of caste and creed. LIC GJF has donated funds for development of land for
Stadium cum Playground and furniture for School for these slum children.

Division
This is one of the oldest Inter college of the City engaged in providing best education with
the help of qualified and experienced teachers to the children who are economically
backward on nominal fees. LIC Computer Centre will help them to provide job oriented /
technical knowledge free of cost to around 1800 students.
• LIC Wing – Isha Education, Coimbatore under Coimbatore Division
This organization was founded as a means to transform the lives of rural children by
providing affordable, high-quality education where it is otherwise unavailable. At present
there are 363 students from LKG through 4th standard. LIC Wing will enable them to
increase the student body to 450 in the academic year starting June 2009, with roughly 60%
of the student supported by full scholarships.

The institution is well known worldwide for its services and is fast growing with numerous

Sahayaya Samiti, Jodhpur DO
The Samiti is a registered body under Societies Act working since 1975 for the welfare of
handicapped. It is providing calipers for physically handicapped and hearing aids to deaf &
mute. It is also engaged for rehabilitation of women by providing them self employment
through its women cell. LIC vehicle will provide benefit in bringing handicapped persons,
deaf and dumb from villages to their centres for providing them Jaipur foot, calipers, wheel
chairs and hearing aids.
• LIC Wing - Asansol Braille Academy, Burdwan under Asansol Division
The residential school for blind where free food, lodging, education as well as study material
is provided to the inmates who belong to the poorest stratum of W.B. and also Jharkhand
State. Already 45 students up to Class II and 15 administrative staffs man the organization,
LIC Wing will enable them to provide education up to Class IV
• LIC Bus - Tapovan Manovikas Vidyalaya, Sriganganagar under Bikaner Division
This is a residential co-educational institute for mentally retarded children and is providing
rehabilitative services since 1991. No fees is charged from the students. At present, there are
129 children in Day Care Centre and 60 in Hostel to whom they provide special education,
speech therapy, physiotherapy and vocational training, etc. LIC bus will be utilized for
transportation of their inmates who are coming to Day Care Centre from nearby villages and
belong to poor sections of the society.
• LIC Bus - Netraheen Vikas Sansthan, Jodhpur under Jodhpur Division
The Institution provides free Boarding, Lodging, medical facilities and studies to all their
inmates since 1977. At present there are 363 students out of which 107 students are
physically and mentally impaired. LIC Bus will be utilized for transportation of students.
• LIC Auditorium - Pramilabai Chavan School for the Deaf managed by All India
Deaf and Dumb Society, Delhi under Delhi Division II
This School provide education to deaf students and help them for their future progress and
development. They have an arrangement with National Institute of Open Schooling whereby

on roll from nursery to 8th class. LIC Auditorium will be utilized for multipurpose

The Institute operates a Day Care and Residential Centre for both boys and girls with mental
retardation and hearing impairment where they provide the education as well as vocational
training and job placements to their inmates. LIC Bus will provide transportation to these

Division IV
This is one of the oldest institution in the service of the blind, since 1902 and it is dedicated
to the education and rehabilitation of the visually challenged, making the institution with
futuristic perspectives. LIC Wing will enable them to provide better facilities to their
inmates.
• LIC Wing - National Association for Welfare of Physically Handicapped (NAWPH),
Chikhaldara under Amravati Division
This Residential School for the Blind, Chikhaldara was established in the year 1991 and has
been working to educate visually impaired children from Melghat Tribal Region of Vidarbha.
LIC Wing will enable them to upgrade the school up to Std 10th and to increase its strength
up to 250.
• LIC Vocational Training Centre-cum-Hostel - Swami Satyanand Saraswati Vaani
School & Research Centre, Meerut under Meerut Division
The Institution provides high quality academic education to 102 Hearing Handicapped and
28 Mentally Challenged students free of charges to enable them to become useful, productive
and self supporting members of the Society. LIC Vocational Training Centre-cum-Hostel
will provide the disabled not only variety of vocational courses but also courses which are

This institute is working for the hearing impaired children right from their birth for detection,
imparting education, training and rehabilitation. At present there are 282 deaf students in the
institution to whom they give all facilities free of cost. LIC Hostel will accommodate
approximately 70 girls.
• LIC School Building - Sri Tulsi Pragya under Satna Division
The society was established for deaf children belonging to deprived and poor sections of the
society. They are providing free accommodation, food, medical aid, clothing and other daily
needs and in addition to vocational courses for these deaf students. LIC residential block of
school building will provide residence to 125 blind and 100 deaf children.
Year 2008-2009
• LIC Computer Laboratory - Don Bosco School, Guwahati under Guwahati Division
LIC Computer Laboratory will cater to 2000 students of Snehalaya, including Evening Batch
students, who are coming from economically weaker section. It will also cater to the children
studying in various schools managed by Don Bosco NGO’s and other related educational
institutes.
• LIC Common Room for Multicultural activity- Dasghara High School, Hooghly
Under Howrah Division
The school caters to a large section of underprivileged students i.e. around 1500 students will
be benefited for using LIC Common Room for Multicultural activity.
• LIC School – Mohitnagar Colony Taraprasad Balika Vidyalaya, Mohitnagar under
Jalpaiguri Division

This is the only girls high school in the area and around 55% of students come from lower
strata of the society mostly below poverty line. LIC School Building for 750 such girls will
help in spreading the education.
• LIC Library - Kharagpur Priyanath Roy Vidyaniketan, Malancha under
Kharagpur Division
LIC Library will provide reading facility to about 1000 students and teachers of the above
school as well as the people from surrounding locality.
• LIC Class Rooms – Barrackpore Girls High School, 24 Paraganas (North) under
Kolkata Suburban Division
At present there are around 2500 students in the school from which 1900 get education at
free of cost. Extention of School Building will enable the school to accommodate more
students who are coming basically from rural area.
• LIC Computer Lab – Patulia Girls High School, 24 Paraganas under Kolkata
Suburban Division
The girls school is situated in deep rural area and LIC Computer Lab will impart free
computer education to around 700 students every year.
• LIC School - Gram Vikas Samiti, Samastipur under Muzaffarpur Division
LIC Gram Vikas School is committed to eradicate child labour and aimed at providing
education to around 150 children from socio-economically weaker section who are working
in fields, factories, and homes.
• LIC Library - Navjyot India Foundation under Delhi DO-III
One innovative project that facilitates higher learning, the Foundation has set up a library
under the aegis of Navjyoti India Foundation, which is being run under the tutelage of Dr.
Kiran Bedi,winner of the Ramon Magsasay Award and a very eminent personality in the
realm of social welfare. The objective of LIC Library is creating an atmosphere for education
and learning for the rural children which will provide them with books to help them in
inculcating a habit of learning and also enhance creativity, expressions, confidence and
responsibility amongst them.Around 100 students from government schools will be benefited
each year.
• LIC Residential Resource and Vocational Training Centre - National Association
for the Blind (NAB) under Haldwani Division
LIC Residential Resource and Vocational Training Centre is for providing improved and
regular training to 47 (5 yrs to 14 years visually impaired student) and 112 registered adult
blind. This is the first and only institute in Kumaon Region working for the welfare of the
blind.
• LIC Bus - Handicapped Development Council (Institute for Mentally
Handicapped), under Agra division
The LIC BUS will facilitate to save the recurring expenses of the Institute incurred towards
transportation of 131 mentally challenged students who are scattered through out the Agra
City.
• LIC Vocational Rehabilitation Centre - CSI Balar Gnana Illam under Salem
Division
The infrastructure development provided at LIC Vocational Rehabilitation Centre will enable
the school to contribute not only for learning of the group of mentally challenged children in
a conducive environment but also help the children in their journey to become independent
through development of mental faculties. It will accommodate around 136 students.
• LIC Learning Centre - Malenadu Education and Rural Development Society, Sirsi
under Dharwad Division
LIC Learning Centre will provide education to around 98 under privileged children and to

promote all round development of the children of rural areas.
• LIC Hostel – Vanvasi Kalyana, Chipageri under Dharwad Division
Vanavasi Kalyan is striving to inculcate value based development of boys of tribals and
forest Dwellers in the fields of education, preserving and developing cultural activities,
Health, Finance and protection of their interests to make them self reliant with self respect.
At present there are around 50 students. LIC Hostel will increase their capacity and enable
the poor tribals residing inforest area, near Chippageri to attend school, which will help
towards enhancement of literacy and economic condition.
• LIC School Building - Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Sarvajanik Shikshan Mandal's Lok
Vidyalaya, Tulsani under Kolhapur Division
This school is 42 years old which is on the way to Devrukh, Ratnagiri and 14 km away form
Taluka Place. They want to provide modern facilities in the school i.e. school building, water
facility, well equipped laboratory, computer room, library and Gymnastic hall etc. LIC
school Building will give the education for 270 rural children in this area.
• LIC School Bus - Little Angels School, Bandra under Mumbai Division I
It is a school for multiple disabled children. LIC School bus will help in transporting such
children from different parts of the city.
• LIC Hall - National Association for the welfare of the Physically Handicapped
under Nagpur
LIC Hall is provided for around 50 blind handicapped, deaf & dumb children/ students of
poor families. Imparting vocational training and education with hostel facilities are provided
by the organization.
• LIC Residential & Vocational Centre for training the girls and women - Society of
the Daughters of the Cross, Ankleshwar under Vadodara Division
LIC Residential & Vocational Centre will provide focus on integral development and
Empowerment of around 185 girls and women in the tribal area.
• LIC Vocational Training Hostel - Rural Health & Welfare Programme, Sakwar
under Thane Division
LIC Vocational Training Hostel is situated in a very rural & tribal area 20 Km away from
Virar.Hundred students will be benefited by this scheme every year by way of free vocational
training and boarding, so that they can earn their livelihood.

•LIC Library - Anand Kendra, under Gwalior Division


The Kendra has free schooling and hostel facility for Tribal children. LIC Library will
facilitate the children further.
• LIC Educational Wing - Tinisuti Bima School, under Guwahati Division
Tinisuti is a remote village in the backward tribal area under Guwahati Division. This is the
only High School in the area. LIC Educational Wing will benefit about 300 students in the
school.
• LIC Educational Wing - Marudyan Primary & Junior High School, Dhanpota,
Kolkata under KMDO-II
This school is situated in an under-developed block of Magrahat of South 24 Paraganas in
West Bengal. LIC Educational Wing will provide benefit to about 600 students in the school.
• LIC Community Hall - Sr. Secondary School Surani, under Shimla Division
This school is located in a remote village Surani in Kangra distt.of Himachal Pradesh.
Construction of community hall will fulfill multipurpose needs of the school. LIC
Community Hall will benefit about 575 students in the school.

• LIC Educational Block - Sai Vivekanand Vidyalaya, under Chennai Division-2
The school caters to the needs of the lower income group families. LIC Educational Block
will benefit about 500 students in the school.
• LIC- School Library - Govt. Upper Primary School, Bheemanad under Ernakulam
Division
This school is situated in a very backward area in the district of Palakkad in Kerala. LIC-
School Library will provide books and reading material to students who are unable to pursue
their studies due to lack of infrastructure
