WORK PLAN

I. TITLE: SETTING UP LAC SESSION AREA WITH ICT BLEND

II. Proponent: WILHELMINA PALIJO MATA

III. RATIONALE

DepEd Order no. 35, s. 2016, reiterates the necessity of the Learning
Action Cell as a school-based continuing professional development
strategy for the improvement of teaching and learning. Hence, there is a
need to set up an exclusive area where the teachers could have their LAC
session regularly and comfortably.

The enclosed LAC session area will have a SMART-INTERNET Ready


Led TV to be used by the teachers to enhance their professional learning
as they undergo school-based professional development. The presence of
this technology in the LAC session area would greatly enhance the
teachers’ knowledge and skills in their use of ICT integration in their
classes; thereby, improving quality instruction in their subject areas.

Aside from the table and mono block chairs, the enclosed LAC session
area will have also a cabinet for the hand-outs, reference materials and
other learning resources which are readily available for the teachers during
their learning sessions. An air condition unit will also be installed for a
more conducive learning environment for the teachers.

Improving and making the LAC session area conducive, beneficial and
comfortable will contribute to quality learning on the part of the teachers
which will ultimately redound to quality teaching for the students.

IV. PLAN OF ACTION

A. Objectives:

General:

1. Enclose a portion of the guidance and head teacher’s office to serve as


a LAC session area for teachers;
2. Equip the area with a SMART-Internet ready television and an air-
condition unit;

Specific:

 Enhance the teaching capabilities of the forty three (43) teachers in


providing quality instruction to the one thousand three hundred
eighty students of Sta. Ana Fishery National High School;

 Provide both a venue and avenue for teachers to enhance their


ICT skills for instructional purposes;

 Establish a fixed LAC session area as well as a place for post


conference discussion after class observation is conducted;

 Provide a more conducive place for teachers to have their LAC


sessions and focused group discussions (FGD) comfortably.

B. Time Frame: June 2016 to December 2016

The target time is supposed to be within the first semester so that the
teachers could start using the area by the second semester.

C. Clientele: Forty three (43) Teachers

The target clientele who would benefit from the project would be the forty
three (43) teachers of the school and the ultimate beneficiaries would be
the one thousand three hundred eighty students of these teachers.

V. IMPACT OF THE WORK PLAN

DepEd Order no. 35, s. 2016 emphasizes the importance of the


Learning Action Cell as a K to 12 basic education program school-based
continuing professional development strategy for the improvement of
teaching and learning. Hence, the need to institutionalize LAC session
activities focused on enhancing the teaching strategies of teachers with
emphasis on ICT integration in their classes.

Through LAC session, teachers’ issues, problems and other concerns


in relation to their students, subjects and other matters pertaining to their

teaching roles, duties, responsibilities and/or functions would be


immediately addressed.

With the institutionalization of the LAC session in the school, the


establishment and development of a regular LAC session area where the
teachers in their chosen field could regularly meet and conduct their
professional exchange of ideas would facilitate LAC sessions. Providing
the session area with a SMART-Internet ready Television would greatly
enhance the learning sessions and professional discussions since these
will be supported with resources from various websites. This will form part
also of a hands-on ICT training for the teachers which they could apply
later in their classroom instruction.

The LAC session area will also serve as a resource area where
teachers could be assisted in down loading instructional materials from the
web to aid their instruction. Thus, making learning for their students more
interesting, up to date and relevant to the demands of the global society.
