LESSON PLAN

Class: a IX-a Filologie
Topic: A ROLLING STONE GATHERS NO MOSS
Level: Intermediate
Time of lesson: 50 minutes

Objectives:
By the end of the lesson learners will be able to:
 extract requested information from a text;
 understand the global meaning of a text;
 practice speaking spontaneously and fluently about something that
may provoke the use of words and phrases they have learnt recently;

Lesson aims:

 to develop students’ ability to listen to and extract information from


an authentic listening
 to develop students intensive reading
 to improve their understanding of spoken English

Skills: reading, listening, speaking

Materials: textbook, worksheets, board, cassette, overhead projector, laptop


Methods: conversation, explanation, example, pair work,
commentary,group work, dialogue

Anticipated problems: Ss may have problems in solving the exercises.


Classroom organization: teacher checks the absents and prepare the class
for the lesson.2’

ACTIVITY 1
Aim: to introduce the Ss to the new lesson by creating a relaxed atmosphere
Procedure Interaction Timing
Teacher asks Ss to listen to the song „Crossing borders” , while listenig Ss
have to fill in the gaps with different words related to travelling. Teacher

checks the answers and then she writes the title of the lesson on the board
and asks the students the meaning. Ss answer.

ACTIVITY 2
Aim: -to attract students’ attention on the topic
Procedure Interaction Timing
Teacher asks students what kind of holiday they like and look at the pictures
, describe them and say what is their reaction to them. Ss answer. [T-Ss] 5’

ACTIVITY 3
Aim: - to develop students intensive listening
Procedure Interaction Timing
Teacher asks students to listen and repeat the sentences. Ss listen and follow
the lines. Ss study the sentences for tow minutes then close their books and
they try to rememner as many sentences as they can. Ss listen to some
dialogues about holidayd after they have listened they match the dialogue
with the topics. Teacher checks Ss’s answer.

ACTIVITY 4
Aim: -to introduce new items of vocabulary
Procedure Interaction Timing
Teacher gives the students cards, on some cards there are some words from
the text, on the others there are the explanations of the words or synonims.
In groups students have to match the cards. Ss solve the task. T checks Ss’
answers. Students write the unknown words into their copybooks. [GW]10’

ACTIVITY 5
Aim: : to extract requested information from a text;
Teacher asks students to read the dialogues in pairs and match the statements
to the people. Ss read the dialogues.

Ss gives awards to the most competitive students.


Homework
Write a pharagraph about your last summer holiday.
