AL-MUSABBA`ATUL `ASHRI (THE SEVEN-
FOLD PRAYER) {From the Ahzab & Awrad of
Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani} Translation,
Transliteration & Introduction facilitated
by: Imam Hassan Cisse ("African American Islam
Institute (AAII)") Introduction Musabba`atul
`Ashri gives the beginner secret lights and the one
who is far along in his travels, divine lights, and
Allah will open up for him the doors of Khayraat
(goodness/blessings) and increase him in it. Allah
will extinguish the heart of the desires of the Nafs
(Lower Self), and will provide blessings in his deen
and in his daily life and in the hereafter. Allah will
cause blessed lights to enter the body and beautify
it. This du`a enriches the one who reads it and
causes ease to come when difficulty is at hand, and
it removes harm and protects against evil ones, the
envious ones, and against Shaytan. This du`a
contains the "Ism al-`Azam (The Greatest Name
[of Allah])" and the reading of it causes any eye
which fall upon you to like you. And if Allah is
asked by this du`a, Allah gives it to you. Its uses
are many, and Allah knows best. May Allah bless
those Students who are constant in their work.

`ASHRI (THE SEVEN-FOLD PRAYER) Intention
(Niyyah); Allahumma innee nawaytu an
ataqarraba ilaika, bi-tilawwati musabba`aatul
`ashri, biniyyati ta`abudi-llahi ta`alaa, wa bi-
niyyati tahasuni bihaa, wa bi-niyyati tah-seeli
jamee`i maa lahaa minal khawaasi, wal
karaamaati, wal khayraati, wal barakaati, wal
futuuhaati fee deeni wa dunyaa wal aakhirati.
Innaka `alaa kulli shay'in qadeer!!! Oh Allah! I
intend to move closer to you, with the recitation of
musabba`aatul `ashri (the seven-fold prayer),
with the intention of worshipping Almighty God,
and with the intention of seeking fortitude
therefrom, and with the intention of achieving all
things, from the special (divine benevolence) and
charismatic (divine gifts) and goodness and
blessings and divide gnosis (experiential
knowledge of Allah)...in the religion and the world
and in the hereafter. Verily, You (Allah) have
Power/Control over all things!!! Then recite the
below surahs (Qur'an Chapters) seven times each:
Sura Fatiha: Bismi-llahir Rahmanir Raheem. Al
Hamdu li-llahir Rabbil `Alameen. Ar Rahmanir
Raheem. Maliki yaumid deen. Iyyaka na`budu wa
iyyaka nasta`een. Ihdinas siratal mustaqeem.
Siratal lazeena an`amta alayhim, ghayril
maghdoobi `alayhim, wa lad daaleen. Ameen Sura
Qul a`oozu bi Rabbin Nas: Bismi-llahir Rahmanir
Raheem Qul 'a'oodzu bi Rabbin-naas Malikin-naas
'Illahin-naas Min sharril-waswassil khanaas
'Allazee yuwaswisu fee sudurin naas Minal jinnati
wan-naas. Sura Qul a`oozu bi Rabbil Falaq: Bismi-
llahir Rahmanir Raheem Qul 'a'oozu bi Rabbil
falaq Min-sharri maa khalaq Wa min sharri
ghasiqin izaa waqab Wa min sharrin naffaathati fil
u'qad Wa min sharri haasidin 'izaa hasad. Sura
Qul Huw-Allahu Ahad (Ikhlas): Bismi-llahir
Rahmanir Raheem Qul Huw-Allahu Ahad Allahus-
Samad Lam yalid wa lam yoolad Wa lam yakul-
lahoo kufuwan Ahad. Sura Qul ya Ayyuha l-
Kafirun: Bismi-llahir Rahmanir Raheem Qul yaa
ayuhal kaafiruun Laa a'budu maa ta'budoon Wa
laa antum a'abidoona ma a'bud Wa laa ana
''aabidum maa abadttum Wa laa antum 'aabidoona
maa a'bud Lakum deenakum waliya deen. Ayyatul
Kursi: (seven times): "Allahu la ilaha illa huwal
Hayyul Qayyuum; La ta`khudhu-hoo sinatun wa la
naum; Lahoo ma fi samaawaati wa ma fil ard;
Mandha-lladhi yashfa`u `inda-hoo illa bi idhni-
hee; Ya`lamu ma baina aidihim wa ma khalfahum,
Wa la yuhitoona bi shai'in min `ilmihi illla bi maa
sha'a; Wasi`a kurseeyuhu samaawaati wal ard; Wa
la ya`ooduhu hifzu huma wa huwal `Aliyyul
`Azeem." "Allah is He besides who there is no God,
The Ever-Living, The Self-Subsisting, by whom all
things subsist; Slumber does not overtake Him nor
sleep; Whatever is in the heavens, and whatever is
in the earth, is His; Who is he that can intercede
with Him but by His Permission? He knows what
is before them and what is behind them And they
cannot comprehend anything out of His
knowledge, except what He pleases; His
Knowledge extends over the heavens and the
earth; And the preservation of them both tires
Him not, And He is The Most High, The Great."
Ameen! Then say seven times: Subhaana-llahi, wal
hamdu li-llahi, wa la ilaha illa-llahu wal-llahu
Akbar, wa la haula wa la quwwata illa bi-llahil
`aliyyil `azeem. `Adada maa `alima wa mil'a maa
`alima wa zinata maa `alima. Glory be to Allah,
and Praise be to Allah, and There is no god but
Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, and there is no
might and no power except by Allah the Most
High, the Most Magnified. By the number of what
Allah knows, the full (extent) of what Allah knows,
and the weight of what Allah knows. Then say
seven times: Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidinaa
Muhammadin `abdika, wa Nabiyyika, wa
Rasuulika an-Nabiyyil Ummiyyi, wa `alaa aalihi
wa sahbihi wa sallama tasleeman. Oh Allah!
Shower thy blessings on our master Muhammad
your servant, and your Prophet, and your
messenger the unlettered Prophet, and on his
family and his companions peace and security.
Then say seven times: Allahumma ighfirlee, wa li-
walidayya, wa lil mumineena, wal muminaati, wal
muslimeena, wal muslimaatil ahya'i minhum wal
amwaati. Oh Allah! Forgive me, and my parents,
and the believing men, and the believing women,
and the Muslim men, and the Muslim women, the
alive of them, and the dead. Then say seven times:
Allahumma -if`al bee wa bihim `aajilan wa aajilan,
fee d-deeni wa d-dunyaa, wal aakhirati maa inta
lahu ihlun, wa laa taf`al binaa, wa bihim yaa
maulaanaa maa nahnu lahu ihlun. Innaka
Ghafuurun Haleemun Jawwaadun Kareemun
Ra`uufun Raheem. Oh Allah! Do with us in our
situations, the sooner and the later, concerning
(in) the religion and the worldly things (life), and
the hereafter what (Allah) deserves to do, and
don't do to us and to all those we have prayed for
what we deserve, but we are asking you to do to us
what you deserve to do. Surely you are Forgiving,
Clement, Liberal, Generous, Compassionate,
Beneficent. Read this afterwards, three times:
Allahumma bi nurika ihtadaytu, wa bi fadlika
asta`amtu, wa bika l asbahtu, wa amsaytu dhunubi
kathiratun bayna yadayka astaghfiru-llaha wa
atubu ilayka, ya hannanu ya manaanu as'alukal
amna wal amaanu min zawaalil imaani wal `afuu
`amma madaa wa kaana bi Rahmatika ya Arhama
Rahimeen. Then say: Ya Rabbahu (3times) Ya
Jabbaru (21times) Then say once (1): Allahumma ,
inni a`uudhu bika min sharril fadeehatayni wa
zulmatil `aynayni bi hurmati jaddi al hasnayni wa
salla-llahu `alaa Sayyidinaa Muhammadin wa
`alaa aalihi wa sallim. You read in the morning
and evening as a wird. May Allah bless those
