Scope of Job
The following items which will be removed from Gas turbines - 3, 4, 5 & 6 during the forthcoming
annual combustion Inspection are required to be refurbished for using them during next Inspection/
overhaul / emergency.
For refurbishment of above mentioned item no.1, the following spares item nos. 6 to 12 are required
and for refurbishment of item no. 2(combustion liners) the spare item no. 13 is required based on the
condition of individual components. Agency has to replace the below mentioned spares while
refurbishment, after obtaining necessary confirmation from HPCL.
Note: The exact quantities for the above spare Item Nos. 6 to 13 will be known only after dismantling,
cleaning and inspection of the item Nos. 1 & 2 (Fuel Nozzle Assemblies and Cap & Liner Assemblies
of Fr-5 GTGs). Hence, quantities for the spares are not mentioned.
Annexure - I (4 pages)to RFQ: 12000270-HA-46002/MVN
1. After receipt of the Fuel nozzle assemblies to agency’s work, agency to perform incoming
inspection.
2. To carry out existing ‘as it is’ flow testing of the fuel nozzles.
3. Dis-assemble the fuel nozzle assemblies and carryout pressure testing of the fuel nozzle
body.
4. Clean the fuel nozzle body & its internals to remove the deposits.
5. Carry out Visual inspection, dimensional inspection & Dye-penetrant inspection of nozzle
body and its internal parts and accordingly report the same to the HPCL concerned
authority.
6. Carryout weld repairs of worn out areas on Gas tip collars and subsequently machine the
same to required dimensions.
7. Carry out fuel nozzle assembly along with internals (Replace with new internals as
identified based on incoming inspection)
8. Apply required torque during assembly as per the specifications mentioned in the
drawings.
9. After Fuel nozzle assembly, perform the pressure testing & flow testing of the fuel
nozzles.
10. Arrange the fuel nozzles to meet the range as mentioned in the drawings & punch mark
the fuel nozzle location number on the fuel nozzles itself for easy identification during
installation at site. Also the punched marked location to be carried out at one same
location for the whole set of fuel nozzle assembly & the location to be intimated in the
soft copy report.
11. Carryout stacking of the lock plate to the fuel nozzle body and gas tips.
12. Apply thermal resistant paint.
13. Preserve the Nozzle assemblies, pack for shipment & submit the final report in Soft copy
form.
Note: During refurbishment of the fuel nozzles, Gasket with BHEL Part No. 35406020 &
Locking Plate with BHEL Part No. 35406013 are to be replaced free of cost by the Agency.
1. After receipt of the Combustion liners to agency’s work, agency to perform incoming
inspection and carry out the dimensional checks of the combustion liners.
2. Disassemble the combustion liners, caps and perform grit blast cleaning of the liners.
3. Perform NDT on combustion liners.
4. Grind out weld cracks on liner body and subsequently carry out weld repair of cracks
and worn out areas on liner body.
5. Carry out weld repairs of worn portions on liner stoppers.
6. Blend the liner stoppers to meet the required dimensions mentioned in the drawing.

1. After receipt of the Cross fire tubes to agency’s work, agency to perform incoming
inspection.
2. Carry out grit blast cleaning of cross fire tubes.
3. Carry out visual inspection, dimensional inspection and NDT inspection on the cross fire
tubes.
4. Carry out grinding to remove the cracks and subsequently carry out weld repairs of cracks
and wornout areas.
5. Blend weld-ments to meet the drawing specifications & correct contours.
6. Perform Dye penetrant test, carry out final grit blast cleaning.
7. Carryout final thorough cleaning, ensure complete removal grit blast material, Q & A
inspection, dimensional inspection, preserve the cross fire tubes, pack for shipment &
submit the final report in Soft copy form.
1. After receipt of the Cross fire tube retainers to agency’s work, agency to perform
incoming inspection.
2. Carry out grit blast cleaning of retainers.
3. Carry out visual inspection, dimensional inspection and NDT inspection on the retainers.
4. Carry out grinding to remove the cracks and subsequently carry out weld repairs of cracks
and worn-out areas.
5. Blend weld-ments to meet the drawing specifications & correct contours.
6. Straighten the bent retainers.

7. Perform Dye penetrant test, carry out final grit blast cleaning.
8. Carryout final thorough cleaning, ensure complete removal grit blast material, Q & A
inspection, dimensional inspection, preserve the cross fire tubes, pack for shipment &
submit the final report in Soft copy form.
1. After receipt of the Transition pieces to Agency’s work, Agency to perform incoming
inspection and carryout dimensional checks of transition pieces.
2. Remove the old seals from Transition piece body and carry out grit blasting
3. Perform visual inspection, NDT inspection and subsequently carryout necessary weld
repairs of inner, outer and side seal slots.
4. Carry out weld repairs of worn out areas at aft area, weld repairs of cracks on TP body
and weld repairs of forward supports.
5. Blend weld-ments to match the dimensions & contours as mentioned in the drawing
6. Check and correct the creep deflection and perform all other dimensional checks.
7. Carryout Dye penetrant test for Transition pieces and check the dimensions.
8. Carryout thorough cleaning and ensure complete removal aluminum oxide power.
9. Perform weld repair / replace floating seals as required and assemble the Transition pieces
with seals.
10. Carryout final Q & A inspection, preserve the segments, pack for shipment & submit the
final report in Soft copy form.
