Ans: OMR: stands for Optical Marks Recognition. It identifies the pen or pencil marks made. Used in
exam papers or school registers.
MICR: stands for Magnetic Character Recognition. It recognizes the characters written in magnetic ink
and compare with characters stored in computer. It is used to process bank cheques.

14. Discuss the features of a laser printer, an inkjet printer and a dot matrix printer.
Laser printer
 Used for large volume
 To print out invoices/letters etc.
Dot matrix printer
 Can make instantaneous copies
 Can print pay slips

Describe how RFID will be used as he passes through passport control.
Ans: He places his passport against the RFID reader. He stands in front of a scanner. If the fingerprint
scanner is used his fingerprints are compared with those stored on the RFID chip.
