Con estos tiempos y el coste de mano de obra por hora obtenido a través de los
datos del sector, se ha obtenido el coste total de mano de obra por modelo. En la tabla
siguiente se observa el resumen final de estos costes para las enfriadoras.
ABSTRACT
The objective of this project is to design and implement a ATUs factory. For
this, the first step was to detail production processes to obtain a range of standard
manufacturing phases common to all devices. These phases, which may vary in time
depending on size and power of the ATUs are common between all of them and allow
the layout design and the study of manufacturing time to estimate the required resources
for the production.
Tasks standarization clearly shows the possibility of working with parallel jobs.
Therefore the most suitable production process for this type of manufacturing is cells
production. In the design made ther have been designated four different type of cells,
each one responsible for a part of the production process.
Cooling lines cell: it will perform all processes related with cooling
circuits of the ATUs, so they arrive as finished products to the next cell
and are ready to just link them to the heavy components.
Assembling cell: on it are carried out all the assembling phases, with
elements arriving from the other cells. The product exits the cell ready to
use
Test cell: it does all test to ensure a good quality of all the products.
The cell size has been dimensioned according to the size of the products that are
going to be manufactured and so as to allow the necessary movements between each
cell. For the layout are considered material movements from both the warehouse and
between the cells themselves. In the figure we can observe the final, where the
electricity cell does not appear because the company already has a part dedicated to this
type of processes.
There have been specified the materials and tools needed to carry out the
manufacture, both at cell and phases level. For each phase, there have been made
explanatory factsheets to leave them available to workers about the imputs needed and
how to correctly perform these phases.
There has been performed a cost analysis for the acquisition of the necessary
equipment to install the specified layout, to which there has been done a 3-year
amortization due to the high degree of deterioration of these materials.
With these times and the cost of labor per hour obtained through the metal sector
data, it has been obtained the total cost of labor per model. The following table shows
the final summary of these costs for the chillers.

It has also been estimated an annual demand, to obtain the total time required to
manufacture all the components. With this and data on the number of hours worked per
employee are obtained the number of workers needed to meet with the expected
demand. The following table shows the demand and the total time required to
manufacture for the first year.
