Philomena Cueto, LIHM DISCUSSIONS: REVISION: MHCC APOSTOLATE UPDATE LIHM MISSIONARIES SURVEY Sr. Gladys presented the LIHM Missionary Apostolate Survey that was sent this past few weeks open to all missionary LIHM sisters. The presentation showed the various responses of the sisters both locally and internationally. For the questions and responses please refer to the handout given during the meeting. AGENDA PROPER MHCC Handbook and Lessons Sr. Clara presented the Mission and vision statement from the MHCC constitution meeting conducted and facilitated by Br. Pius Ma. OATH. The mothers were asked to define the core values, mission and vision of the MHCC for clarity. Mo. Domenica said that the lessons are currently under review and are still under process. Mo. Philomena declared that after the tirocinium this coming May, definitions for the MHCC Book will be announced. Mo. Domenica and Mo. Philomena will collaborate with concerned institutes and assign persons to work out lessons and handbook etc. It was clarified to all that if a missionary was given ‘classroom setup’ it is up to her own initiative to schedule MHCC Campus Ministry at a suitable time for that school Mo. Domenica said while waiting for the completion of the modules and handbook, the MHCC missionaries must have unified lessons. Mo. Domenica and Mo. Philomena to plot target dates for MHCC book writing and meet for Book writing team. MHCC Secretariat Mo. Philomena suggested that MHCC Secretariat will stay in position for five years so to lessen confusion and conflicts Motion to open MHCC North Luzon secretariat for MHCC apostolate in places such as Pangsinan, Nueva Ecija etc. Mo. Sr. Clara mentioned the secretariat address listed in the FNYO
directory is the mission house of Tandang Sora since the time of Br. Simon, OATH. Since 2017, communications between FNYO and MHCC Secretariat has been through the LIHM sisters. A motion by Sr. Clara was made that all communications between ECY, FNYO and MHCC be through the sisters. And also, for the LIHM to be the official MHCC National Secretariat. A motion was made for NCR Chapter to be national MHCC secretariat Push for unified MHCC documents coming from the main MHCC Secretariat Collaboration with OATH Complaints were made about the OATH priests because the Counterpart inconsistencies of who is in-charge of the different MHCC Chapters. The Spiritual Director is uncertain – Official documents looked unprofessional because change of signatories – need for consistency Mo. Angelica motioned for LIHM and OATH to adjust their calendar of activities around the MHCC Calendar of Activities Missionaries have experienced hardships with the absence of OATH priests, so Mo. Angelica motioned to find a Spiritual Director priest (mabait, matino at religious) for the MHCC by chapters. Do not rely on OATH priests for they are scarce. Only request OATH priests for big activities such as Eucharistic Youth Congress. MHCC Hierarchal Structure Mo. Philomena raised the question of who is the “LIHM National Apostolic Head” – Yet to be confirmed MHCC Hierarchal structure - A motion was made to create database for organization and smooth dissemination of information Mo. Domenica clarified that she was currently in talks with the bishop of Nueva Ecija to open the MHCC Apostolate Those who conduct apostolate in the North Luzon region were encouraged to assign coordinators Mo. Domenica and Mo. Angelica clarified the positions of the MHCC: Junior High School = Auxiliaries | Senior High School = Core | College & Young Professionals = Cooperators Mo. Philomena said that if any former member of the institute offers their help for the apostolate, they are permitted but only after a year of their dispensation. MHCC Finance Procuration – Mo. Angelica motioned to form a procuration team to help finance the apostolate MHCC Budget: Mo. Philomena will meet with Sr. Guadalupe to assign budget per Apostolic Year to the four chapters – the budget will depend on the budget proposals of the activities and then to be divided between the chapters MARY HELP OF CHRISTIANS CRUSADE MARIAN–EUCHARISTIC YOUTH MOVEMENT
Mo. Philomena sought the help of the missionaries with
financing the apostolate by conducting fundraising projects and the like Missionary Formation The missionaries requested there be an on-going monthly formation program. Mo Angel agreed to this saying that it should be conducted by chapter In response to the requested missionary formation, Mo. Domenica said that there was supposed to be formation/recollection every 3rd Sunday of the month but it was difficult to gather because conflict of schedules. Sr. Osana made it clear that teach-in lessons were supposed to be conducted by community and in care of the Apostolic Head. The Apostolic Head has the responsibility of evaluating the lessons the missionaries are teaching. Sr. Gladys and Sr. Clara pushed for quarterly meetings of apostolic heads for progress reports and evaluation of activities. This was supported by the rest of the missionaries present. It was suggested to be held on the first Sunday after vigil. Use of Social Media for the It was pointed out that the LIHM’s notion of social media Apostolate focused more on the “evil”. Sr. Hyacinth and others spoke of how social media could be used to our advantage because as the research presented, showed the youth today were spending most of their time on social media. The issue was raised of the use of social media in the apostolate. A conclusion was made that Mo. Domenica would soon be releasing detailed guidelines for use of social media. Other Concerns All MHCC Chapters must submit their Calendar of Activities by April 06, 2019 to the LIHM Secretariat for approval Template will be emailed Any apostolic activity conducted must be reported to Mo.
