New Delhi, the 7th November, 2012
G S.R.857(E).—-In exercise of the powers conferred
by Section 156 of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force
Act, 1992 (35 of 1992), the Central Government hereby
makes the following rules furtherto amend the Indo-Tibetan
Border Police Force Rules, 1994, namely :—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Indo-Tibetan
Border Police Force (Amendment) Rules, 2012.
(2) They shall come intoforce on the date of their
publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Rules,
1994 for sub-rule (6) in rule 40, the following sub-rule shall
be substituted, namely :—

"(6)(i) The order of suspension made or deemed to
have been made u nder sub-rule (1) or sub-rule
(2) shall be reviewed by the authority
competent to modify or revoke the suspension,
before expiry of ninety days from trje date of
OTder of suspension, on the recommendation
of the Review Committee constituted for the
purpose and pass orders either extending or
revoking the suspension,
(S) The second or subsequent reviews shall be
made before expiry of the extended period of
suspension which shall not exceed one
hundred and eighty days at a time.
(iii)The review committee shall consist of such
officers and shall be constituted in such
manner as may, from time to time, be laid down
by the Director General."
