international law, in preparation for the bar exam. The
focus is on the 1987 Philippine Constitution and the legal
philosophy that underpins its provisions. The case method
will be used extensively. The students will be asked to read
Philippine Supreme Court cases and other materials.
Graded recitation will follow. Other class activities will be
held to provide opportunities for critical reflection.
II. Aims
At the end of the course, it is hoped that:
1. Students will be able to answer the questions in
the political and international law bar exam;
2. Students will be able to explain key provisions
and jurisprudence in this area of law, and apply
them to specific cases;
3. Students will be able to formulate arguments
based on constitutional law;
4. Students will be able to demonstrate critical
thinking by making commentary on
developments in political and international law.
