2. Prize presentation will be conducted after the last match on 23 Dec 2017
3. Schedule is subjected to change at the discretion of the Organizing
Committee (based on the number of entries received).
4. Start of play will be based on the number of entries and will be published on
the tournament website.
5. Tournament schedules will not be emailed to participants; participants will
have to check the tournament website for update of schedules.

ELIGIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS
1. This tournament is opened to ALL nationalities.

2. Age qualification shall be based on the following:
AGE GROUP BIRTH YEAR AGE IN 2017
8 AND UNDER BORN IN OR AFTER 2010 8 YEARS AND UNDER
OPEN - ANY
3. A player can participate in his/her age group category or a higher age group
category but NOT in a lower age group category.
4. Players need to submit their photo ID/passport for evidence of eligibility during
registration on ALL DAYS of tournament. Anyone found ineligible will NOT be
allowed to play and the player will have to concede walkover for that match
when the ineligibility is discovered. There will NOT be any refund of entry fees.
5. Open categories are NOT opened to current National Team Squad Members
of any country.
ENTRY AND REGISTRATION
1. Each player is allowed to enter both Singles and Doubles events

2. Each player is allowed to enter a maximum of 3 events
3. The registration fee for each event are as follows:

4. The registration form is available via

5. The closing date for registration is 04 JUN 2018. Registration without payment is
deemed as incomplete. Late and incomplete entries will NOT be entertained.
6. The registration fee is non-refundable
7. A minimum of 16 entries and maximum of 64 entries per event will be
accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. The Organizing Committee
reserves the right to conduct qualifying round if it decides to accept more
than 64 entries.
8. A list of participants will be released on 11 JUN 2018, along with the seedings
and draws. Seedings will be based on the following sequence:
- BWF Ranking as at 04 JUN 2018
- Alpha Age Group Badminton Championships (DEC) 2017 | SF & Above
- Other tournament results will be based on organizer’s discretion | SF &
Above
9. In the event that there are not enough players who satisfy the above, the
seeding for the event will be reduced accordingly.
10. In order for the result of the above-mentioned tournaments to be taken into
consideration, it has to be achieved in the same age group or higher.
11. When there is more than one seed with similar achievement, the organizing
committee will draw lots to see who will be seeded higher.
12. A random draw will be conducted for all the remaining unseeded players.
13. In the event that there are insufficient entries for any event, that event(s) may
be merged with the same event of another age category. The Organizing
Committee may also decide to cancel the event.
14. If there are less than 16 entries in any of the events, the prize for that event
WILL BE reduced. This is up to the Organizing Committee’s discretion.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The tournament will be a single knock out format for all categories and events.
TOURNAMENT RULES
1. The tournament shall be run in accordance with the prevailing Badminton

World Federation (BWF) rules.
2. All players are requested to bring along their identification documents for
verification on days of their matches.
3. Once entries have been accepted, no replacement / substitution of players
will be entertained. However, the Organizing Committee, at its discretion,
reserves the right to accept such changes if necessary and with valid reasons,
so long as no match has been played by the player(s).
4. All players must report to the Official Registration Table at least 30 minutes
before the scheduled time of their matches.
5. All matches will be played in accordance with the schedule of play.
Postponement of any matches will be at the Organizing Committee’s
discretion.
6. The competition format will be based on the best of 3 games of 21 points
(Rally Points System) for all categories.
7. Deuce format will only be introduced from quarterfinals onwards. Sudden
death format will be used otherwise.
8. Players will be given a grace period of a maximum 5 minutes for all matches,
failing which the player will concede a walkover for that particular match.
9. In the event both players fail to turn up, the match will be scratched.
10. Players shall wear non-marking shoes during the competition.
11. The decision of the umpires and officials shall be deemed as final.
12. All players are required to stay back as lines judges for the following match.
Failure to do so will lead to a disqualification and/or ban from future
tournaments.
13. There shall be line judges provided by the Organizing Committee from semi-
finals onwards.

2. Prize winners are required to attend the prize presentation ceremony in given
tournament t-shirt(s). No singlet or slippers are allowed.
3. Prize winners are to proceed to the tournament table after the prize
presentation ceremony with their photo IDs to collect their prize(s).
4. Substitute/Replacement can only collect the medal(s) on the prize winner's
behalf. Otherwise, prize money/medal(s)/equipments will be forfeited after 23
JUN 2018.
REFUND POLICY
Unless the Organizing Committee cancels any event, there will be no refund of the
entry fees.
ADDITIONAL RULES
1. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to interpret or amend the rules
and regulations of the tournament at any time. Notification of such changes
will be posted on Alpha Academy Facebook Page and Alpha Academy
website. All participants are advised to visit the site(s) frequently for any
announcements or changes to draws / schedules.
2. While reasonable precautions will be taken, GRAP VENTURE PTE LTD, its
servants and agents, will not be responsible or in any way liable for any death,
disability, personal injury, loss of property or any other loss howsoever arising
from any cause whatsoever at any time during the course of this tournament.
3. The Organizing Committee endeavors to provide the most updated
information in this prospectus and we reserve the right to alter some of the
information in the prospectus if necessary.
4. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to evaluate and accept late
entries on a case-by-case basis.
INDEMNITY
1. While reasonable precautions will be taken, the Organizing Committee will not
be responsible or in any way liable for any death, disability, personal injury, loss
of property or any other loss howsoever arising from any cause whatsoever at
any time during the course of this tournament.
2. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the Terms & Conditions
set out in this prospectus at its sole discretion without prior notice. For key
updates to the tournament, reasonable notice will be provided on the
tournament website and disseminated through the Organizing Committee’s
