9:00 Beginning class organisation:
- Bring the class together at a stationary meeting point
- Ask students to sit with a partner
- Give a lesson objective for today’s lesson

9:02 Warm Up  Shrink and Grow All students are playing correctly
(8mins) and following the rules
1. Students stand next to their
marker facing their partner Students are not interfering with the

4. If they drop the ball they must
go from standing up, to
kneeling on their knees. If the
ball is dropped again they
must sit down with their legs
crossed. If the ball is dropped
again they must lay on their
backs. They then start again.
The aim of the warm up is to practice
catching the ball in a static
environment with a small amount of
pressure to not drop the ball.

The teacher is supporting

students, encouraging them to try
and mark the ball as many times
as possible. Evaluating the skill
level of each student.

9:10 Bridging organisation

To smoothly move onto the next activity, bring the class in close keeping pairs together. No need to bring in any
balls or cones as they will be used for the next drill. Give a brief run-down of how to mark a ball – chest-height hand
mark. Discuss the key teaching points.

The teacher will blow the whistle, signaling to students to put the football on the ground. The teacher will create
groups of 5 or 6 according to marking abilities and knowledge. Ask students to collect their cones and balls from the
last drill and keep 2 cones and 1 ball per group, get 1 student from each group to put the other equipment to the
side out of the way. Students set up the area with 2 cones 10 metres apart. Give a brief run-down of how to mark a
ball – overhead mark. Discuss the key teaching points.

9:30 Bridging organisation:

The teacher will blow the whistle and ask students to stop moving and to place the footballs on the ground. The
teacher will create groups of 4 so that students are with other students who have similar abilities and
understanding. Get 1 member from each group to get 4 cones and 1 ball between the group. Groups will set up the
cones in a square grid that is 5 steps by 8 steps by 8 steps.

9:40 Bridging organisation:

The teacher will blow the whistle and ask students to stop moving and to place the footballs on the ground. The
teacher will split the class into 4 groups with 7 or 8 students. 1 student from every group will collect the cones from
the previous drill and put them away while getting 3 cones (2 must be the same colour), 1 football and 7 or 8 bibs.
Students then set up the playing area so that 2 of the same coloured cones are 15 steps apart, with the other

teacher.
9:58 Closure:
