1. OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this method statement is to define the general
guideline for the application of termite control for all underneath
structure in the project.
2. SCOPE:
The Termite application procedures encompass all work activities
associated with manufacturer's recommendations performed by
AUVA in coordination with the QC Department/Safety Department
interfaces. To ensure that termite control application Work is
conducted in accordance with good working practice, work is
been inspected and verified by the Saudi Aramco Representative
to satisfy and attain the Client requirement in conjunction with the
Project Quality Plan.
This method statement enumerates the procedure for
pre-construction soil Treatment within the sub structure of any
building structures for termite control.

4. RESPONSIBILITES:
Site engineer:
Site engineer is responsible to take all preventive and
precautionary measures during preparation and execution of
work. And only competent persons are allowed to perform the job
with complete personal protective tools and equipment’s.
QA/QC Inspector:
QA/QC Inspector shall make sure the following items and all field
inspections will be carried out according to Saudi Aramco
standards
He will ensure the material shall conform to approved project
specification.
Work should be carried out as per latest revision of drawings for
attachment as a key plan identifying the location.
He will provide the Inspection Checklists.
He will check and monitor site preparation until completion of
soil treatment.
He will monitor the quantity proportion of chemical and
application as per manufacturer’s recommendation.
He shall coordinate with client representative for required
Inspection as per approved ITP.

Environmental Limitations:
To ensure penetration, do not treat the soil which is water saturated
or frozen. Do not treat the soil while precipitation is occurring and
comply with requirements of local jurisdiction.

Related Work:
Coordinate soil treatment application with excavation, filling,
grading, and concreting operations. Termite solution should be
applied under the foundations, around plumbing pipes and
electric conduit penetrating the foundation and along the entire
outside perimeter.
6. PROCEDURES:
6.1 Preparations:
General: Prepare work areas according to the requirements of
authorities having jurisdiction and according to manufacturer's
written instructions before beginning application and installation of
termite control treatment. Remove extraneous sources of wood
cellulose and other edible materials, such as wood debris, tree
stumps and roots, stakes, formwork, and construction waste, wood
from soil within and around foundations.

7 QUALITY INSPECTION:
QA/QC Inspector and site engineer shall coordinate and verify site
condition, remove foreign matter that could decrease treatment
effectiveness on areas to be treated. Loosen rake and level soil to be
treated, except previously compacted areas under slabs and
foundation.
Verify the soil surface is unfrozen, sufficiently dry to absorb termiticide,
and ready to receive treatment.
Verify final grading and final compaction test is complete prior to soil
treatment.
The Inspector should have the material approval, ITP, Inspection
Checklist and key drawing plan.
Termite Control shall be from Saudi Aramco approved supplier and
applicator

Power Sprayer (diesel - driven) fixed at the carriage of the service car
Spray nozzle - use to facilitate the formation of spray in the target area
Personal Protective Equipment - safety helmet, safety gloves, safety
shoes, eye protection or goggles, approved respiratory and safety
jacket.
