Article 1#
Yesterday, on the afternoon of July, 17th, the real murderer in the drugstore owned by
Mr. Nesbitt. The culprit was James King, he was the one who shot Mr. Nesbitt and was
responsible for his death. Around the beginning of July, the two suspect, Steve Harmon and
James King were caught and was sent to the detention center waiting for their case to start. At
first, Steve Harmon was determined to be the murderer in the look of many jury’s eyes. Steve’s
lawyer, O’ Brien, use her knowledge about laws to help Steve by making the jury feel that Steve
had nothing to do with the cause of Mr. Nesbitt death. Even though the jury seems to believe that
Steve Harmon was innocent, there was evidence of Steve Harmon going in the drugstore a
couple of minutes before the stickup on July, 13th, during a period of time when Bobo was on
the witness stand. During that period of time, Steve was believed to be the lookout for the team.
O’ Brien knows that she must do something before the judge thinks that Steve was guilty so, she
tries her best to defend Steve but Petrocelli, the prosecutor of Steve Harmon and James King,
have enough evidence to fight back and she also gives the jury the picture of Mr. Nesbitt’s body
in a grotesque shape. From that day, Steve was almost found guilty but he was proven innocent
at last because of all the witnesses in the drug store didn’t see Steve but they sure spotted James
King shot Mr. Nesbitt. Also, there’s not enough evidence for the jury to prove that Steve was
guilty. This is what Henry, the witness said: “James King was the killer, I swear I saw him shot
Mr. Nesbitt.”
Article 2#
On July, 17th, the murderers who killed Mr. Nesbitt was put behind bars for a long time.
James King was sentenced to life due to his crime, homicide, participating in a robbery and much
more. Even though the murderer was caught, the lookout of the team hadn’t caught yet. Instead,
this young, black teenage boy whose learning in a famous university was proven innocent and it
seems that he knew the truth of what happened. At first, Steve Harmon was caught by the
detective and was put in the detention center where many bad criminals that haven’t finish their
case ends up. As for Steve, he was really scared when the case starts because of the jury think
that Steve was the one who killed or helped the killer killed Mr. Nesbitt and that might be the
truth. O’ Brien also think that Steve might be the killer but the thing is that Steve is her client.
She fought the case really hard for Steve to make the jury saw Steve as an innocent person and it
did work. Steve was about to win the case when the part of his truth was spoiled inside the court.
Richard Evan, also known as “Bobo” said that “Steve was supposed to give the signal to us if
there’s a cop in the store or not.” What Bobo said to make the jury felt suspicious about Steve
and was going to give a verdict of guilty when the real killer was proven. The killer was proven
to be James King, he snatches the gun from Mr. Nesbitt and decided to shoot him in the drug
store. When the last day of the case came, James King earned a verdict of guilty and Steve
Harmon was proven to be innocent. Still, if Steve had to stop the robbery, Mr. Nesbitt wouldn't
have died.
TEPAC
Article 1# was the “Neutral” perspective of the news and the second article was the one
with bias, the bias article is showing that Steve might be guilty of his crime. These are a couple
of writing I choose to put in the Article 2# to make it more bias. The first bias was when the
author writes “Instead, this young, black teenage boy whose learning in a famous university was
proven innocent and it seems that he knew the truth of what happened.” Another example weres
when Steve got a verdict of innocent and this is what the author writes, “Still if Steve had to stop
the robbery, Mr. Nesbitt wouldn't have died.” The first examples are showing the perspective of
the author that Steve might be the killer and instead of telling the truth to the police, he decided
to keep it to himself and that causes a lot of problems. The second example shows that the author
thinks Steve should at least try to stop the robbery before it happens because if Steve had decided
to stop the robbery, nobody would’ve gone in jail. These examples are showing that the author is
revealing a lot of bias inside the Article 2# and his bias towards Steve was also in a negative way
by showing the evidence that might leads the reader to believe that Steve was guilty. Overall, I
think thhat I’ve put a lot of bias and most of them are really easy to spot and all the bias are
