CROSS-BLEED VALVE - INSPECTION/CHECK

EFFECTIVITY: ALL

1. General
A. This task gives the procedure to do the visual inspection of the cross-bleed valve filter.

B. There is one cross-bleed valve filter in the cross-bleed valve.

C. The cross-bleed valve is installed in the lower fairing area between the LH and RH air conditioning
packs.

D. The procedures in this section are given in the sequence below.

2. Cross-Bleed Valve Filter - General Visual Inspection

A. General

(1) This task gives the procedure to do the visual inspection of the cross-bleed valve filter.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE LANDING GEAR SAFETY PINS ARE INSTALLED. THIS IS TO
PREVENT INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO MATERIAL.

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE DUCTS OR COMPONENTS OF THE AIR BLEED SYSTEM
IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SYSTEM STOPS ITS OPERATION. THE HIGH AIR
TEMPERATURE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

(1) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (AMM TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A/200 ).
SUBTASK 020-001-A
(2) Remove the cross-bleed valve filter (AMM TASK 36-10-01-000-802-A/400 ).

NOTE: Use a 10X magnifying lens as a help to do the visual inspection.

(1) Do a visual inspection of the cross-bleed valve filter for signs of wear, cracks, nicks,
dents and other damage.

(2) Do a check of the internal passages to make sure they are clean and are not blocked.
NOTE: Do the cleaning procedure of the cross-bleed valve filter (AMM TASK
36-10-01-130-801-A/700 ) if the filter is dirty and/or blocked.

(3) Do a check of the threads for rough edges and defects. Make sure that the threads fit
satisfactorily.

(4) If the filter is not in good conditions, you must replace it (AMM TASK
36-10-01-000-802-A/400 /AMM TASK 36-10-01-400-802-A/400 )

(1) Install the cross-bleed valve filter (AMM TASK 36-10-01-400-802-A/400 ).
