IV. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities

(Teacher’s Activity) (Student’s Activity)

Kindly pick up the pieces of paper under your table

and arrange your chair properly.

Let us all stand and pray… In the name of the Father…

Good afternoon class Good afternoon Ms. Sistona. We are

Glad to see you. Mabuhay!

Please remain standing

We will have a stretching activity…

You may take your seats now…

Checking of attendance…

B. Reviewing Previous Lesson or Presenting New Lesson

Class how do you read time?

By simply looking at a clock, right?

(The teacher will show a picture of a clock)

We read time by simply looking where the hands of

the clock point out.

Do you agree? -Yes teacher

Kindly go to your assigned group and I will give

an activity that is almost the same in reading time.

Read and write your answer in the space provided.

1. Write your reading in each meter.

_________ ______ _______ _______ _______ kWh

2. Write your reading in each meter.

____ _____ _______ ______ m3

Time is up. Lets start with group 1, then group 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Answer:1. 64720 kHh. 2. 6254 m3

Very good

C. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

Do you have any idea what was our activity about? -Yes ma’am, about meter reading

Very good. It is meter reading.

In nos. 1, there are five look a like clocks, which called the dials.

Each dial has a pointer which indicate sthe number to be read .

The pointers will alternately turn clockwise and counterclockwise.

These dials measure the number of kWh (kilowatt- hour). This meter

With five dials used for electric reading.

In nos. 2, there are four dials only used in water meter reading.

Any other quesation? - none so far

(The teacher will show a picture of electric and water meter)

Electric meter in the Philippines

easy steps to read your meter

1 Always read the dials from the right to the left,

starting from Dial A to Dial E.

2 Read the number by the pointer of the dial. When

the pointer is between two (2) numbers, the lower
number is recorded.
Water Meter in the Philippines

Just like the electric meter, it ia almost the same.

However, only 4 dials with clockwise arrangement of numbers.

D. Presenting Examples/ instances of the new lesson

We already know how to read electric and water meter. So. Now we

are going to compute for our monthly electric and water consumption.

Group activity, you will choose your representative to present it before

Your classmates.

1. COMPUTE FOR YOUR MONTHLY ELECTRIC AND WATER CONSUMPTION.

A. ELECTRIC CONSUMPTION – FEBRUARY 2018

PRESENT ENERGY: 28789.7

PREVIOUS ENERGY: 28671.7

B. WATER CONSUMPTION

FEBRUARY 2018

PRESENT READING: 372

PREVIOUS READING: 357

Are you done?

Lets start with group 1, then 2, 3, 4, and 5. Simply subtract the previous reading from the

current reading and you will get your monthly

Electric and water consumption. 1. 118 kWh.

2. 15 cubic meters.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills

After learning how to read and compute for your

Monthly electric and water consumption, and as a

Grade VI Fl student, how can you help to your family and

Community, to lessen and save your electric and water

Consumption.

In your group, you are going to express it artistically.

GROUP 1 – COMPOSE A JINGLE

GROUP 2- MAKE A POEM

GROUP 3 - WRITE A SLOGAN

GROUP 4 – ROLE PLAY, and

GROUP 5 – COMPOSE A SONG

Upon presentation, must present it with your group.

Additional points will be given to the first group who

will finish before the given time. You have 15 minutes.

And time starts now.

Are you done?

(Group Presentation)

E. Developing Mastery

We already learn a lot for todays lesson. Right?

It is not yet done, did you ever wonder how it is being

compute? Or lets say, how much do you pay for your

electric and water consumption?

We will have another activity that we are going to compute

For your electric bill.

PROBLEM 1: Ramona made a record og their 3 –month electric consumption. The initial reading
is 1084 kWh.

JANUARY: 1231 FEBRUARY: 1464 MARCH: 1623

Assume that the basic charge for the first 30 kWh is P120.oo and the succeding kilowatt-hour is
charged P6.00.

a. How much Ramona pay for each month?

b. What is the average monthly consumption?

For your computations, you can refer to your

Mathematics book on pages 306 to 308. So you will be

Guided also.

You have 15 minutes and your time starts now.

Are you done?

You may start group 1…

h. Finding practical applications and skills in daily living

With your group, you are going to think of a story

Related to the use of electeric or water consumption

That create problems involving electeric and water consumption.

Then, think of a reasonable solutions.

Make it a short story with a solution.

The group who will volunter to present first will be given

additional points.

Your time starts now. 10 minutes.

Are you done?

(group presentation)
