INTRODUCTION

In Philippines, one of the problems of people is the security of their children.

Keeping the child secured from dangerous surroundings is a top priority. Nowadays

there are so many emergencies. So, researchers came up with the idea of making a

smart watch that will keep the parents/guardians away from worrying when their

children are away. Like on kids, parents come with a wide range of challenges, but

kids are safe even when they’re out of sight. Fortunately, with wearable GPS trackers

for kids, the challenge of parenthood just got a little easier. As kids grow, they’ll want

to explore, push boundaries, and make their own rules. Whether children is on a

family outing, at an amusement park, or on a school trip, tracking devices for kids

give you one less thing to worry about. And whether children is starting kindergarten

or is in middle school, kids GPS smart watch and other wearable GPS technology

help you to keep tracking of children.

Whenever children come home late at night, you cannot help but worry. But

with this smart watch with GPS Tracker you can track children whenever they go.

The GPS Tracker is inserted inside the smart watch and will be connected into a

mobile device who acts as the GPS receiver.

GPS Tracker is a device with integrated GPS receiver that is worn as a single

unit strapped onto a wrist, in the manner of a bracelet. The watch can have other

features and capabilities depending on its intended purpose and be a smart watch.

According to Wu, et. al., ( 2009), the prevailing invention relates a GPS tracking

system, comprising a monitoring and positioning device, a server, a positioning

display unit, and a database. For the reason that tracking and positioning tool only

sends an internet protocol (IP) data and a verification records once when its miles

related to the internet, and sends a positioning data only when a position of the

monitoring and positioning device is to be shown on the positioning display unit, the

bandwidth can be saved.

Objective of the Study

Generally, the main objective of the study is to develop a smart watch GPS

tracker application.

Specifically, it aims to:

1. Design and develop a smart watch GPS locator tracker.

2. Determine the response time of the GPS in giving location especially in poor

signal environment.

3. Implement and the prototype.

Significance of the Study

This study will help parents, teachers and school administrators to track the

students during school hours. Accidents due to student’s ditching class will be

avoided because they will be informed when the student recedes in the school

premises. In this way, they can avoid having conflict with the school security. It is

important because having this device the people will easily locate or tracked the

missing person who is wearing this smart watch with GPS Tracker.

Scope and Limitations

The researchers will focus on developing and design of a smart watch GPS

tracker. The study will include the data analysis of prototype when it comes to

implementation of this prototype and test to assure the accuracy of the device in

giving the location considering the places that are poor in signal.

Time and Place of the Study

This research study will be conducted in the Samuel Christian College on

October 2018 until March 2019. Testing and evaluation will be conducted to gather

data need in the development of the prototype.

Conceptual Framework

The researcher will use smart watch. The process including design, construct

test and evaluate are discussed in the methodology. After doing all the process, the

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

GPS. According to Christensson, (2006).Global Positioning System is a

satellite navigation system used to determine the ground position of an object.

GPS Tracking system

GPS tracking software is designed to collect location data and visualize it on

map. Tracking device usage is very simple and convenient, all records are available in

real time, data is saved to database and can be accessed any time in the future.

Trackers send various information, such as coordinates, speed, altitude and other.

GPS Receivers Work. According to Brain and Harris, (2006). A GPS usually

mean a GPS receiver. The Global Positioning System(GPS) is actually

a constellation of 27 Earth-orbiting satellites (24 in operation and three extras in case

one fails). The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a

military navigation system, but soon opened it up to everybody else. A GPS receiver's

job is to locate four or more of these satellites, figure out the distance to each, and use

this information to deduce its own location. This operation is based on a simple

mathematical principle called trilateration

Trilateration. According to zahradnik, F. (2018) technique used by GPS

Device to determine user position. By constantly receiving and analyzing radio

signals from multiple GPS satellites.

According to Panchai, N. (2016). GPS Based Off-line Tracking System There

is tremendous demand for object tracking application for the business process. The

real-time tracking information on valuable things and assets could solve many
problems in the world. GPS is the Global Positioning System which provides the

location, using offline and on-line both in any atmospheric conditions. There are

several types of GPS tracking system available in the market. Offline GPS tracking

system, GPRS based tracking, SMS-based tracking, Android phone based GPS

tracking applications etc. The GPS-based off-line tracking and alert system works off-

line without using the Internet. When the GPS in a device is on the GPS satellites

broadcast the signals and GPS receivers uses the signals and provides the latitude,

longitude, and altitude information along with the time. A Variety of location tracking

devices can be used e.g. Mobile phones, GPS devices, GPS watches etc. With the help

of middle-ware services, it retrieves the location data of the device and upload it to the

cloud database and keeps on updating the location automatically within defined

interval of time.

Advantages of Smart Watch

According to Pascoe, J., & Thomson, K. (2007). Smart watches have the

advantage of always being with the user due to their wrist-watch form factor, which

allows for information access at the flick of the wrist, and also makes it. Unlike the

smart phone interface, smart watches allow a user to have both hands free thus

enabling the user to be unhindered while accessing information. Found that it aided

users in tracking physical movements through the use of the watch’s accelerometer,

where the force exerted on the watch could be used in gesture controlled applications.

The wristwatch form factor is already socially accepted, where users are familiar with

the commonly available wristwatch and feel comfortable wearing them.

GPS tracking watches

According to Madarana, (2017). GPS tracking some other position using a

watch. Tracker first gets positions and sends data using GPRS network to the tracking

Graphical Interface which may be a watch or something and then watch gets data

from the other device and then it will connect to Google Maps or some service like

that and requests location sent then it plots the point where the other device is kept. If

it is moving also using a real-time loop you can track the device.

accuracy, the researchers made three trials in data gathering. In the first trial,

Camachile Subdivision to Barangay pascam has a delayed signal. The second trial is

Camachile Subdivision to Navarro has a poor signal, and the third and last trial starts

in Malabon to Tapia has a good signal.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary

This study aims to develop a Smart Watch GPS Tracker Application that can

track who wear this smart watch and helps to monitor their exact location. A GPS

Tracker system is a mobile application which tracks the location of the

Devices containing GPS service and shows the updated location on Google map, and

applying analytics on tracking-based data probably increases the profitability of fleet

control system

This prototype uses android studio that is programmed to smart watch and

mobile phone which is set on 10secs that can send data to cloud server and to track

the latest location.

Conclusion

After testing and evaluation of the prototype the researchers conclude that this

prototype is accurate in sending data to cloud server. Also this GPS tracker

Application used a mobile data or WIFI to work this prototype.

Recommendation

Based on the results gathered, the researchers suggested:

1. To the future researchers besides Bluetooth tech, there are also alternative

types of technology in the market such as RFID and NFC. This variety

largely creates an opportunity to explore different solutions for the local

market that involve low power consumptions, easy programmability and

maintenance as well as high reliability.

2. Improvements on the device such as SMS send/receive capability is highly

recommended to increase its feature and reliability.
