SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE
“Spiritual intelligence is like a vaccination against greed, arrogance and
tyranny.” ― Saidi Mdala

Intelligence has been defined in many ways, including: the capacity for logic,
understanding, self-awareness, learning, emotional knowledge, reasoning, planning,
creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving. It has many types – mental , social ,
spiritual intelligence . But above all , spiritual intelligence is most important because it has
direct impact on our physical , mental , social , emotional dimensions of health .

Spiritual intelligence (SQ) is our capacity for developing meaning, vision and value. It
allows us to dream and to strive. It underlies the things we believe in and the role our
beliefs and values play in the actions that we take. It is away of finding “ What I am”. It
helps us to control our five vikars – known as – kamm(lust), lobh(greed) , moh
(fascination), hankar (grandiosity) , krodh (anger) . This is how we understand our truly
self who is linked with one supreme soul. It also helps to control our reactivity of our
emotions and bring us peace and contentment .

The process of spiritual intelligence started by these two ways - separating our heart
(loving essential nature connected to higher self or soul) from mind (false based on
animal body fears) and cultural conditioning (imprinted from other people's views
imposed). Spiritual intelligence can be developed through the spirituality which is
known as deep connection with the god and process of emerging in one soul

When someone say something say against our views we react instead of respond . this
reaction causes conflicts in our relationships . The spiritual intelligence helps to develop our
mindful insight which understands difference between all individuals and helps us to
respond instead of react.

The five components of spiritual intelligence are :

a) ability to utilize spiritual resources to solve problems;
b) ability to enter heightened states of consciousness;
c) Ability to invest everyday experiences;
d) capacity for transcendence of physical and material;
e) Capacity to be virtuous
Spiritual intelligence is very necessary in toady’s world to decrease greed , hatred and build
love , affection among individuals . This is the only way of bring peace and harmony in the
world because it helps us to adapt as the will of god through the feeling of connectivity with
god and other souls .
