MICROBES Eeew !!??

The not- So- often-told story of Microbes

What is microbes? First we think about microbes they are carrier of different kind of
diseases and they are not good in our body. But all of this things change when I watch the talk
of Mrs. Cabrera about the microbes the things that we didn’t know because we are lack of
knowledge about this.
After watching the video of Mrs. Cabrera I learned that microbes can be beneficial to our
body and at the same time can be dangerous to us. In Mrs. Cabrera talk she introduce the
famous diseases or infection that we have here in Philippines or most recent. For example
carbuncle or what we called in Tagalog “Pigsa”, HIV and Rabies. I learn that they came from
microbes that entering to our body and also the infection diseases like leprosy and tuberculosis.
In recent study that I can’t believe that it’s really true. She said that the obesity composition of
microbial flora that dictated by the food that we eat is associated by obesity. So being obese is
cause also by the microbes!!??
One of interesting that Mrs. Cabrera said that when we are inside the womb of our mother
we are safe because there’s no microbes inside in the womb of our mother but when we
exposed in the environment there’s many microbes can inflicted to our body. She also said that
when a pregnant mother delivered her baby the good example or more recommend is normal
delivery because there’s a microbial flora from the mother’s vaginal canal, and it have a good
bacteria called Lactobacillus. In caesarian delivery where in the skin of mothers/handlers can
cause the baby to expose to the microbes. She said that our skin is composed of large numbers
of microbes existing. Interesting info that she said that inside in our body 10,000 different
microbe that residing compare to our cell that is only one.
She introduce also the example of a good bacteria and these are Lactobacillus spp. It produce
H2O2 and lactic acid that prevents bacterial vaginitis. Second one is Bifid bacterium spp. Is
dominant species in microbiome, it produces antibacterial compound acetate, coat intestine
prevent pathogens from attaching.
The misuse of taking antibiotics is also one of the topic that Mrs. Cabrera presented. Taking
antibiotics correctly and when necessary you should take antibiotics completely if you don’t
microorganisms still existing, and too much intake of antibiotic it cause to over growth
undesirable microorganism because of misuse of these antibiotic it may cause disease in our
body , and also in the talk of Mrs. Cabrera were in she discuss about fecal transplant were in
the patient have clostridium difficile they will get stool from the family members and
introducing to the patient body and its 90% effective.
Overall we should take care the microbe that is good to our body. Enrich daily diet with
probiotics food that rich in fiber, fruits and vegetable. The best products that have beneficial
microbes are cerelac, yakult, Nido and Bearbrand this products are really effective. “Drink
yakult every day. Help our good microbe to grow better and have a healthier diet.
