I SPEAK FOR DEMOCRACY

Do we recognize ourselves a free human being? Are we truly sovereign

country?

Nowadays, the only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely

free that your very existence is an act of rebellion. Unfortunately, we can say today

that rebellion is the key, which is probably the right thing to do in our country. Let’s all

way back to the times that Philippines colonized by the colonizers. The colonizers

irreverent carnage Filipinos, who are innocent and not guilty. Furthermore, the

Philippines on that time is like a bird in a jail intention to be slip away in a prudent

colonizers. Unfortunately, our country before has the incapable to resist to the powerful

governance of the colonizers. We don’t have powers but the unity we have that time

leads to temporary freedom.

Freedom and democracy are fundamental aspirations of human beings. Every

human and nation on this earth is heading towards democracy, equality and freedom,

learning behind oppressions and exploitations of dictatorship as well as the federalism

and slavery. For the values of democracy and equality many great man and women

gave up their lives, our national hero Jose Rizal in one of the best example of this. On

this earth beneath the vast sky, although freedom and democracy belong to entire

humanity, but they will never belong to those who oppress by practicing federalism

and dictatorship. But do we think that democracy ensure freedom? I believe

democracy can ensure freedom but not always. Democracy relies on the system

where we elect officials who will act our voice of our concern.
 Freedom is the concept that talks about the condition in which the individual

live their life according to their free will. We make our choices without facing disabling

condition or the pressure of simply fulfilling the basic needs or necessities of life. In

this we choose how present ourselves to the world and how we can communicate our

ideas and thoughts. We choose how to we set plan, and achieve our goals. We decide

what our future will be, will be, and that is freedom.

The freedom must be considered as one of the most important natural rights of

a person is absolutely doing what is wished and wanted. This is the widest meaning

of freedom. We are a Filipino who live and breathe in this country of paradise

Philippines. We are the successor of the past of our mighty heroes who sacrifice their

life for freedom. We carry the torch of hope, justice and love. The honor and dignity

flow in our blood and the heart beats for freedom. We need to fight the right and

oppose the wrong government. The agony lasted a number of years from the Spanish

colonizers, the seed of democracy began to take root and sprouted to grow .However,

I can see a picture of the Philippines in reality at present. Poverty reigns now in the

society. Women and children sell their flesh just to earn money. Human rights are

violations are committed frequently. Inequality governs by the government and

betrayal forms undeniably in the government.

My dear friends look at our land! Let us all wake up! As a Filipinos, is this what

we really want to see? The twilight we shed was already over. We must witness

another sun risen, in every ending there was a beginning. Yes! I truly speak for

democracy. I am what I say, what I think and what I do. Let’s stand as a nation, and

together we can make democracy a living legacy, not to be subverted but to be

protected and preserved.
