have not paid your dues for 2019 please take the time to write a check. Annual dues

plication and submit it with your check. You can find it on-line at Southern British
Car Club of Greater Chattanooga .

Every first Monday of the month SBCC has a British invasion of the local every Monday
evening car cruise in at Cambridge Square in Ooltewah Tn.
March 4 was the first Monday of March.
The weather wasn't particularly good kind of cool but two hardy souls brought their
Britsh cars to Cambridge Square. They were Scott McAllister with his MGTF and David
Terhune in his MGBGT. I showed up later in the Toyota.

That was a beautiful March day for driving through the country side. Thirteen British cars and a Chevy made the trip to
Blue Springs Marina on the Tennessee River to enjoy food and fellowship with friends while making new ones. When
Teresa and I drove up we were greatly surprise to see so many cars. She stated there must be another club with
us. There was not another club, just members of SBCC.

Five MGs, 2 Triumphs, a Marcos, 2 Minis, a Lotus, a Jaguar, and a Alfa Romeo provided transportation for 22 members
and guest. There were several new members with us, I always like seeing new faces. Hope they come back. The Brit-
ish car hobby is about making new friends and getting out and enjoying life.

Guest were:, Alex (Doug's grandson), Ted and Nancy (New Mini) who indicated they would join. New members: Ron
Harr (TR6), Mark Myers (Jaguar), and Bruce and Phyllis Tilden (Alfa Romeo). We had some members who have not
been with us recently, They were Mike Walden (TR6), and Clay Brooke with his bride to be Jennifer on May 5 (Old
Mini). Our regular members who make a lot of the drives were: Mike Hemsley (Lotus), Dave Terhune (MGBGT). David
and Connie Wright (MGBGT), Gil and Marge DuPre (MGA), Scott and Vickie McAllister (MGTF) Paul and Trish Ba-
tovsky (Marcos), and Mike Teresa Flood (MGB) and Doug, Sandy Forquer.

I hope everyone makes the Bash on March 30, and the Rymer Run on April 13.

On the SBCC Roads

Mike

FLORIDA CAR SHOW WEST PALM BEACH

On February 17th I and two long time college friends attended the 26th annual British Car Show in West
Palm Beach, Florida. The show was hosted by the Gold Coast British Car Club. Mary and I have attended
this show the last few years and always enjoyed it. This year I attended with two college friends, one who I
had not seen in over fifty years. While in college I had a '57 MGA. One friend had a '56 MGA and the other
had a '56 Healey 100. These many years later, we have all kept our love for sports cars, especially the British
cars.

The show was well attended with many beautiful cars. I took pictures of a couple of the more rare cars that
we don't usually see. There were many different Jaguar models however the 1939 Jaguar SS 100 was my fa-
vorite (pictures included). Check out the other pictures that include: a Jenson Interceptor, a Griffith, a
Daimler, a 1951 Lea Francis and a pretty nice Morris Wagon. In all the British manufactured over 200 differ-
ent brands much like the USA.

Since I have been attending this show, it has always been held at a retail location. Besides the participants,
they pull in lots of visitors.

Your South Florida Reporter,

Gary Higbee
