Prologue
The Hunt
Team Bravo dropped into the hot zone three minutes after radio contact w
as lost with Alpha, primarily they were sent as a search and rescue, but it was
more of a clean up job, bits of body s everywhere, the walls caked in blood, and t
hree hearts impaled into the stone walls
Sergeant Adams we got a breather! a rookie hollered across the massacre, S
Sgt Adams made his way across the room to find lieutenant Gray, half dead proppe
d against a wall, blood gushing from a major incision in his side, he knelt down
to Gray and spoke calmly in his ear, which one? he inquired, Lt Gray took time t
o respond eventually he gasped L Lucius before bleeding out, immediately SSgt Adams r
oared everyone fall back now!, The Elder is in the vicinity, back to the chopper.
the men raced back to the chopper, it was their only hope of survival, Bravo nor
mally would have fought, but The Elder was above there ability to take down, jus
t as the troops and SSgt Adams made it outside, the ground shuddered, and a deaf
ening explosion wiped out the closest soldier, the bastard hit the chopper.
BACK TO BACK! SSgt Adams roared, the men panicked and quickly got into pos
ition, the troops flicked on there UV led torches, and started to scan the area,
the next moments were full of confusion, several shots were fired, men screamed
in pain, but when the dust settled only SSgt Adams remained and he was running,
faster than he thought he could, but it wasn t enough the assailant kept up with
ease, eventually lightening fast he darted in front of SSgt Adams, and grabbed h
im by the throat, and hoisted him into the air.
Good evening sergeant came a low, growling voice,
Lucius Adams Replied, struggling to breath under the grip of the attacker
The man moved Adams closer to his face, his angled features and pale complexion
were the stuff of myth and legend, and yet here he was.
I warned you sergeant, I warned you if we met again I would kill you , Luci
us said smugly But I m offering you a choice, become the hunter, rather than the hu
nted, join me, and live for eternity
This offer made Adams think, could he justify this to him self? Did he need to?
There was no contest. Then something happened, Lucius s eyes widened, someone else
was with them. Put him down Lucian came a calm voice from the shadows Or I ll person
ally see you buried alive The man left the shadows. Matted black hair sprouted fr
om the mans head. He wore a leather jacket and denim jeans but no shoes. Lucian
began to shake uncontrollably Markus.. he gasped. Yes the man replied, so start runni
ng . Lucian immediately dropped Adams and vanished into the night. Sergeant Adams Ma
rkus addressed him My name is Markus Corvinius he took Adams hand and helped him t
o his feet I am the demon from which vampirism spawned, and I m the one who is goin
g to help you win this war

Chapter one
Dawn of the Creatures of the Night

Markus crashed to earth with a cataclysmic impact, but he expected nothing less,
being thrown from the heavens was going to hurt like a bitch, so much so that f
or the first time he feared death, being an Angel he had no fear of this, but no
w cast from heaven, to join the fallen for his crimes and conspiracies he was no
longer immortal. Three days later a man walked to where Markus lay, the man, we
aring a white suit, crouched by Markus, who miraculously had fought off death fo
r the time being, noticed something about the man, his eyes, no colour in his p
upils, the cold aura to him, and of course, the blood splatter over his heart.
Markus my old friend he said in a hoarse voice extending his hand to the b
attered body and touching his chest, his bones realigned and he sat up involunta
rily.
Remember me? he chuckled
Of course Lucifer, how could I forget you?
It has been a while
Not long enough Markus cut him off what do you want Lu, are you here to tor
ture me? he questioned. Lucifer looked hurt by his remark, Quite the opposite, I c
ome to offer life! he chuckled cruelly But I m afraid even for you it will come at a
cost he said grimly Unfortunately you have to die first he stated snapping his fin
gers, and with that a man in a military trench coat appeared, pockets and straps
adorned his attire a sling on his shoulder holding some sort handle indicated w
ho he was, if his hollow eyes, and pale face did not, it was Grim, during the da
y, his face was handsome, and human, but a night, he came into a league of appea
rance generally reserved for the dead Masteeeeeer he wheezed it is not this ones ti
me he continued, to produce a pocket watch with Markus engraved on It It still tic
ks he groaned, Shut up about the fucking watch my Reaper, he is making a deal with
me Lucifer snapped at the bewildered Grim, snatching the pocket watch from the d
eathly figure he stated he is to join us Grim, someone to walk the day with you he
mused, snapping the lid from the watch, Markus, fallen angel, servant of the lor
d God, with these words I, Lucifer damn thee to hell, to serve as I see fit for
all eternity, will you comply? he announced with an outstanding authority, Markus
nodded I do, I will serve thee Lucifer, as your creature of the darkness , and wit
h that, shadows engulfed Markus, a tornado of darkness, stripping the soul from
his still living body.
The darkness in the cavern where Markus awoke was impossible to fathom,
though, through a miracle his eyes adjusted and he saw before him what God had a
lways opposed, the throne of the Angel of darkness, cast from heaven for his dem
onic tendencies, Lucifer sat before Markus, he snapped his hands to attract Mark
us s attention Welcome brother, to the lowest level of hell he chuckled My, and now y
our home, but I must now confess to you of a deception friend he looked disconten
t with himself you are not what you once were, and can never be again, for you wh
ile taking the oath, specified your own form, that I cannot change he finished su
llenly. Markus sat, confused by his words What do you mean? came a growl from his
throat, this was not his angelic tone, what had he become.

e.
WHAT! What falsehoods have you tricked me with Satan?
Easy Markus, I will do for you what I can, it was caused by your words.
Markus steadied himself and stood up, his bones felt numb, as did his entire bod
y. How long was I out? he inquired, Lu replied with a smile bout .eighteen years I m af
raid. Markus stood in silence for a moment. No wonder I m so numb he joked so what I m
iss? Lu chuckled You missed the birth of Jesus Christ but no worry; you re just in t
ime for his seventeenth!
Markus and Grim stood outside the gathering, The Disciples of Christ, So
that s Jesus eh Grim? Markus muttered, yeah that s him alright, he aint all he s made ou
t to be , he turned to Markus oh and by the way, call me Adam, I so detest Grim , Mar
kus laughed in reply, then began to walk forward to approach Jesus, Christ son of
the Lord he stated I come to thee, to be forgiven of my sins with that he kneeled,
Jesus turned to face him Speak thy name sinner and thou shalt be forgiven Markus
Burst out in laughter at the statement I find that difficult to believe son of Go
d, It was your father who cast me from heaven for my sins, I doubt you alone cou
ld for give me he arose in front of Jesus My name is Markus Corvinius, Fallen ange
l and creature of darkness, immortal servant, and I wish you many happy returns
on this day of your birth and with that the demonic features lying beneath Markus s
human exterior surfaced his skin turned gray, and smoke enveloped his body, whe
n it cleared it was gone, and Jesus was left, to calm the crowds as to what they
had witnessed.
so what s your story? Markus questioned Adam, he turned to Markus what this? h
e reached back and touched his hand to staff of his scythe, the skin contorted a
round his hand as his finger tips touched the wood, tightening, growing pale, de
ad, it s a long story , Markus laughed in reply I ve got all of eternity to hear it, bet
ter start from the beginning Adam laughed well you already know the basics, you se
e, I m Adam, as in Adam and Eve, everyone knows my story he took a seat on a bolder
near by What most people know is after we were expelled from Eden, Eve and I rai
sed a family, thirty three sons, and twenty three daughters, though the only one
s you will know by name are Cain, Abel and Seth, but of course there were thirty
others, one of whom was attacked by a lion, though mortally wounded, he did not
die. When I begged God to allow him to die he refused, so I turned to Lucifer,
reluctantly I might add. he paused for a moment, as if lamenting his decision Luci
fer handed me a scythe, he told me that for my sun to pass over I must reap his
soul and so I did. What he did not tell me however is that it was the scythe lef
t to him by god to reap souls, and that anyone who willingly took the scythe fro
m him would be forever branded the reaper. Markus smirked lifes a bitch like that
I suppose Adam laughed nah mate, the after life is a bitch. the pair laughed togeth
er. Markus felt oddly akin to Adam now. More so than when they met on the dark p
lane of sorrow.
New idea is to remove the vampire opening and have shadowy figures discussing ho
w it got this way (undecided as to what it will mean, no explanation given) hint
ing at demonic uprising/ evil devil work etc then into markus s story and the othe
rs, not sure on plot outline yet
