I am pleased to confirm your place on the Palladium Hostile Environment Training Course (HEAT) on the

We have a challenging experience planned for you over the three days and ask that delegates participate
fully for the group to gain maximum benefit from shared experiences. We will present a mix of scenarios to
allow you to learn tips and techniques you can use whilst travelling to keep safe and secure.

The main objective of this course is to ensure that you are properly prepared to deal with a wide range of
situations that you might face when working in a challenging location. I hope that you will find the HEAT

1. Course Outline

The course timetable is:

o DAY 1: 0850hrs to 1730hrs


o DAY 2: 0850hrs to 1730hrs
o DAY 3: 0850hrs to 1730hrs

The course location, address Mt Cotton Training Centre, 1753-1799 Mt Cotton Road Cornubia 4130.
Please report to reception on arrival where the trainers will meet you. The training will be both classroom
theory and outdoor practical instruction, which may include first aid training. Delegates must attend all of
the sessions in order to pass the course. Please allow plenty of time to arrive before the scheduled start
time, as there is a lot to fit in on each day. Only your instructors will know the exact schedule, but rest
assured, there won’t be many gaps in the timetable.

Delegates should be physically able and willing to participate in all aspects of the course. You should be
aware there may be the sound of rifle fire and controlled explosions as well as the use of some graphic
imagery during the theory lessons.

Our aim is to make course as realistic as possible reflecting on the conditions you could be faced with
whilst abroad. Therefore if you have any concerns with any aspect of the course please approach one of
the trainers or speak to your own security contact.

We recommend that you arrive in loose fitting clothes and trainers with a change of clothes in case you get
wet. During cold periods, it is recommended to bring some extra layers to keep warm when outside. A light
lunch is provided on all three days of the course.

Exercise scenarios

At various stages during the course, we will present you with fictitious scenarios designed to simulate the
types of country you may be operating in. We will present a fictitious country brief, risks associated to that
country, and different tasks to be conducted within that risk environment. You will receive further briefing
material when you arrive on the course that you will have to read and digest through the course.

The Mt Cotton Training Venue is situated about 35 minutes outside the city centre.

3. Delegate fitness questionnaire

owed. This information will enable the Spearfish course tutors to take into account the physical limitations (if any) of the course delegates when

Agreement to the providing of the required personal data is a condition of acceptance onto this course. Please note that sensitive Personal Data
(as defined under the Act) will not be disclosed without your specific consent. Information will not be released to third parties for marketing

3. Declaration of Acceptance to undertake Physical Skills
Training

q I accept to undertake the forthcoming course and I have made the instructors aware of any personal limitations I may have with regard to
undertaking a physical course and I have completed the medical questionnaire highlighting any physical injuries or issues with regard to my health
that the instructors should be aware of;

q I understand and accept that, while the Spearfish course tutors will operate the course in accordance with best practice and health and safety
requirements to reduce any possible risks to health and safety, no physical course can offer a complete guarantee of safety and that there is a risk
involved with regard to injury on undertaking such training;

q I will at all times conduct my self with due regard to my health and safety and the health and safety of others on the course and I will obey all
lawful instructions given to me and comply as far as is practicable with the safety briefs provided for my safety;

q If I am injured during the course I will immediately bring this to the attention of one or both of the course tutors;

q I will at all times take whatever action is necessary to reduce or eliminate the risk of injury to myself and others by undertaking the training in
accordance with the safety instructions and briefings provided for the safety of myself and others;

q I will not attempt to teach any technique shown to me during the course without the express permission of the course tutors;

q I will not teach or demonstrate any technique from any other training source without first gaining permission from the course tutors;

I may be removed from the training immediately at the discretion of the course tutors;
