Figure 1
2- Close switch (S1), and open switch (S2), then adjust the DC current
of the field circuit till it reaches the rated current (0.4 A) in the DC
generator.
3- Increase the three phase voltage till the rated voltage (380 V line).
4- Adjust the resistive load to the max resistance, then close switch
(S2) and take the measurements (input power, input AC current,
input AC voltage, output DC voltage, output DC current, speed).
5- Change load resistance and take measurements as in step (4).

6- Open switch (S2), then open the switch (S1) (to apply unbalance
case), and notice the sound of the machine and the readings of the
two watt meters (one of the watt meters reads zero power).
7- Adjust the resistive load to max resistance, then close switch (S2)
and take the measurements (input power, input AC current, input
AC voltage, output DC voltage, output DC current, speed).
8- Change the resistive load and take measurements as in step (8).
Results
1- Tabulate the measurements for the two cases (balanced and
unbalanced cases) in two separate tables (insert these tables in the
report).
Induction motor (balanced case) DC generator

3- Draw the flowing relations (for the two cases on the same graph)
Torque and speed
Torque and motor input current
Output power and input power factor
Output power and efficiency
Then comment on these graphs
Assignment
1- Build a Matlab/Simulink model to simulate the induction motor
coupled with DC generator for the two cases, then draw the same
graphs mentioned above.
Note: Insert table with your own parameters (stator and rotor
resistances and inductances – magnetizing resistance and
reactances)
