students who do not hold the required IELTS score and have not yet passed PLAB.
The course consists of eight weeks of intensive English training with the aim of getting
students’ English raised by approximately 0.5 IELTS. This is followed by intensive PLAB 1 and
PLAB 2 coaching.
Course aims

encourage and help you develop an understanding of the academic and cultural context
of university study in order for you to be fully involved in your degree course.
The primary focus is on developing your English language skills to enable you to manage
degree-level study. This includes factors such as
study skills
reading for gist
planning and submitting an academic project
listening to lectures
note-making
giving presentations
taking part in seminars
Once students have completed the English tuition they will be expected to sit the IELTS
exam and achieve a 7.5 overall with 7.0 in each category.

After this course students are expected to sit and pass the PLAB 1 exam allowing them
progression onto the PLAB 2 preparation course.
PLAB 2 preparation
The PLAB 2 exam tuition training is an intensive seven day course and will cover all areas of
the PLAB 2 exam including: medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology,
psychiatry, ethics, breaking bad news, history taking, management of common diseases,
data interpretation, interpersonal and communication skills and also mannequin
examinations which are in line with the new PLAB 2 scenarios.
Course Costs
The full PG Pre Med course costs £2,600.
Entry requirements
Applicants should already have IELTS at 7.0 overall (minimum of 6.5 in each section) or OET
of C. Students will be expected to obtain a six month, short-term study visa for the duration
of the course.
