and Threats of an enterprise.
II. PERFORMANCE The learner will perform a SWOT Analysis.
STANDARD
III. LEARNING Learning Competency: The learner will be able to construct a SWOT Analysis before starting a
COMPETENCIES business venture.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the session, the learner should be able to:
1. Explain SWOT Analysis clearly.
2. Differentiate internal and external elements of a business.
3. Appreciate the importance of understanding the Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities and Threats of a business.
4. Create a tower model which symbolizes your business.

IV. SUBJECT MATTER Topic : The SWOT Analysis

Materials :Activity Sheets, Laptop, Television, Power point presentation, chalk, meter
stick,manila paper
V. PROCEDURE 1. ROUTINARY ACTIVITIES: (5 minutes)
1. Prayer.
2. Checking of classroom condition.
3. Greetings.
4. Checking of attendance.
5. Recall.

2. PRIMING. 4 PICS, ONE WORD. The teacher will have a game, let the students guess
the pictures and unlock the terms:

Words: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats

After the game, the teacher will ask the students the following questions:
Guide Questions:
1. What are the set of words that we have?
2. How are these related to our topic for today?

A. ACTIVITY (25 minutes)


1. Pre-Activity. Let the students give their ideas, about the topic. Then the teacher
will unlock some of the terms about SWOT Analysis.
2. Activity Proper.
Unlocking of Terms: Let the students unlock the terms in doing Act 3, ‘Build it up!
 The class will be divided into 5 groups. Each group will create a tower which
symbolizes their business. They will be given 5 minutes to perform their
activity. The group that makes the tallest and strongest tower will win.
 A representative of the group will present their output by answering the
guide questions.
 Then the teacher will facilitate the discussion.
The following are the criteria for Tower Building:
 Durability – It must not fall. 50 %
 Height – It must be the tallest tower in the class. 50 %
Total: 100%

A. ANALYSIS (15 minutes)


1. What is the height of your tower?
2. How did you make your tower durable?
3. How does your tower differ from the other groups in terms of strengths?
4. Why it is important to know the strengths of your business? Weaknesses?
5. What are the challenges or threats of your tower?
6. Why it is important to know the threats?
7. Did you make a plan before you construct your tower? Is planning
important?
8. Do you think planning is important?
9. Why do you think SWOT Analysis is important in a business?

B. ABSTRACTION (10 minutes)

Let the student realize that SWOT Analysis is similar to Scientific Method.
