Selection of an organization is the initial step towards the process of commencement of the
project. For this very reason we have to identify and select the best organization which meets our
requirements.

For this very reason we have to follow a sequence of steps in the process of the selection of an
organization.

STRENGTHS
All our members are familiar and good friends with each other so our major strength was Co-
operation and Co-ordination among our group members which made the base stronger and most
suitable for the commencement of any activity .Secondly the organization selected for the project
is Nokia which is well known not just by us but it’s famous all over the world so it’s a lot more
easier to gain information about the culture and about the activities of the organization. It helped
us a lot in our work. Then one of the other benefit that we have is that our parents have financed
us for this project so we just don’t need to panic for any kind of activity we just need to take a
peek in our wallets.

WEAKNESSES
Time is the major obstacle that we are to face in our project because we have a limited time and
also because of the stress of other subjects which demand their attention as well so we have a
limited time for conducting our meetings and mostly of the work regarding the project is done at
homes and then E-mailed to the rest of the group members it’s then observed by them all and
then discussed later on so its time taking and also one of our major disabilities are that we are
really poor when it comes to stress handling so we have to work it out. Presentation Skills, which
a Manager should have is the quality that some of our members lack yet but we are working on
improving that weakness because it may lead us to failure in achieving the point that we have
targeted for ourselves.

As mentioned earlier one of the opportunities that we have is that we have selected an
organization that is well known and famous all over the world so we can easily gain access to its
previous records and the steps it took to make it this far from the internet also that we ourselves
are familiar with the products of the organization and a few of the organizational activities.

We also have an opportunity that we can gain in our project help from our senior friends who
have already passed from these phases in order to gain perfectly desired results.

As per the requirement of the project we might actually need to go to the organization ourselves
and get information regarding the managerial activities, organizational culture and the work
environment of the organization, thus interacting with unknown people may help us improve our
Presentational Skills.

THREATS
As mentioned above in our Weaknesses that some of our group members lack presentational
skills or in other words they fear coming in front of the audience, to express what they have
observed or what they have learned, like if they lack something even if they don’t this is our
major threat that may lead us to facing trouble at the end of the project.Work Stress of other
subjects has a strong influence on the performance of this project or results in diversion of
attention towards other work. This is a major threat that may lead us to Dis-quality.

Due to being a part of a huge group previously we are not used to Overwork so that’s causing a
lot of difficulties. We have to do a lot of work by our self so it’s putting a negative impact on the
quality of the project but we are making our way through this.

FIRST MEETING
The first meeting of the group was held on Thursday 1st of April 2010 in which all group
members participated actively.

REASON OF THE MEETING

The main purpose of this meeting was to plan about the project. In this meeting we discussed
about the Selection of Organization for the project. Many organizations were put forwarded by
the members as options but mainly our opinions intersected at Nokia, Proctor & Gamble and
Zong.

Other than the selection of organizations we discussed how to plan about the upcoming lectures
and how to handle the schedule. Many innovative ideas were put forwarded and were taken
under consideration. The discussion was productive and good.

CONCLUSION
To conclude this meeting we can say that it was quite successful because we were able to select
the organization but were not able to plan for the upcoming lectures. Thus we decided to collect
the information about our selected organization.

SECOND MEETING
The second meeting of group E was held on 6th April 2010. All the members attended this
meeting. The details of this meeting are as follows.

SELECTION OF ORGANIZATION
In this meeting Nokia was selected as the organization of our project. There were many reasons
behind selecting this organization. The most important reason that we selected Nokia is that
Nokia is a well-known organization across the world and also that lots of information was
available on the internet So the task of knowing about the organization its behavior and about its
strategies would be easy.

PLANNING
The second thing that was discussed was planning for the future i.e. how to handle the project
and how to finish it in the best way.

THIRD MEETING
The third meeting was conducted soon after the sessional exams and in this meeting we divided
our work in the group and also budgeted our project.

o First visit to Nokia Care was held on 6th of May 2010 after attaining the PERMISSION
LETTER from the university.

Ali Rehman and Muhammad Nauman Rashid were the volunteers who performed this
task and went to Nokia Care with a Simple Questionnaire.

After reaching the organization they went and asked the receptionist if they could get an
interview of the manager for a brief time but unfortunately the manager was very busy
and couldn’t find time to attend us or to answer any of our quarries.

o Second time we visited Nokia Care on 10th of May 2010 again the volunteers were Ali
Rehman and Muhammad Nauman Rashid along with the questionnaire.

We met the manager and interviewed him and found answers to majority of our questions
which we had in mind.

In this meeting we asked the manager Mr. Adil Durez Khan the following questions

1. How you classify your managers.

2. What roles your management plays.

3. What is your criterion of measuring efficiency and effectiveness of

employees?

4. What kind of skills you think is most important for being a manager
at Nokia care.

5. How you respond to your customers’ needs?

6. What kind of organizational culture you have?

o The third time we went to Nokia Care was on 14th of May 14, 2010 just after attending
our class at approximately 11:30 am and reached there just half an hour before the lunch
break.

In this meeting with Mr. Adil we asked the following questions and he humbly replied to
all of them.
