ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

There are various methods used for mapmaking, one of which is using
remote sensing satellites. Creating maps using remote sensing satellites is
considered to be effective with low cost, faster processing, and wider coverage.
Many satellites have provided remote sensing data for both active and passive
sensors, as well as high-resolution, medium-resolution, and low-resolution
images. Active sensors have advantages of data retrieval processes that can be
done during the day and night, using radar electromagnetic waves so as not to
interfere with cloud cover and not affected by weather constraints. One of the
methods used for active sensors is the Synthetic Apperture Radar.

This study uses sentinel-1 data to be processed through orthorectification

stage. At this stage sentinel-1 images that do not yet have field coordinates will
have field coordinates. The orthorectification method used is the Terrain
Correction Doppler Range method. The results of these orthorectification will
then be compared with the points of ICP and Bing Map.

After review with comparable data, ICP size results were fielded using the
Bing map. Sentinel image yields accuracy as shown by RMSe value of 0.322484.
