Glossary of Ingredients

Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe Vera is well respected for its application as a moisturizing agent. It contains vitamin B complex, folic acid, vitamin C and
carotene (a precursor of vitamin A). It is already being commercially used in soaps, creams, lotions, and other cosmetics. The Aloe
Vera gel juice we use is a thin liquid designed for application in manufacturing processes. It is safe for direct application to the skin,
but should not be confused with a gel.

International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI): Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice

Emu Oil (regular)

Emu Regular Oil is suited for use in for use in soaps, cosmetics, creams and lotions.

Extraction Method: Emu Oil is extracted using food grade solvents. It is fully Refined and Molecularly Distilled - Safety & Purity
Assured. The molecular distillation removes unwanted toxins such as heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, arsenic and other
cancer causing toxins.

Aromatic Description: Emu Regular is a creamy pink heavy liquid with almost no odor.

Common Uses: Emu Oil is an effective agent on dry irritated skin and it won't clog pores! It has anti-inflammatory properties that
help to reduce scarring, ease the discomfort of insect bites and reduce the healing times of burns. It is also reputed to help reduce
swelling and joint pain, particularly in those areas where actual joints are closer to the skin such as hand, feet, ankles and knees.
Emu Oil also helps to reduce bruising and stiffness in muscles.

Vegetable Glycerin

Vegetable Glycerin is the result of a sophisticated extraction method called Hydrolysis, with the final product being referred to as
Vegetable Glycerin. This system is based on the fats and oils of a raw product (typically palm or coconut) that are then split into
crude glycerol fats, under the combined action of water, temperature and pressure. These temperatures can exceed 400° degrees
and the material is usually kept under pressure for 20-30 minutes. What is actually occurring is a sort of counter-flow where the
water absorbs glycerol from the fatty acid phase of the oil production. After this phase this glycerol is isolated and further distilled
to give a standard 99% Glycerin product. Vegetable Glycerin is a clear, colorless, and odorless viscous liquid. It is used as an
agent in cosmetics, toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, herbal remedies, pharmaceuticals, and other household items. It is invaluable
as a natural source ingredient with emollient-like properties which can soften and soothe the skin and it assists the outer epidermis
to retain moisture. This helps to explain why it is one of the most popular cosmetic additives used today.

INCI: Glycerin

Silk Peptides

Silk Peptides are a highly purified grade of natural silk power, processed in such a way as to retain the original physical structure
and chemical composition of silk. This is a 100% natural silk protein, in a fine powder form for ease of use. It also has the unusual
quality of holding and releasing moisture depending on the temperature and humidity of the surroundings. INCI: Hydrolyzed Silk

Application: Silk Peptide can be used in a wide variety of products such as shampoo, conditioner, hair treatment, body wash,
body lotion, cleaner, toner, makeup foundation, lipstick, mascara, color cosmetics.

Solubiliser

This product is a Sorbaitan Monolaurate (Polysorbates) that has been ethoxylated with approximately 20 moles of ethlene oxide to
produce a water soluble, oil and water emulsifier. Solubiliser can also be used as a wetting agent, viscosity modifier, anti-stat,
stabilizer and dispersing agent. It is the final ingredient necessary when combining fragrance oil with water-based products like
baby shampoo because of very low eye irritation, body wash, toiletries, cosmetics and ointments. It is perfect for keeping the
product clear and un-cloudy & prevents any separation of the oils or fragrance..

INCI: Polysorbate 20

Soy Lecithin

Soya Lecithin can be found in almost all living cells and is high in B vitamins and anti-oxidants. It is used across a broad range of
products, from moisturizing creams, ointments, baby oils, lotions, lipsticks & shampoos. In relation to skin care, it has an advanced
softening and moisturizing action that leaves the skin soft and supple so it is very suitable for very dry & dehydrated
skin. INCI: Soy Lecithin
Titanium Dioxide

Also known as titanium(IV) oxide or titania, Titanium Dioxide is the naturally occurring oxide of titanium. It is a white to off-white
powder and is widely used to provide whiteness and opacity to products such as soaps, creams, lotions and cosmetics. It is
soluble in water and can be used as a thickening agent in skin care manufacturing.

INCI: Titanium Dioxide

Vitamin E oil.

Vitamin E plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage. This protection extends to
stopping damage to the skin from UV rays, pollutants and aging. It provides deep miniaturization for the skin whilst allowing the
skin to breathe and function naturally, therefore helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. For use in cosmetics, Vitamin E is a
natural preservative that helps sustain shelf life of products. INCI: Tocopherol Acetate

Witch Hazel

Witch Hazel is an alcoholic extract from the leaves, flowers and bark of the hamamelis tree. It contains a mixture of 85-86 %
aqueous witch hazel extract and 14-15 % ethyl alcohol as a preservative. One of nature's best astringents, there is probably no
better tonic or toner for skin care preparations. It is frequently used in products like after shave lotions, where it shows mildly
styptic properties as well as helping to reduce razor burn and swelling through its cool soothing sensation. In skincare, Witch Hazel
can be used as toner or in place of a cleanser. It is particularly beneficial for oil and problem skin through its more gentle
properties.

Zinc Oxide

Zinc Oxide is a white powder with wonderful astringent properties. It physically works to provide 28 times the skin's natural
protections against harmful UVA & UVB rays and has a great soothing effect for use in many skin preparations. On top of this, it is
an inert ingredient, often used to thicken lotions and creams.

INCI: Zinc Oxide

Allantoin

Description: Natural active ingredient derived from roots & leaves of the comfrey plant, purity 98 %, Synonyms: 5-ureidohydantoin,

glyoxyl-diureide, 2,5-dioxo-4-imidazolidinyl-urea. CAS# 97-59-6.

Properties: Protects skin (e.g. burns, sunburns, scrapes), repairing agent by promoting keratolysis & cell proliferation (e g.

chapped. cracked skin & lips), relieves dryness, soothing effects (e.g. diaper rash).

INCI Name: Allantoin.

Avobenzone

Description: High efficacy oil-soluble UVA filter. Properties: High efficacy oil-soluble UVA filter, can be combined with other

sunscreens (e.g. octocrylene, homosalate, ethylhexyl salicylate, OM-cinnamate).

Applications: Sun care products, baby sun care products, daily sun protection, decorative cosmetics

INCI Name: Butyl methoxydibenzoyl methane.

Bees Wax

Description: Cosmetic grade bees wax, glandular excretion product from bees, composed of myricin (mixture of >70 wax esters) &

cerin (mixture of fatty acids: palmitinic, cerotinic & melissinic acid), purity > 98%. Properties: Non-gelling thickener (viscosity

enhancer), emulsifier, emollient, film forming agent Applications: Creams, lotions, pomades, balms, ointments, lipsticks, mascara,

foundations, eye shadows, cold creams, protective creams

INCI Name: Bees wax.

Gelmaker EMU

Description: Preneutralized polymer in an inverse emulsion that forms hydro-swelling droplets (HSD) in water.
Properties: Excellent thickener by forming gels over a wide ph range (4-12), emulsifies all kinds of oily phases (up to 40%) incl.

silicones & vegetable oils without the addition of a conventional emulsifier, able to produce cold emulsions, stabilizes emulsions &

maintains the viscosity of a formula, gives light & pleasant texture to spread on skin.

Applications: Gel-creams, emulsion-gels, cold emulsions, lotions, creams, skin-whitening /self-tanning products, sun care & baby

care products, mascara, foundations

INCI Name: Sodium acrylate / acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer / isohexadecane/ polysorbate 80.

Green Tea Extract

Description: Ecocert certified green tea extract made from evergreen leaves of a small Asian tree that is cultivated in different

regions. Undeveloped leaves are harvested manually, steamed to prevent fermentation, and then pressed and dried. The functional

compounds of Green Tea extract are polyphenols & methylxanthines which have antioxidant & antiinflammatory effects.

Properties: Potent antioxidant and antiinflammatory agent, inhibits collagen degradation in the skin by inhibiting enzymatic

metalloproteinases

Application: Anti-aging formulas, sun care and after-sun care products, anti-cellulite treatments and hair care products

INCI Name: Camellia sinensis leaf extract, glycerin, water.

Haloxyl

Description: Haloxyl is a combination of active ingredients able to absorb and eliminate colored blood pigments in the skin that are

responsible for dark circles under the eyes. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect and reinforces firmness and tone of the eye area.

Properties: Haloxyl lessens under eye dark circles and reinforces firmness and tone of the eye area. In a study with 22 female

volunteers the application of a gel containing 2% Haloxyl for 56 days resulted in an improvement of dark circles in more than 70% as

assessed by image analysis and computerized measurement of color parameters. Can be combined with soy-rice peptide for anti-

puffiness and anti-dark circle.

Hyaluronic Acid

Description: Biotechnologically produced from glucose, soy peptone & yeast extract. Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide

(large sugar molecule) that occurs in various tissues (skin, synovial fluids of joints, connective tissues). Responsible for tissue

hydration, lubrication, & tissue stability, holds 500 times its own weight of water.

Properties: Most powerful moisturizer & humectant known so far, provides smoothness & softening to the skin, excellent anti-wrinkle

effects, promotes growth of new skin cells after peelings, supports wound healing.

Application: Hydrating gels, moisturizing creams & lotions, anti-aging & anti-wrinkle products, pre/after sun lotions, protecting /

nourishing & moisturizing skin care products, treatments for sensitive, dry skin

INCI Name: Sodium hyaluronic acid.

Jojoba Oil

Description: Pure natural liquid wax (not an oil as such) derived from the seeds of a plant (simmondsia chinensis) growing in the

Sonora desert in the USA, composed of different liquid wax esters similar to human sebaceous, based on fatty acids & fatty alcohols

(no triglycerides), cold-pressed, insoluble in water.

Properties: Precious moisturizer & emollient (prevents transdermal water loss), anti-wrinkle agent (provides smoothness &

softness), good lubricant (without oil film, penetrates the skin), protects partly from UV radiation (SPF about 4).

Applications: Lotions, creams, nourishing skin & hair care products, body washes, shampoos, baby products, sun care & after sun

products, makeup products, bath oils, facial rinses, hair rinses.

INCI Name: Jojoba oil.

OM Cinnamate

Description: Ester of methoxycinnamate made of a derivative of cinnamic acid (occurring in plants like balsam of Peru, cinnamon

leaves) with methyl acetate. Synonyms: 2-ethylhexyl-p-methoxycinnamate. Purity >98%.

Properties: Potent absorber of sun rays (mainly UVB, less UVA).

Applications: Sun care & after-sun products, hair care products, protective creams & lotions, liquid makeup products

INCI Name: Octyl methoxycinnamate.

Oxybenzone

Description: Aromatic ketone (synonyms: 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzophenone, benzophenone-3). Pale yellow crystalline powder,
weak rose-like odor. Water-insoluble, soluble in alcohol & oil. CAS# 131-57-7.

Properties: Potent UVA & UVB absorber (primarily UVB but also UVA), protects from sun-induced skin aging (UVA), enhances UVB

protection of other sunscreens (e.g. homosalate, octyl salicylate, OM-cinnamate, octinoxate), protects polymers & organic substances

in cosmetic products, stabilizes complex formulations & color cosmetics.

Applications: Sun care products (incl. baby sun care), color cosmetics with sun protection, various cosmetics & fragrances for

product protection.

INCI Name: Benzophenone-3.

Rose Hip Oil

Description: Natural oil extracted from the seeds of the rosehip or wildrose (Rosa Aff. Rubiginosa). High in linoleic & linolenic

essential fatty acids which are key components of epidermal skin cells. Clear yellowish liquid.

Properties: Excellent emollient & moisturizer, leaves the skin soft, smooth & hydrated, helps heal surgical scars burns & eczema,

helps to reduce wrinkles, ideal to treat distressed skin.

Application: Creams, lotions, protecting & healing creams, ointments, bath oils, makeup & sun care products, personal & baby care

Shea Butter

Description: Plant fat of the nuts of the African Karite tree (ambuk butter), 100% organic, contains allantoin, vitamin A & E, and

many cinnamic & unsaponifiable lipids (e.g. stearic & oleic acids) for a potent moisturizing effect.

Properties: Potent moisturizer & emollient, provides ultimum skin care protection (also partly against UV radiation), anti-

inflammatory & soothing properties (heals minor wounds & irritated skin), anti-aging effects.

Applications: Lotions, creams, sun care & after sun products, facial moisturizers, body butter, ointments

INCI Name: Butyrospermum parkii.

Skintight AP

Description: High-purity algae extract from micro algae (Nannochloropsis oculata) combined with pullulan, a film-forming natural

sugar (glucan) from the fungus A. Pullulans. Contains vitamin C & B12 as antioxidants; Properties: Immediate skin tightening effect
and also long-term effect by protecting skin cells from oxidative stress & strengthening skin’s connective tissue by stimulating

collagen synthesis & renewal of tissue cells, Pullulan also retains moisture.

Application: All kinds of tightening treatments (gels, lotions, serums), face masks, lifting products , décolleté treatments, anti-aging

& anti-wrinkle products, hydrating / rejuvenating products.

INCI Name: Algae extract, pullulan.

Teprenone

Description: Comprehensive anti-ageing. Teprenone works on the origin of youth and targets the cell components that ensure
lifespan and youth. It improves tissue quality and can extend cell lifespan by one third!
Properties: Teprenone fights against all signs of aging by improving dehydration, age spots and ineffective barrier function.
Teprenone improves skin moisture, redness and pore size, skin roughness and fine lines in 75 to 100% of the test persons. The
overall texture of the skin improved and restored to a more youthful state.
Applications: Anti-aging & anti-wrinkle creams & lotions, eye gels.

INCI Name: caprylic/capric triglyceride, teprenone. Definition: Geranylgeranone (GGA) in a lipophilic solvent.

Triglyceride

Description: Lipid (triester) composed of glycerin, caprylic & capric fatty acids derived from coconut & palm kernel oils, very similar
to natural triglycerides. Clear oily liquid, no or faint odor. Insoluble in water, soluble in warm alcohols, miscible with fats & oils. CAS#
73398-61-5 / 65381-09-1.

INCI Name: Caprylic / capric triglyceride.

Properties: Exceptional low-viscosity emollient & lubricant leaving a soft & non-greasy feel, improves spreading of creams & lotions,
excellent vehicle & solvent for lipophilic active ingredients & UV filters (improves their effectivness).

Use: Can be added to formulas as is, usual final concentration 5-50%.

Applications: Widely applicable as emollient for "oil-free products", non-oxidizing fat base & solvent of active ingredients in skin, hair
care & makeup products.

Tripeptide - 5

Description: Highly bioactive, deeply skin penetrating peptide (palmitoyl tripeptide-5) able to activate tissue growth factor (TGF-
beta) that stimulates collagen synthesis in the skin.

Properties: Potent stimulation of collagen synthesis in the skin, actively irons out any type of wrinkle, good skin firming &
moisturizing properties, able to repair stretch marks, clinically proven to be effective & safe (study with 60 volunteers showed 350%
wrinkle reduction after 84 days treatment). Good alternate to collagen injections, used in lip products to help stimulate collagen
synthesis.

Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)

Description: Lavender Population is an evergreen woody shrub, up to 1 meter tall, with pale green, narrow linear leaves and violet
blue flowers.

Color: Pale yellow to yellow liquid.

Common Uses: Properties of Lavender Population Essential Oil include analgesic, anti-convulsive, anti-depressant, anti-
phlogistic, antirheumatic, antseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, bactericide, carminative, cholagogue, cicatrisant, cordial,
cytophylactic, decongestant, deodorant, and as a diuretic. This lavender is grown at a high pristine elevation over 3,500 feet,
creating a highly exotic and complex lavender oil. Mellowed by the long daylight hours in high latitude, moderate rainfall and sandy
soil, this lavender rivals the best of the world's great lavenders. Herbalist regards Lavender as the most useful and versatile
essential oil for therapeutic purposes. Lavender is the essential oil most commonly associated with burns and healing of the skin. It
also has antiseptic and analgesic properties that will ease the pain of a burn and prevent infection. It also has cytophylactic
properties that promote rapid healing and help reduce scarring. The scent of Lavender is said to have a calming effect on the body
and it can be used to reduce anxiety, stress and promote sleep.

Grapefruit Pink: Citrus racemosa

Description: The grapefruit tree was originally from Asia but it is now grown and harvested in the United States, France, Brazil
and Israel. The grapefruit tree itself is a large, shiny gloss-leaved tree, about 10 meters (30 feet) high, with white flowers and large,
pale yellow fruit with pink flesh.

Color: Pink to and orange-pink liquid.

Common Uses: Grapefruit Pink Essential Oil is believed by aromatherapists to be a spiritual up-lifter, and to ease muscle fatigue
and stiffness. It is also a purifier of congested, oily and acne prone skin and is sometimes added to creams and lotions as a natural
toner and cellulite treatment. Grapefruit Essential Oil is reputed to ease nervous exhaustion and relieve depression.

Tea Tree oil: Melaleuca alternifolia

Description: The Tea Tree is a small tree or shrub with needle-like leaves. It is also domestically referred to as Ti-tree. It can grow
up to 7 meters (20 feet) in height and thrives in marshy areas, though it is now cultivated in plantations. The Tea Tree is very
robust; it is ready for cutting only two years after its’ previous harvest. .

Common Uses: Tea Tree Essential Oil is best known as a very powerful immune stimulant. It can help to fight all three categories
of infectious organisms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses), and there is evidence that Tea Tree Oil massages prior to an operation may
help to fortify the body and reduce post-operative shock. Used in vapor therapy, Tea Tree Oil can help with colds, measles,
sinusitis and viral infections. For skin and hair, Tea Tree has been used to combat acne, oily skin, head lice and dandruff.

Japanese Peppermint Oil: Mentha arvensis

Description: There are several species of the mentha arvensis perennial herb that can grow to 3 feet in height, spreading due to
their underground 'runners'. Peppermint plant has hairy leaves with serrated edges and purple spiked flowers. Peppermint
Japanese is known for its high menthol content. It is so high in fact that menthol crystals sometimes form right on the leaves. .

Common Uses: Peppermint Japanese Essential Oil has long been credited as being useful in combating stomach ailments. It is
also viewed as an antispasmodic and antimicrobial agent. Of course, most people will associate it with being a flavoring or
scenting agent in foods, beverages, skin and hair care products (where it has a cooling effect by constricting capillaries and
helping with bruises and sore joints), as well as soaps and candles. This is largely due to its menthol content – typically 85%.

Ylang Ylang: Cananga Odorata

Origin: France

Description: Ylang-ylang Essential Oil is extracted from Cananga odorata – also known as flower of flowers. It is a tall tropical
tree about 20meters (60 feet) high with large, tender, fragrant pink, mauve or yellow flowers. The yellow heads are viewed as
being the best in terms of quality. There are several grades of Ylang-ylang essential oil which are extracted at different times
during the flower's lengthy distillation. These grades are referred to as extra, I, II, & III.

Common Uses: Ylang-ylang Essential Oil can assist with problems such as high blood pressure, rapid breathing and heartbeat,
nervous conditions, as well as impotence and frigidity. Spiritual practitioners claim that the users of Ylang-ylang are those who
have been drawn to the oil, and who in turn, suit it. Ylang-ylang Essential Oil is best suited for use in the perfumery and skincare
industries.

Coconut Fragrant oil

A delicious, sweet, creamy coconut. Buttery top notes with nuances of sweet burnt sugar, cinnamon and peach at the heart of the
fragrance. Base notes of coconut, vanilla and powder.

Mango fragrant oil

A sweet, tropical blend of delicious mango. Top notes of citrus, green, mango, pineapple, grapefruit and floral apple. the heart of
the fragrance is classic jasmine, lilac, plumeria and peach. Base note of powder, musk and coconut.

NataPres ™

All natural ingredient with effective preservative properties, based on the synergy exhibited by multiple plant
extracts.

INCI Name: leuconostoc-/radish root ferment filtrate, lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract,
laconicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) extract, populus tremuloides (aspen) bark extract, glucono-lactone.

Toxicology information: none of the product’s components are carcinogenic. No animal testing performed
on product.

Potassium Sorbate

Potassium salt of sorbic acid (natural fatty acid). In water potassium sorbate releases sorbic acid which is
the active agent. Widely used to as preservative in foods and cosmetics. Very effective preservative against
molds, yeast and bacteria.

Bioplex NMF Naturally Derived Active

Bioplex NMF (Mimics the skins natural moisturizing factor): Skin becomes dry for two reasons - prolonged exposure to the
elements, and due to physical and chemical changes to the skin as the result of aging. This can be avoided by either stopping the
loss of water from the skin, or by restoring lost moisture to the layers of the skin. The skin contains natural humectants, the most
important being NaPCA (sodium pyrrolidone carboxylic acid). As skin ages, it contains decreasing amounts to a percentage as low
as 50. Bioplex is made from an effective combination of moisturizers, proteins and humectants.
INCI: Sodium PCA & Lactic Acid & Sodium Lactate & Urea & Collagen Amino Acids.

Phytokeratin Naturally Derived Active

Phytokeratin is a vegetable derived keratin which is made by blending free amino acids derived from wheat, corn and soy. It
augments the free amino acids naturally present in the skin giving the skin a soft, healthy, moist appearance. In hair care
preparations, Phytokeratin enhances the hair moisture binding ability giving sparkle, shine and bounce. It is soluble in aqueous
solutions. This product is GMO Free.
INCI: Hydrolyzed Corn Protein & Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein & Hydrolyzed Soy Protein.

Rice Quat

Properties: The skin contains natural humectants, the most important being NaPCA (sodium pyrrolidone
carboxylic acid). As skin ages, it contains decreasing amounts to a percentage as low as 50. Sodium PCA is
responsible for binding moisture to the cells. It is highly water-absorbent, holding several time its weight in
water, which makes it an excellent humectant. It is also good for hair care as it reduces static electricity.
