Introduction

The Vanta PC Software (PCSW) runs on your PC. The PCSW is an intuitive way to
control the Vanta XRF analyzer, manage the collected data, set up a configuration, and
deploy a configuration from a single analyzer to a fleet of analyzers.

This guide describes how to use the PCSW. The buttons that appear in your PCSW
user interface (UI) depend on the methods that are calibrated on your Vanta.

In describing how to use the PCSW, this guide does not cover the Vanta functionality
documented in the Vanta Family X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer User Interface Guide.
Please refer to that document for instructions on how to use the Vanta UI.

6 Introduction
DMTA-10075-01EN, Rev. A, July 2016

1. User Interface Overview

This section describes the Vanta PC Software (PCSW) user interface (UI).

1.1 Connecting to the Vanta

To productively use the PC Software, use the Connection screen to make the PCSW
recognize a Vanta analyzer.

To connect to the Vanta

1. Using a USB cable, connect a Vanta analyzer to your PC (see the Vanta Family X-
Ray Fluorescence Analyzer User’s Manual for connection instructions.)

2. On your PC, click the Vanta Desktop App icon ( ) to display the
Connection screen (see Figure 1-1 on page 8).
3. Select a Vanta analyzer in the Connected Devices list.

1.2 Navigator and Fleet Manager

The Navigator and Fleet Manager each serve a specific purpose. The Navigator is
used for real-time operation of the Vanta. The Fleet Manager is used to configure the
Vanta UI and then export that configuration to one or more Vanta analyzers.

To switch between the Navigator and Fleet Manager

User Interface Overview 9

DMTA-10075-01EN, Rev. A, July 2016

1.2.1 Navigator
The PCSW Navigator is similar to Live View on the Vanta, but the PCSW utilizes the
increased screen area of the PC. The Navigator screen elements are arranged
differently than the Vanta Live View (see Figure 1-4 on page 10). Refer to the Vanta
Family X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer User Interface Guide for details on how to operate
the Vanta UI in Live View.
