Technology and Subsurface Data Management
The National Oil and Gas Industry is already ~ 100 years old variety and
volume of subsurface data continues to grow in rapid pace.
SKK Migas as a government body that monitors and supervise upstream oil
and gas activities needs to be able to analyze data at regional scale, basin-
based.
SKK Migas requires a system to manage and analyze relevant data quickly
and comprehensively to support their function, making the data work.
Today's technology makes it possible to do deep analytics on data that is
very diverse and massive.

WORKING AREA DOCUMENTS / FILES
a. Collaboration between SKK Migas and PSCs through SDMS system enables the potential
increase of reserves / production that has not been seen (unseen opportunities).
b. Comprehensive SDMS system that provides added value in the form of information that has been
analyzed, through further study in the form of collaboration between SKK Migas, PSCs, and
research and education institute, which is expected to reduce uncertainty (managing
uncertainties), because the main problem of decision-making related subsurface aspect is the
high uncertainties.
c. Utilization of SDMS by PSCs can lower the cost in purchasing and managing data.
d. Establish a Research and Development Working Group consisting of stakeholders in upstream oil
and gas sector.
e. Improve the attractiveness of new block offerings, development of exploration concepts and
technology selection through more regional studies.
