I.

Objectives: At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:

b. compose a song stanza regarding nationalism;
c. sing the composed stanza.

For a hundred years, development and
changes embraced our society. Now, the
question is, “For the past hundred years,

you’ve seen in the world of Music?

change in terms of music. Before, music
mostly was for entertainment but now music
is one of the most effective ways to express
your feelings.

Motivation

“Class, this time may I request all of you to


close your eyes. You are allowed to open

“Class, what have you observed while we

“Outstanding! The song that we sang is the


soundtrack of the cartoon movie “Tangled”.
This movie is an example of musical play in
television. Now my question is, What is a “Musical play is a popular and generally lighter
musical play?” form of musical drama than the opera”

“Great! You know class, even though musical


plays originated in USA and Western
countries like London, we also have musical
productions in our country and most of those “Yes sir”
were performed in the different countries all
over the world. Now, are you ready to learn

“Musical plays are associated in the


Broadway place in New York City. Broadway
is place where there are lots of theatre and
opera houses. In the Philippines, the musical
play is a more recent development than
Broadway and West End, relying mostly the
adaptations from novels, folk tales, myth and
legends.”
