1. Standard Competence:

Speaking

Asking for and giving someone to tell factual information.

2. Basic Competence:

Asking for and giving factual information.

3. Indicator:

a. The students explain the information orally by using good pronunciation.

b. The students explain the information orally by using good grammar.

c. The students explain the information orally by using good vocabulary.

d. The students explain the information orally by using good fluency.

e. The students explain the information orally by using good comprehension.

4. Learning Objective:

Upon competition of the learning activities, students are able to accurately as follow:

a. The students are able to explain the information or news by using VOA video that

given by researcher in good pronunciation.


b. The students are able to explain the information or news by using VOA video that

given by researcher in good grammar.

c. The students are able to explain the information or news by using VOA video that

given by researcher in good vocabulary.

d. The students are able to explain the information or news by using VOA video that

given by researcher in good fluency.

e. The students are able to explain the information or news by using VOA video that

given by researcher in good comprehension.

5. Summary of The Material :

VOA Learning English Video

 VOA Video Learning English is an international multimedia broadcaster that can be

used in the speaking learning process. Speakers who make presentations at VOA

use interesting and current topics so that the people as the audience are very

satisfied with the topic presented.

 The topics of the VOA video is Education Report

 The example of explanation about the information from VOA Video:

Hello ladies and gentlemen, today I am going to tell you about the
information that I get from VOA video. VOA video or we can call Voice of
America is one of the international multimedia broadcasters which has the
various report that can be used to learn English. From this video, I got a lot of
information about the teach English easily by using English Song. There are a lot
of title about the English Song from the expert in America that can be used to
teach English. Some expert considers a song like "Tom's Diner" by Suzane
Vega. American teaching English overseas once told us that students love that
song. Another person, Asi Tambunan, suggested the song "God Only Knows" by
Orianthi. Gyongyi Jako wrote that "ABBA's songs" from Sweden are perfect for
class work. Other good songs for learning English are songs by the Beatles and
John Lennon, as well as Louis Armstrongs "Wonderful World" Paul Sifuentes
says Bob's Marley Songs are amazing for teaching.

1. Pre Activities

 Greeting, praying, and check students’ attend 15 minutes

 Giving motivation to the students

 Informing the learning objective they should achieve.

2.  The lecturer gives an explanation about VOA learning

English video to the students. 65 minutes

 The lecturer gives brainstorming about example one of

the themes of VOA that is “technology” to make an

interest in the learning process.

 The lecturer explains how to learn by using the VOA

video.

 The lecturer shows one of interesting Video form VOA

“Education Report” and asks the students to watch and

listen to the video and understanding the content of the

video.

 After finished watch, the video, the lecturer gives time


to prepare about 10 minutes then asks them to perform

in front of the class to explain the information that they

get from VOA

 The lecturer gives some question to the students about

related to the VOA video.

 The students have to answer and explain the question

orally by using a good pronunciation, grammar,

vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.

 Other students practice again until understanding about

the material.

3. Post Activities

 Asking the students problem. 20 minutes

 Summarizing and evaluating what has been discussed.

 Asking the students to watch the VOA video on

youtube at home.

Fair 3 Often make grammatical mistakes that affect
meaning.
Poor 2 Many grammatical errors that hinder the
meaning and often rearrange sentences.
Failed 1 Grammar errors are so severe that the
listener difficult to understand.

3 Vocabulary

Excellent 5 Use vocabulary and phrases like native


speakers.
Good 4 Sometimes using incorrect vocabulary.
Fair 3 Often using inappropriate vocabulary,
conversations are limited due to limited
vocabulary.
Poor 2 Using vocabulary incorrectly and vocabulary
is limited so it's hard to understand.

not possible.

Excellent 5 Speech as fluent like a native speaker.

language limitations.
