Dua'a E Kumayl –

As Taught by Moula Ali (asws)

ORIGIN OF THE DU'A Kumayl Ibn Ziyad Nakha'i was a confidant amongst the companions of
Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (asws.) and this sublime Du'a was first heard from the beautiful, though
anguished, voice of Imam Ali.
According to Allama Majlisi Kumayl had attended an assembly in the Mosque at Basra which
was addressed by Moula Ali (asws) in the course of which the night of the 15th of Shaban was
mentioned. Moula Ali (asws) said-"Whosoever keeps awake in devoutness on this night and
recites the Du'a of Prophet Khizr, undoubtedly that person's supplication will be responded to
and granted. When the assembly at the Mosque had dispersed, Kumayl called at the house
where Moula Ali (asws) was staying, and requested him to acquaint him with Prophet Khizr's
"Du'a". Moula Ali (asws) asked Kumayl to sit down, record and memorise the "Du'a" which
Moula Ali (asws) dictated to Kumayl.
Moula Ali (asws) then advised Kumayl to recite this "Du'a" on the eve of every Friday, or once
a month or at least once in every year so that, added Moula Ali (asws), "Allah may protect thee
from the evils of the enemies and the plots contrived by impostors. O' Kumayl! in
consideration of thy companionship and understanding, I grant thee this honour of entrusting
this "Du'a" to thee."

In the Name of Allah, the All-
merciful, the All-compassionate
O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy,
which embraces all things;
And by Your strength, through
which You dominatest all things,
And toward which all things are
humble
And before which all things are
lowly;
And by Your invincibility through
which You overwhelmest all
things,
And by Your might, which nothing
can resist;
And by Your tremendousness,
which has filled all things;
by Your force, which towers over
all things;
And by Your face, which subsists
after the annihilation of all things,
And by Your Names, which have
filled the foundations of all things;
And by Your knowledge, which
encompasses all things;
And by the light of Your face,
through which all things are
illumined!
O Light! O All- holy!
O First of those who are first
And O Last of those who are last!
O Allah, forgive me those sins
which tear apart safeguards!
O Allah, forgive me those sins
which draw down adversities!
O Allah, forgive me those sins
which alter blessings!

O Allah forgive me those sins
which hold back supplication!
O Allah forgive me those sins
which cut down the hopes!
O Allah, forgive me those sins
which draw down tribulation!
O Allah, forgive me every sin I
have committed and every mistake
I have made!
O Allah, verily I seek nearness to
You through remembrance of You,
And I seek intercession from You
with Yourself,
And I ask You through Your
munificence to bring me near to
Your proximity,
And to provide me with gratitude
toward You
And to inspire me with Your
remembrance.
O Allah, verily I ask You with the
asking of a submissive, abased and
lowly man to show me forbearance,
to have mercy on me
And to make me satisfied and
content with Your appointment and
[make me] humble in every state.
O Allah, I ask You the question of
one whose indigence is extreme,
And who has stated to You in
difficulties his need
And whose desire for what is with
You has become great.
O Allah, Your force is tremendous,
Your place is lofty,
And Your deception is hidden,
Your command is manifest,
And Your domination is
overwhelming, Your power is
unhindered

َ‫َٗغَيَتَ قَْٖشُكَ َٗجَشَدْ قُذْسَرُل‬
And escape from Your governance
is impossible.
O Allah, I find no forgiver of my
sins,
Nor concealer of my ugly acts
Nor transformer of any of my ugly
acts into good acts but You
There is no god but You!
Glory be to You, and Thine is the
praise!
I have wronged myself,
And I have been audacious in my
ignorance
And I have depended upon Your
ancient remembrance of me and
Your favour toward me.
O Allah! O my Protector!
How many ugly things You hast
concealed!
How many burdensome tribulations
You hast abolished!
And how many stumbles You hast
prevented!
And how many ordeals You hast
repelled!
And how much beautiful praise, for
which I was unworthy, You hast
spread abroad!
O Allah, my tribulation is
tremendous,
And my bad state is excessive,
And my acts are inadequate,
And my fetters have tied me down,
And my far-fetched hopes have
held me back from my gain
And this world with its delusions,
my own soul with its offences and
my delay have deceived me.
O my Master! So I ask You by
Your might not to let my evil works
and acts veil my supplication from
You,
And not to disgrace me through the

‫ فَأَعْأىُلَ ثِؼِضَرِلَ أَُ ال‬ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫َب ع‬ٝ
ُ‫ عُ٘ء‬ِٜ‫َذْجُتَ ػَْْلَ دُػَبئ‬ٝ
ٜ‫ َٗفِؼَبِى‬ِٜ‫ػَََي‬
َ‫ِ ٍَب اؼَيَؼْذ‬ِٜ‫ ثِخَف‬َِْٜ‫َٗال رَفْعَذ‬
hidden things You knowest of my
secrets
tala`ta `ailayhi min sir-re ِٛ‫ِْٔ ٍِِْ عِش‬َٞ‫ػَي‬
And not to hasten me to
punishment for what I have done in
wa-la tu`ajil- ne bil- u'qubati `ala ma ‫ ٍَب‬َٚ‫ ثِبىْؼُقُ٘ثَخِ ػَي‬ِْْٜ‫َٗال رُؼَبجِي‬
private:
`amil- tuhu fe khalawate ِٜ‫ خَيََ٘ار‬ِٜ‫ػََِيْزُُٔ ف‬
My evil acts in secrecy and my
misdeeds
min suo- i fi`a- le wa isa-ate ،ِٜ‫ َٗئِعَبءَر‬ِٜ‫ٍِِْ عُ٘ءِ فِؼْي‬
And my continuous negligence and
my ignorance
wa dawami taf-rete wa jahalate ِٜ‫ َٗجََٖبىَز‬ِٜ‫ؽ‬ِٝ‫َٗدََٗاًِ رَفْش‬
And my manifold passions and my wa kath-rati sha- hawate wa ghaf-
forgetfulness. late ِٜ‫ َٗغَفْيَز‬ِٜ‫َٗمَثْشَحِ شَََٖ٘ار‬
And by Your might, O Allah, be wa kunil- lahumma bi- i'z-zatika le ِ‫ مُو‬ِٜ‫ ف‬ِٜ‫َٗمُِِ اىيٌََُٖ ثِؼِضَرِلَ ى‬
kind to me in all states fe kul- lil-ah-wali ra’ufa ً‫األَدَْ٘اِه سَؤُٗفب‬
And be gracious to me in all
affairs!
wa `alay-ya fe jamei'l- umure `atufa ً‫غِ األٍُُ٘سِ ػَؽُ٘فب‬ََِٞ‫ ج‬ِٜ‫َ ف‬َٜ‫َٗػَي‬
My God and my Lord! Have I any
ilahe wa rab-be mal- le ghayruka as- َ‫ْشُك‬َٞ‫ غ‬ِٜ‫ ٍَِ ى‬ِٜ‫ َٗسَث‬َِٜٖ‫ئِى‬
but You from whom to ask removal
of my affliction and regard for my
aluhu kash- fa zur-re wan-na¨ara fe ِٜ‫ َٗاىَْْظَشَ ف‬ِٛ‫أَعْأىُُٔ مَشْفَ ظُش‬
am-re!
affairs! !ِٛ‫أٍَْش‬
My God and my Protector! You put
into effect through me a decree in ilahe wa maw- laya aj-rayta `alay-ya ََٜ‫ْذَ ػَي‬َٝ‫ أَجْش‬ٛ‫ ٍََْٗ٘ال‬َِٜٖ‫ئِى‬
which I followed the caprice of my
own soul
huk- mant-taba`tu fehi hawa naf-se ،ِٜ‫ َّفْغ‬ََٕٙ٘ ِِٔٞ‫دُنَْبً ارَجَؼْذُ ف‬
And [I] did not remain wary of wa lam ah-taris fehi min tazyeni ِِْٞٝ‫ِٔ ٍِِ رَض‬ِٞ‫َٗىٌَْ أَدْزَشِطْ ف‬
adorning my enemy. `adu-we ،ُِٛٗ‫ػَذ‬
So he deluded me through my
soul's caprice and therein destiny
fa- ghar-rane bi- ma ah-wa wa as- َٚ‫ َٗأَعْؼَذَُٓ ػَي‬ََْٕٙ٘‫ ثََِب أ‬َِّٜ‫فَغَش‬
favoured him
`adahu `ala dha-likal-qaza ُ‫رَىِلَ اىقَعَبء‬
So, in what was put into effect
through me in that situation, I
fa-taja-waztu bi- ma jara `alay-ya ٍِِْ ََٜ‫ ػَي‬َٙ‫فَزَجَبَٗصْدُ ثََِب جَش‬
transgressed some of Your statutes
min dha- lika ba`za hududik َ‫رَىِلَ ثَؼْطَ دُذُٗدِك‬
And disobeyed some of Your
commands.
wa khalaf-tu ba`za awamirik َ‫َٗخَبىَفْذُ ثَؼْطَ أََٗاٍِشِك‬
So Thine is the argument against falakal- huj-jatu `alay-ya fe jamei'
me in all of that dhalik َ‫غِ رَىِل‬ََِٞ‫ ج‬ِٜ‫َ ف‬َٜ‫فَيَلَ اىْذُجَخُ ػَي‬
I have no argument in what Your
destiny put into effect through me
wa-la huj-jata le fema jara `alay-ya ََٜ‫ ػَي‬َٛ‫ََب جَش‬ِٞ‫ ف‬ِٜ‫َٗال دُجَخَ ى‬
therein
fehi qazauka ،َ‫ِٔ قَعَبؤُك‬ِٞ‫ف‬
nor in what Your decree and Your
tribulation imposed upon me.
wa alzamane huk- muka wa balauk َ‫ دُنَُْلَ َٗثَالؤُك‬ٍََِْٜ‫َٗأَىْض‬
Now I have come to You, My God,
after my shortcoming and my
wa qad ataytuka ya ilahe ba`da taq- َ‫ ثَؼْذ‬َِٜٖ‫َب ئِى‬ٝ َ‫ْزُل‬َٞ‫َٗقَذْ أَر‬
immoderation toward myself,
sere wa is-rafe `ala naf-se ِٜ‫ َّفْغ‬َٚ‫ ػَي‬ِٜ‫ َٗئِعْشَاف‬ِٛ‫ش‬ِٞ‫رَقْص‬
Proffering my excuse, regretful, mu`a-tadhiran-nadiman ،ً‫ٍُؼْزَزِساً َّبدٍِب‬
Broken, apologizing, mun-kasiram- mus-taqelama ً‫ال‬ِٞ‫ٍُْْنَغِشاً ٍُغْزَق‬

Asking forgiveness, repenting, mus-tagh-firam- muneban ،ً‫جب‬ٍُِْٞ ً‫ٍُغْزَغْفِشا‬
Acknowledging, submissive,
confessing.
muqir-ram- mudhi'nam- mu`a-tarifa ً‫ٍُقِشّاً ٍُزْػِْبً ٍُؼْزَشِفب‬
I find no place to flee from what la ajidu mafar-ram- mim- ma kana
occurred through me, min- ne ٍِِْٜ َُ‫ال أَجِذُ ٍَفَشّاً ٍََِب مَب‬
Nor any place of escape to which I wa-la mafza'an atawaj-jahu ilayhi ٜ‫ِْٔ ف‬َٞ‫َٗال ٍَفْضَػبً أَرََ٘جَُٔ ئِى‬
may turn in my affairs, fe am-re ِٛ‫أٍَْش‬
Other than Your acceptance of my ghayra qabulika u'dhre wa id- َ‫ َٗئِدخَبِىل‬،ِٛ‫ْشَ قَجُ٘ىِلَ ػُزْس‬َٞ‫غ‬
excuse and Your entering me into khalika e- yaya fe sa'tim- mir-rah-
the compass of Your mercy. matik َ‫ عَؼَخٍ ٍِِ سَدََْزِل‬ِٜ‫ ف‬ٛ‫َب‬ِٝ‫ئ‬
O Allah, so accept my excuse, allahumma faq-bal u'dhre ِٛ‫اىيٌََُٖ فَبقْجَو ػُزْس‬
Have mercy upon the severity of
my affliction
war-ham shid-data zure ِٛ‫َٗاسْدٌَْ شِذَحَ ظُش‬
And release me from the tightness
of my fetters,
wa fuk-kane min shad-di wathaqe ِٜ‫ ٍِِ شَذِ َٗثَبق‬َِْٜ‫َٗفُن‬
My Lord, have mercy upon the
weakness of my body, the thinness ya rab-bir-ham za`fa badane wa riq- َ‫ َٗسِقَخ‬َِّٜ‫َب سَةِ اسْدٌَْ ظَؼْفَ ثَذ‬ٝ
of my skin and the frailty of my
bones.
qata jil-de wa diq-qata `a¨me َِْٜ‫ َٗدِقَخَ ػَظ‬ِٛ‫جِيْذ‬
O You who gave rise to my
creation, to the remembrance of
me, to the nurture of me, to
ya mam bada khal-qe wa dhik-re
wa tar-bi- yate wa bire wa tagh-dhi-
ِٛ‫ َٗرِمْش‬ِٜ‫َب ٍَِْ ثَذَأَ خَيْق‬ٝ
goodness toward me and to yate ِٜ‫َز‬ِٝ‫ َٗرَغْز‬ِٛ‫ َٗثِش‬ِٜ‫َز‬ِٞ‫َٗرَشْث‬
nourishment on me,
Bestow upon me for the sake of
Your having given rise [to me] with hab-ne lb-tida- i karamika wa salifi ِ‫ الثْزِذَاءِ مَشٍَِلَ َٗعَبِىف‬ِْْٜ‫َٕج‬
generosity and Your previous bir-rika be ِٜ‫ثِشِكَ ث‬
goodness to me!
O Allah, my Master and my Lord! ya ilahe wa say- yide wa rab-be ِٜ‫ َٗسَث‬ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫ َٗع‬َِٜٖ‫َب ئِى‬ٝ
Canst You see Yourself tormenting
me with Your fire after I have
aturaka mu`adh-dhibe binarika َ‫ ثَِْبسِكَ ثَؼْذ‬ِٜ‫أَرُشَاكَ ٍُؼَزِث‬
professed Your Unity
ba`da taw-hedik َ‫ذِك‬ِٞ‫رَْ٘د‬
And after the knowledge of You wa ba`da man-tawa `ailayhi qal-be ٍِِ ِٜ‫ِْٔ قَيْج‬َٞ‫ ػَي‬ََٙ٘‫َٗثَؼْذَ ٍَب اّْؽ‬
my heart has embraced, mim- ma`rifatik َ‫ٍَؼْشِفَزِل‬
And the remembrance of You my
tongue has constantly mentioned
wa lahija bihi lisane min dhik-rik َ‫ ٍِِْ رِمْشِك‬ِّٜ‫َٗىَِٖجَ ثِِٔ ىِغَب‬
And the love of You to which my
mind has clung,
wa a`taqadahu ¨amere min hub-bik َ‫ ٍِِْ دُجِل‬ِٛ‫ش‬ََِٞ‫َٗاػْزَقَذَُٓ ظ‬
And after the sincerity of my
confession and my supplication,
wa ba`da sid-qi-`a-tirafe wa du`aa-e ِٜ‫ َٗدُػَبئ‬ِٜ‫َٗثَؼْذَ صِذْقِ اػْزِشَاف‬
humble before Your lordship?
khazi`aal- li- rubube-yatika َ‫َزِل‬ِٞ‫خَبظِؼبً ىِشُثُ٘ث‬
Far be it from You! You art more
generous than that You shouldst hayhata anta ak-ramu min an tuzay- َ‫ِغ‬َٞ‫َْٖبدَ أَّذَ أَمْشًَُ ٍِِْ أَُ رُع‬َٕٞ
squander him whom You hast
nurtured,
yi`a mar-rab-baytah َُٔ‫ْز‬َٞ‫ٍَِ سَث‬

Or banish him whom You hast
brought nigh,
aw tub- i'da man ad-naytah ُٔ َ‫ْز‬َّْٞ‫أَْٗ رُجْؼِذَ ٍَِْ أَد‬
Or drive away him whom You hast
given an abode
aw tushar-rida man a-aytah َُٔ‫ْز‬َٝٗ‫أَْٗ رُشَشِدَ ٍَِْ آ‬
Or submit to tribulation him whom aw tus-s- lima ilal-bala- i man kafay- َُٔ‫ْز‬َٞ‫َ اىْجالءِ ٍَِ مَف‬ٚ‫أَْٗ رُغْيٌَِ ئِى‬
You hast spared and shown mercy. tahu wa rahim-tah َُٔ‫َٗسَدَِْز‬
Would that I knew, my Master, My wa layta shi`a-re yay say-yide wa َِٜٖ‫ َٗئِى‬ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫َب ع‬ٝ ِٛ‫ْذَ شِؼْش‬َٞ‫َٗى‬
God and my Protector, ilahe wa maw- lay ٛ‫ٍََْٗ٘ال‬
Whether You wilt give the Fire
dominion over faces fallen down atusal- litun-nara `ala wujuhin khar- ْ‫ ُٗجٍُ٘ٓ خَشَد‬َٚ‫أَرُغَيِػُ اىَْبسَ ػَي‬
prostrate before Your
Tremendousness,
rat li-`a¨amatika sajidah ً‫ىِؼَظَََزِلَ عَبجِذَح‬
And over tongues voicing sincerely
the profession of Your Unity and
wa `ala al-sunin- nataqat bi-taw-
hedika sadiqataw-wa bishuk-rika
َ‫ذِك‬ِٞ‫ أَىْغٍُِ َّؽَقَذْ ثِزَْ٘د‬َٚ‫َٗػَي‬
giving thanks to You in praise, madihah ً‫صَبدِقَخً َٗثِشُنْشِكَ ٍَبدِدَخ‬
And over hearts acknowledging wa `ala qulubin-`a-tarafat bi- ilhe- َ‫َزِل‬َِٖٞ‫ قُيُ٘ةٍ اػْزَشَفَذْ ثِاِى‬َٚ‫َٗػَي‬
Your Divinity through verification, yatika muhaq-qiqah ً‫ٍُذَقِقَخ‬
And over minds encompassing
knowledge of You until they have
wa `ala zama- ira hawat minal- i'l- mi ٌِْ‫ ظَََبئِشَ دََ٘دْ ٍَِِ اىْؼِي‬َٚ‫َٗػَي‬
become humble
bika hat-ta sarat khashi`ah ً‫ صَبسَدْ خَبشِؼَخ‬َٚ‫ثِلَ دَز‬
And over bodily members speeding
wa `ala jawariha sa't ila aw-tani َٚ‫ جَ٘اِسحَ عَؼَذْ ئِى‬َٚ‫َٗػَي‬
to the places of Your worship in
obedience and beckoning for Your
ta'b-budika ta- i`ataw-wa asharat ْ‫أَْٗؼَبُِ رَؼَجُذِكَ ؼَبئِؼَخً َٗأَشَبسَد‬
bis-tigh- farika mudhi'nah
forgiveness in submission. ً‫ثِبعْزِغْفَبسِكَ ٍُزْػَِْخ‬
No such opinion is held of You!
Nor has such been reported - thanks
ma hkadha¨-¨an-nu bika wa- la ukh- ‫ٍَب َٕنَزَا اىظَُِ ثِلَ َٗال أُخْجِشَّْب‬
to Your bounty — concerning You,
bir-na bi- fazlika `anka َ‫ثِفَعْيِلَ ػَْل‬
O All-generous! My Lord, ya karemu ya rab ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ ،ٌُِٝ‫َب مَش‬ٝ
And You knowest my weakness
before a little of this world's
wa anta ta`lamu za`fe `an qalelim- ٍِِ ٍ‫و‬ِٞ‫ ػَِ قَي‬ِٜ‫َٗأَّذَ رَؼْيٌَُ ظَؼْف‬
tribulations and punishments,
min bala-id-dun-ya wa u'qubatiha ،‫َب َٗػُقُ٘ثَبرَِٖب‬ُّْٞ‫ثَالءِ اىذ‬
And before those ordeals which wa ma yaj-re feha minal- makarihi ِِٓ‫َٖب ٍَِِ اىََْنَبس‬ِٞ‫ ف‬ِٛ‫َجْش‬ٝ ‫ٍََٗب‬
befall its inhabitants, `ala ah- liha ‫ إَْٔيَِٖب‬َٚ‫ػَي‬
Even though it is a tribulation and `ala an-na dha-lika bala-uw-wa ،ٌُٓٗ‫ أََُ رَىِلَ ثَالءٌ ٍََٗنْش‬َٚ‫ػَي‬
ordeal whose stay is short, whose mak-ruhun, qalelum- mak-thuhu,
subsistence is but little and, whose yaserum baqa- uhu, qaserum- mud- ٌ‫ش‬ِٞ‫ قَص‬،ُُٓ‫شٌ ثَقَبؤ‬ِٞ‫َغ‬ٝ ،ُُٔ‫وٌ ٍَنْث‬ِٞ‫قَي‬
period is but fleeting. datuh ُُٔ‫ٍُذَر‬
So how can I endure the
tribulations of the next world and fa-kayfah-timale li-bala-il-akhirati ِ‫خِشَح‬ٟ‫ ىِجَالءِ ا‬ٜ‫ْفَ ادْزََِبِى‬َٞ‫فَن‬
the great ordeals that occur within
it?
wa jaleli wuqui'l- makarihi feha! !‫َٖب‬ِٞ‫وِ ُٗقُ٘عِ اىََْنَبسِِٓ ف‬ِٞ‫َٗجَي‬
For it is a tribulation whose period wa huwa bala-un tatulu mud-
is long, whose station endures and datuhu, wa yadumu maqamuhu, ًُُٗ‫َذ‬َٝٗ ،ُُٔ‫ََُٕٗ٘ ثَالءٌ رَؽُ٘هُ ٍُذَر‬

whose sufferers are given no
respite,
Since it only occurs as a result of
Your wrath, Your vengeance and
Your anger,
And these cannot be withstood by
the heavens and the earth.
O Master, so what about me?!
For I am Your weak, lowly, base,
wretched and miserable slave.
My God! My Lord! My Master!
My Protector!
For which things would I complain
to You?
And for which of them would I
lament and weep?
For the pain and severity of
chastisement?
Or for the length and period of
tribulation?
So if You takest me to the
punishments with Your enemies,
And gatherest me with the people
of Your tribulation
And separatest me from Your
friends and saints,
Then suppose, My God, my
Master, my Protector and my Lord
that I am able to endure Your
chastisement,
How can I endure separation from
You?
And suppose that I am able to
endure the heat of Your fire,
How can I endure not gazing upon
Your generosity?
Or how can I dwell in the Fire
while my hope is Your pardon?
So by Your might, my Master and
my protector, I swear sincerely, if

wa-la yukhaf- fafu `an ah-lih
li-an- nahu la yakunu il- la `an
ghazabika wan-tiqamika wa
sakhatik
wa hadha ma la taqumu lahus-
samawatu wal-arzu
ya say- yide fakayfa be
wa ana `abukaz- zae'efudh-dhalelul-
haqerul- mis-kenul- mus-taken
ya ilahe wa rab-be wa say-yide wa
maw- lay
li-ay- yil- umuri ilayka ash-ku
wa lima minha azij-ju wa ab-ke
li-alemil-`adhabi wa shid-datih
am litulil-bala- i wa mud-datih
fa- la- in say- yar-tane lil- u'qubati ma'
a`da-ik
wa jama`ta bayne wa bayna ahli
bala-ik
wa far-raq-ta bay- ne wa bay- na
ahib-ba-ika wa aw- li- ya- ik
fa- hab-ne ya ilahe wasay-yide wa
mawlaya wa rab-be sabar-tu `ala
`adhabika
fakayfa as-biru `ala firaqika
wa hab-ne sabar-tu `ala har-ri
narika
fakayfa as-biru `an-na¨ari ila
karamatik
am kayfa as-kunu fin- nari wa raja-e
`af-wuk
fabi- i'z-zatika ya say-yide wa
mawlaya uq-simu sadiqal- la- in

ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫ َٗع‬ِٜ‫ َٗسَث‬َِٜٖ‫َب ئِى‬ٝ
ٛ‫ٍََْٗ٘ال‬
ُ٘‫ْلَ أَشْن‬َٞ‫ِ األٍُُ٘سِ ئِى‬َٛ‫أل‬
ِٜ‫َٗىََِب ٍَِْْٖب أَظِجُ َٗأَثْن‬
!ِِٔ‫ٌِ اىْؼَزَاةِ َٗشِذَر‬ِٞ‫ألَى‬
!ِِٔ‫أًَْ ىِؽُ٘هِ اىْجَالءِ ٍَُٗذَر‬
َ‫ ىِيْؼُقُ٘ثَبدِ ٍَغ‬َِْٜ‫َشْر‬َٞ‫فَيَئِِ ص‬
َ‫أَػْذَائِل‬
َ‫َِْ إَْٔوِ ثَالئِل‬َٞ‫ َٗث‬َِْْٜٞ‫َٗجَََؼْذَ ث‬
َ‫َِْ أَدِجَبئِل‬َٞ‫ َٗث‬َِْْٜٞ‫َٗفَشَقْذَ ث‬
َ‫َبئِل‬ِٞ‫َٗأَْٗى‬
ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫ َٗع‬َِٜٖ‫َب ئِى‬ٝ ِْْٜ‫فََٖج‬
َٚ‫ صَجَشْدُ ػَي‬ِٜ‫ َٗسَث‬ٛ‫ٍََْٗ٘ال‬
،َ‫ػَزَاثِل‬
َ‫ فِشَاقِل‬َٚ‫ْفَ أَصْجِشُ ػَي‬َٞ‫فَن‬
،َ‫ دَشِ َّبسِك‬َٚ‫ صَجَشْدُ ػَي‬ِْْٜ‫ََٕٗج‬
َٚ‫ْفَ أَصْجِشُ ػَِِ اىَْظَشِ ئِى‬َٞ‫فَن‬
َ‫مَشَاٍَزِل‬
ِ‫ اىَْبس‬ِٜ‫ْفَ أَعْنُُِ ف‬َٞ‫أًَْ م‬
َ‫ ػَفُْ٘ك‬ِٜ‫َٗسَجَبئ‬
ٛ‫ ٍََْٗ٘ال‬ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫َب ع‬ٝ َ‫فَجِؼِضَرِل‬
You leavest me with speech,
I will lament to You from the midst
of the Fire's inhabitants with
lamentation of the hopeful;
I will cry to You with the cry of
those crying for help;
I will weep to You with the
weeping of the bereft;
And I will call to You, Where art
You, O Sponsor of the believers,
O Goal of the hopes of Your
knowers,
ya ghayata a- malil-`arifen
O Aid of those who seek assistance, ya ghiyathal- mus-taghethen
O Friend of the hearts of the sincere
And O God of all the world's
inhabitants!
Canst You see Yourself — Glory
be to You My God, and Thine is
the praised — hearing within the
Fire the voice of a slave
surrendered to You,
Imprisoned there because of his
violations,
Tasting the favour of its torment
because of his disobedience,
And confined within its levels
because of his sin and crime,
While he laments to You with the
lament of one hopeful for Your
mercy,
And calls to You with the tongue of
those who profess Your Unity
And entreats You by Your
lordship!
My Protector, so how should he
remain in the chastisement, while
he has hope for Your previous
clemency?
Or how should the Fire cause him
pain while he expects Your bounty
and mercy?

tarak-tane natiqan
lazij-jan- na ilayka bayna ah- liha
zajejal-amilen
wa lasrukhan-na ilayka surakhal-
mus-tas-rikhen
wa-la-ab-ki-yan- na `ailayka buka-
al-faqiden
wa la- unadi-yan-naka ay- na kun-ta
ya wale- yal- mu- minen
ya habeba qulubis-sadiqen
wa ya ilhal-`alamen
afaturaka sub-hanaka ya ilahe wa
biham-dika tas-mau' feha saw-ta
`ab-dim- mus-limin
sujina feha bi- mukhalafatih
wa dhaqa ta`ma `adhabiha bi- ma`si-
yatih
wa hubisa bayna at-baqiha bijur-
mih wa jareratih
wa huwa yazij-ju ilayka zajeja
muammilil- lirah- mat-k
wa yunadeka bi- lisani ahli taw-
hedik
wa yatawas-salu ilayka bi- rubube-
yatik
ya mawlay fa-kayfa yabqa fel-
`adhabi wa huwa yar-ju ma salafa
min hil- mik
am kayfa tu-limuhun- naru wa huwa
ya- malu fazlaka wa rah- mataka

َِِٞ‫َخَ آٍَبِه اىؼَبسِف‬ٝ‫َب غَب‬ٝ
َِِٞ‫ث‬ِٞ‫َبسَ اىَُغْزَغ‬ِٞ‫َب غ‬ٝ
َِِٞ‫تَ قُيُ٘ةِ اىصَبدِق‬ِٞ‫َب دَج‬ٝ
َََِِٞ‫َب ئِىََٔ اىؼَبى‬َٝٗ
َِٜٖ‫َب ئِى‬ٝ َ‫ عُجْذَبَّل‬،َ‫أَفَزُشَاك‬
َ‫َٖب صَْ٘د‬ِٞ‫ رَغََْغُ ف‬،َ‫َٗثِذََْذِك‬
ٌٍِ‫ػَجْذٍ ٍُغْي‬
ِِٔ‫َٖب ثَُِخَبىَفَز‬ِٞ‫عُجَِِ ف‬
ِِٔ‫َز‬ِٞ‫َٗرَاقَ ؼَؼٌَْ ػَزَاثَِٖب ثََِؼْص‬
ٍِِْٔ‫َِْ أَؼْجَبقَِٖب ثِجُش‬َٞ‫َٗدُجِظَ ث‬
ِِٔ‫شَر‬ِٝ‫َٗجَش‬
ٍ‫جَ ٍُإٍَِو‬ِٞ‫ْلَ ظَج‬َٞ‫َعِجُ ئى‬ٝ ََُٕ٘ٗ
َ‫ىِشَدََْزِل‬
َ‫ذِك‬ِٞ‫لَ ثِيِغَبُِ إَْٔوِ رَْ٘د‬ِٝ‫َُْبد‬َٝٗ
َ‫َزِل‬ِٞ‫ْلَ ثِشُثُ٘ث‬َٞ‫َزََ٘عَوُ ئى‬َٝٗ
ِٜ‫ ف‬َٚ‫َجق‬ٝ َ‫ْف‬َٞ‫ فَن‬ٛ‫َب ٍَْ٘ال‬ٝ
َ‫َشْجُ٘ ٍَب عَيَف‬ٝ ََُٕ٘ٗ ِ‫اىْؼَزَاة‬
َ‫ٍِِْ دِيَِْل‬
ُ‫َبٍَو‬ٝ ََُٕ٘ٗ ُ‫ْفَ رُإْىَُُِٔ اىَْبس‬َٞ‫أًَْ م‬
َ‫فَعْيَلَ َٗسَدََْزَل‬
Or how should its flames burn him,
while You hearest his voice and
am kayfa yuh-riquhu lahebuha wa
anta tas- mau' saw-tahu wa tara
َ‫جَُٖب َٗأَّذ‬َِٖٞ‫ُذْشِقُُٔ ى‬ٝ َ‫ْف‬َٞ‫أًَْ م‬
seest his place? makanah َُّٔ‫ ٍَنَب‬َٙ‫رَغََْغُ صَْ٘رَُٔ َٗرَش‬
Or how should its groaning
am kayfa yash-tamilu `ailayhi ‫شَُٕب‬ِٞ‫ِْٔ صَف‬َٞ‫َشْزََِوُ ػَي‬ٝ َ‫ْف‬َٞ‫أًَْ م‬
encompass him, while You
knowest his weakness?
zaferuha wa anta ta`lamu za`fah َُٔ‫َٗأَّذَ رَؼْيٌَُ ظَؼْف‬
Or how should he be convulsed
among its levels, while You
am kayfa yataqalqalu bayna at- ‫َِْ أَؼْجَبقَِٖب‬َٞ‫َزَقَيْقَوُ ث‬ٝ َ‫ْف‬َٞ‫أًَْ م‬
knowest his sincerity?
baqiha wa anta ta`lamu sid-qah َُٔ‫َٗأَّذَ رَؼْيٌَُ صِذْق‬
Or how should its keepers torture
him while he calls out to You, O
am kayfa tazjuruhu zabani- yatuha ََُٕ٘ٗ ‫َزَُٖب‬ِّٞ‫ْفَ رَضْجُشُُٓ صَثَب‬َٞ‫أًَْ م‬
Lord?
wa huwa yunadeka ya rab-bah َُٔ‫َب سَث‬ٝ َ‫ل‬ِٝ‫َُْبد‬ٝ
Or how should he have hope of
Your bounty in freeing him from it, am kayfa yar-ju fazlaka fe i't-qihi ِِٔ‫ ػِزْق‬ِٜ‫َشْجُ٘ فَعْيَلَ ف‬ٝ َ‫ْف‬َٞ‫أًَْ م‬
while You abandonest him within
it?
minha fatat-rukuhu feha ‫َٖب‬ِٞ‫ٍَِْْٖب فَزَزْشُمُُٔ ف‬
Far be it from You! That is not
what is expected of You,
hayhat ma dhalika¨-¨an- nu bik َ‫َٖبدَ ٍَب رَىِلَ اىظَُِ ثِل‬َٕٞ
Nor what is well-known of Your
bounty,
wa-lal- ma`rufu min fazlik َ ِ‫َٗال اىََْؼْشُٗفُ ٍِِ فَعْي‬
‫ل‬
Nor it is similar to the goodness
and kindness You hast shown to
wa-la mush-biha lima `amal-ta
bihil- muah- hidena mim bir-rika wa
ِِٔ‫َٗال ٍُشْجٌِٔ ىََِب ػَبٍَيْذَ ث‬
those who profess Your Unity. ih-sanik َ‫َِ ٍِِْ ثِشِكَ َٗئِدْغَبِّل‬ِٝ‫اىََُْ٘دِذ‬
So I declare with certainty that
were it not for what You hast fa-bial- yaqeni aq-tau' law- la ma َ‫ِِ أَقْؽَغُ ىَْ٘ال ٍَب دَنََْذ‬ِٞ‫َق‬ْٞ‫فَجِبى‬
decreed concerning the
chastisement of Your deniers
hakam-ta bihi min ta`dhebi jahidek َ‫ل‬ِٝ‫تِ جَبدِذ‬ِٝ‫ثِِٔ ٍِِ رَؼْز‬
And what You hast foreordained
wa qazayta bihi min ikh- laydi
concerning the everlasting home of
mu`anidek َ‫ل‬ِٝ‫ْذَ ثِِٔ ٍِِْ ئِخْالَدِ ٍُؼَبِّذ‬َٞ‫َٗقَع‬
those who stubbornly resist,
You wouldst make the Fire, all of laja'l-tan- nara kul- laha bar-daw-wa ً‫ىَجَؼَيْذَ اىَْبسَ مُيََٖب ثَشْدا‬
it, coolness and safety, salama ،ً‫َٗعَالٍَب‬
And no one would have a place of wa ma kana li-ahadin feha maqar- ‫َٖب ٍَقَشّاً َٗال‬ِٞ‫ٍََٗب مَبَُ ألَدَذٍ ف‬
rest or abode within it. raw-wa- la muqama ً‫ٍُقَبٍب‬
But You—holy are Your Names—
hast sworn that You wilt fill it with
lakin-naka taqad-dasat as- ma-uka
aq-sam-ta an tam- laha minal-
َ‫ىَنَِْلَ رَقَذَعَذْ أَعََْبؤُكَ أَقْغََْذ‬
the unbelievers, kafirena; ،َِِٝ‫أَُْ رََْألََٕب ٍَِِ اىْنَبفِش‬
Both Jinn and men together, minal-jin- nati wan-nasi aj- m`aen َِِٞ‫ٍَِِ اىْجَِْخِ َٗاىَْبطِ أَجََْؼ‬
And that You wilt place those who
stubbornly resist therein forever.
wa-an tukhal- lida fehal- mu`aniden َِِٝ‫َٖب اىَُْؼَبِّذ‬ِٞ‫َٗأَُ رُخَيِذَ ف‬
And You— majestic is Your
eulogy— said at the beginning and
wa anta jal- la thana-uka qul- ta ،ً‫َٗأَّذَ جَوَ ثََْبؤُكَ قُيْذَ ٍُجْزَذَئب‬
mub-tadiwaw-wa tataw-wal-ta bil-
wernt gracious through kindness as
a favour,
in-`ami mutakar-rima :ً‫َٗرَؽََ٘ىْذَ ثِبإلِّْؼَبًِ ٍُزَنَشٍِب‬
(What? Is he who has been believer afaman kana muminan kaman kana
like unto him who has been fasiqal- la yas-tawun

ungodly? They are not equal)
My God and my Master! So I ask
ilahe wa say-yide fa-as-aluka bial- ِ‫ فَأَعْأىُلَ ثِبىْقُذْسَح‬ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫ َٗع‬َِٜٖ‫ئِى‬
You by the power You hast
apportioned
qud-ratil- late qad-dartaha ‫ قَذَسْرََٖب‬ِٜ‫اىَز‬
And by the decision which You
hast determined and imposed and wa bil-qaze- yatil- late hatam-taha ‫ دَزََْزََٖب‬ِٜ‫َخِ اىَز‬ِٞ‫َٗثِبىْقَع‬
through which You hast overcome wa hakam-taha wa ghalab-ta man َِْٔٞ‫َٗدَنََْزََٖب َٗغَيَجْذَ ٍَِْ ػَي‬
him toward whom it has been put `ailayhi aj-raytaha
into effect, ‫ْزََٖب‬َٝ‫أَجْش‬
That You forgivest me in this night an tahaba le fe hadhihil- laylati wa ،ِ‫ْيَخ‬َٞ‫ ٕزِِٓ اىي‬ِٜ‫ ف‬،ِٜ‫أَُ رََٖتَ ى‬
and at this hour fe hadhihes-sa'ah ِ‫ َٕزِِٓ اىغَبػَخ‬ِٜ‫َٗف‬
Every offence I have committed, kul- la jur- min aj-ram-tuh ُُٔ‫مُوَ جُشًٍْ أَجْشٍَْز‬
And every sin I have performed, wa kul- la dham-bin adhnab-tuh ُُٔ‫َٗمُوَ رَّْتٍ أَرَّْجْز‬
And every ugly thing I have
concealed
wa kul- la qabehin as-rar-tuh ُُٔ‫خٍ أَعْشَسْر‬ِٞ‫َٗمُوَ قَج‬
And every folly I have enacted wa kul- la jah-lin `amil-tuhu, ،ُُٔ‫َٗمُوَ جَْٖوٍ ػََِيْز‬
Whether I have hidden or
announced it,
katam-tuhuo aw a`lan-tuhu, ،ُُٔ‫مَزََْزُُٔ أَْٗ أَػْيَْز‬
Or I have concealed it or
manifested it
akhfaytuhuo aw a¨har-tuh ُُٔ‫ْزُُٔ أَْٗ أَظَْٖشْر‬َٞ‫أَخف‬
And every evil act which You hast
commanded the Noble Writers to
wa kul- la say- yi-atin amarta bi- ith- ‫ِئَخٍ أٍََشْدَ ثِاِثْجَبرَِٖب‬َٞ‫َٗمُوَ ع‬
record,
batihayal-kiramal-katiben َِِٞ‫اىْنِشَاًَ اىنَبرِج‬
Those whom You hast appointed to al-ladhena wak-kal-tahum bi-hif- ¨i ُُُ٘‫َن‬ٝ ‫َِ َٗمَيْزٌَُٖ ثِذِفْظِ ٍَب‬ِٝ‫اىَز‬
watch over what appears from me ma yakunu min- ne ٍِِْٜ
And whom You hast made, along
with my bodily members, witness
wa ja'l-tahum shuhudan `alay- ya َ‫َ ٍَغ‬َٜ‫َٗجَؼَيْزٌَُْٖ شُُٖ٘داً ػَي‬
against me.
ma' jawarihe ،ِٜ‫جََ٘اسِد‬
And You wast Yourself the
Watcher over me from behind
wa kunta antar-raqeba `alay- ya ٍِِ ََٜ‫تَ ػَي‬ِٞ‫َٗمُْذَ أَّذَ اىشَق‬
them,
miw-wara- ihim ،ٌِِْٖ‫َٗسَائ‬
And the Witness of what is hidden
from them
wash-shahida lima khafiya `an-hum ،ٌَُْْْٖ‫ ػ‬ِٜ‫َٗاىشَبِٕذَ ىََِب خَف‬
But through Your mercy You
concealed it
wa bi-rah- matika akh- faytahu ،َُٔ‫ْز‬َٞ‫َٗثِشَدََْزِلَ أَخْف‬
And through Your bounty You
veiled it.
wa bifazlika satar-tah َُٔ‫َٗثفَعْيِلَ عَزَشْر‬
[And I ask You] that You
bestowest upon me an abundant wa an tuwf- fira ha¨-¨e min kul- li ٍ‫ْش‬َٞ‫ ٍِِ مُوِ خ‬ِٜ‫َٗأَُ رَُ٘فِشَ دَظ‬
share of every good You sendest
down,
khayrin tunziluh ،ُُٔ‫رُْْضِى‬
Or kindness You conferrest, aw ih-sanin tuf-ziluh ُُٔ‫أَْٗ ئِدْغَبٍُ رُفْعِي‬
Or goodness You unfoldest, aw bir-rin tan-shiruhu ،ُُٓ‫أَْٗ ثِشٍ رَْْشِش‬

Or provision You spreadest out, aw rizqin tab-sutuh ُُٔ‫أَْٗ سِصْقٍ رَجْغُؽ‬
Or sin You forgivest, aw dham-bin tagh-firuyhu ُُٓ‫أَْٗ رَّْتٍ رَغْفِش‬
Or error You coverest. aw khatain tas-turuhu ُُٓ‫أَْٗ خَؽَأٍ رَغْزُش‬
My Lord! My Lord! My Lord! ya rab-bi ya rab-bi ya rabb ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ
My God! My Master! My ya ilahe wa say- yide wa maw- laya ٛ‫ ٍََْٗ٘ال‬ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫ َٗع‬َِٜٖ‫َب ئِى‬ٝ
Protector! Owner of my bondage! wa malika riq-qe ِٜ‫ٍََٗبِىلَ سِق‬
O He in whose hand is my
forelock!
ya mam bi- yadihi nasi- yate ِٜ‫َز‬ِٞ‫َذِِٓ َّبص‬ِٞ‫َب ٍَِْ ث‬ٝ
O He who knows my affliction and
my misery!
ya `alemam bizure wa mas-kanate ِٜ‫ ٍََٗغْنََْز‬ِٛ‫َبً ثِعُش‬ِٞ‫َب ػَي‬ٝ
O He who is aware of my poverty
and indigence!
ya khaberam bi- faq-re wa faqate ِٜ‫ َٗفَبقَز‬ِٛ‫شاً ثِفَقْش‬ِٞ‫َب خَج‬ٝ
My Lord! My Lord! My Lord! ya rab-bi ya ya rab-bi ya rabb ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ
I ask You by Your Truth and Your
Holiness
as-aluka bi- haq-qika wa qud-sik َ‫أَعْأىُلَ ثِذَقِلَ َٗقُذْعِل‬
And the greatest of Your Attributes
and Names,
wa a`¨ami sifatika wa as-ma- ika َ‫َٗأَػْظٌَِ صِفَبرِلَ َٗأَعََْبئِل‬
That You makest my times in the
night and the day inhabited by Your
an taj-`ala aw-qate fil- layli wan- ِ‫و‬َٞ‫ اىي‬ِٜ‫ ف‬ِٜ‫أُ رَجْؼَوَ أَْٗقَبر‬
remembrance,
nahari bi-dhik-rika ma`murah ،ً‫َٗاىََْٖبسِ ثِزِمْشِكَ ٍَؼَُْ٘سَح‬
And joined to Your service wa bikhid-matika maw-sulah ،ً‫َٗثِخِذٍَْزِلَ ٍَْ٘صُ٘ىَخ‬
And my works acceptable to You, wa a`male i'ndaka maq-bulah ،ً‫ ػِْْذَكَ ٍَقْجُ٘ىَخ‬ٜ‫َٗأَػََْبِى‬
So that my works and my litanies hat-ta takuna a`male wa aw-rade ِٛ‫ َٗأَْٗسَاد‬ٜ‫ رَنَُُ٘ أَػََْبِى‬َٚ‫دَز‬
may all be a single litany kul- luha wir-daw-wahidan ،ً‫مُيَُٖب ِٗسْداً َٗادِذا‬
And my occupation with Your
service everlasting.
wa hale fe khid- matika sar- mada ً‫ خِذٍَْزِلَ عَشٍَْذا‬ِٜ‫ ف‬ٜ‫َٗدَبِى‬
My Master! O He upon whom I ya say- yide ya man `ailayhi mu`aw-
depend! wale ِٜ‫ِْٔ ٍُؼََ٘ى‬َٞ‫َب ٍَِْ ػَي‬ٝ ،ِٛ‫ِذ‬َٞ‫َب ع‬ٝ
O He to whom I complain about
my states!
ya man ilayhi shakaw-tu ah-wale ٜ‫ِْٔ شَنَْ٘دُ أَدَْ٘اِى‬َٞ‫َب ٍَِْ ئى‬ٝ
My Lord! My Lord! My Lord! ya rab-bi ya rab-bi ya rabb ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ ِ‫َب سَة‬ٝ
Strengthen my bodily members in
Your service,
qaw-wi `ala khid- matika jawarihe ِٜ‫ خِذٍَْزِلَ جََ٘اسِد‬َٚ‫قَِ٘ ػَي‬
And fortify my ribs in
determination
wash-dud `alal-`azemati jawanihe ِٜ‫ََخِ جََ٘اِّذ‬ِٝ‫َ اىْؼَض‬ٚ‫َٗاشْذُدْ ػَي‬
And bestow upon me earnestness in
my fear of You
wa hab liyal-jid-da fe khash-yatik َ‫َزِل‬ْٞ‫ خَش‬ِٜ‫ اىْجِذَ ف‬ِٜ‫ََٕٗتْ ى‬
And continuity in my being joined wad-dawama fil-at- itisali bikhid-
to Your service matik َ‫ اإلرِصَبِه ثِخِذٍَْزِل‬ِٜ‫َٗاىذََٗاًَ ف‬
So that I may move easily toward
You in the battlefields of the
hat-ta as-raha ilayka fe maya-denis- ِِِٝ‫َبد‬ٍَٞ ِٜ‫لَ ف‬َٞ‫ أَعْشَحَ ئِى‬َٚ‫دَز‬
foremost
sabiqen َِِٞ‫اىغَبثِق‬

And hurry to You among the
prominent
wa us-ri`a ilayka fil- mubadiren َِِٝ‫ اىَْجُبدِس‬ِٜ‫ْلَ ف‬َٞ‫َٗأُعْشِعَ ئى‬
And desire fervently Your
proximity among the fervently
wa ash-taqa ila qur-bika fil- mush- ِٜ‫َ قُشْثِلَ ف‬ٚ‫َٗأَشْزَبقَ ئى‬
desirous
taqen َِِٞ‫اىَُْشْزَبق‬
And move nearer to You with the wa ad-nua minka dunu-wal- mukh-
nearness of the sincere lisen َِِٞ‫َٗأَدَُّْ٘ ٍِْْلَ دَُُّ٘ اىَُْخْيِص‬
And fear You with the fear of those
who have certitude
wa akhafaka makhafatal- muqinen َِِِْٞ‫َٗأَخَبفَلَ ٍَخَبفَخَ اىَُْ٘ق‬
And gather with the believers in wa aj-tami`a fe jiwarika ma'l- mu- َ‫ جَِ٘اسِكَ ٍَغ‬ِٜ‫َٗأَجْزََِغَ ف‬
Your vicinity. mnen ٍَِِْْٞ‫اىَُْإ‬
O Allah, whoever desires evil for allahumma wa man aradane bisuo-
me, desire [it] for him! in farid-hu ُْٓ‫ ثِغٍُ٘ء فَأَسِد‬َِّٜ‫اىيٌََُٖ ٍََِْٗ أَسَاد‬
whoever deceives me-deceive him! wa man kadane fakid- hu ُْٓ‫ فَنِذ‬َِّٜ‫ٍََِٗ مَبد‬
And make me one of the most
excellent of Your slaves in Portion
waj-`alne min ahasani `abedika َ‫ذِك‬ِٞ‫ ٍِِْ أَدَغَِِ ػَج‬ِْْٜ‫َٗاجْؼَي‬
from You,
naseban i'ndaka َ‫جبً ػِْْذَك‬ِٞ‫َّص‬
And the nearest of them in station
to You
wa aq-rabihim- manzilatam- mink َ‫َٗأَقْشَثٌِِٖ ٍَْْضِىَخً ٍِْْل‬
And the most elected of them in
proximity to You.
wa akhas-sihim zul- fatal- ladayk َ‫ْل‬ٝ‫َٗأَخَصٌِِْٖ صُىْفَخً ىَذ‬
For that cannot be attained except fa- in- nahu la yunalu dha- lika il- la
by Your bounty. bi- fazlik َ‫ل ئِالَ ثِفَعْيِل‬
َ ِ‫َُْبهُ رَى‬ٝ ‫فَأَُِّ ال‬
And grant generously to me
through Your munificence,
wa jud le bijudik َ‫ ثِجُ٘دِك‬ِٜ‫َٗجُذْ ى‬
And incline toward me with Your
splendour
w`a-tif `alay-ya bi- maj-dik َ‫َ ثََِجْذِك‬َٜ‫َٗاػْؽِفْ ػَي‬
And protect me with Your mercy! wah-fa¨ne birah- matik َ‫ ثِشَدََْزِل‬ِْْٜ‫َٗادْفَظ‬
And make my tongue remember
You without ceasing
waj-`al- lisane bidhik-rika lahija ً‫ ثِزِمْشِكَ ىَِٖجب‬ِّٜ‫َٗاجْؼَو ىِغَب‬
And my heart enthralled by Your
love!
wa qal-be bi-hub-bika mutay- yama ً‫ََب‬َٞ‫ ثِذُجِلَ ٍُز‬ِٜ‫َٗقَيْج‬
And be gracious to me by wa mun-na `alay-ya bihus-ni
answering me favourably, ijabatik َ‫َ ثِذُغِِْ ئِجَبثَزِل‬َٜ‫ٍََُِٗ ػَي‬
And nullify my slips wa aqil- ne `ath-rate ِٜ‫ ػَثْشَر‬ِْْٜ‫َٗأَقِي‬
And forgive my lapses! wagh-fir zal- late ِٜ‫َٗاغْفِشْ صَىَز‬
For You hast decreed Your worship fa- in- naka qazayta `ala i'badika bi- َ‫ ػِجَبدِك‬َٚ‫ْذَ ػَي‬َٞ‫فَاَِّلَ قَع‬
for Your servants i'badatik َ‫ثِؼِجَبدَرِل‬
And commanded them to supplicate
You
wa amar-tahum bidu`aa- ika َ‫َٗأٍََشْرٌَُٖ ثِذُػَبئِل‬
And assured them that they would
be answered.
wa zaminta lahumul- ijabah َ‫َٗظََِْذَ ىٌَُُٖ اإلِجَبثَخ‬
So toward You, my Lord, I have
turned my face
fa- ilayka ya rab-bi nasab-tu waj-he ِْٜٖ‫َب سَةِ َّصَجْذُ َٗج‬ٝ َ‫ْل‬َٞ‫فَاِى‬

Spreading the true religion of Allah, Wilayat e Ali (asws)
And toward You, my Lord, I have
extended my hand.
So by Your might, comply with my
supplication
And make me attain my desires!
Do not severe my hoping for Your
Favours
And spare me the evil of my
enemies from among the jinn and
men!
O He, whose pleasure is quickly
achieved!
Forgive him who owns nothing but
supplication
For You dost what You wilt.
O He whose Name is a remedy,
And whose remembrance is a cure,
And whose obedience is wealth!
Have mercy upon him whose
capital is hope
And whose weapon is tears!
O Ample in blessings!
O Repeller of adversities!
O Light of those who are lonely in
the darkness!
O Knower who was never taught!
Bless Muhammad and
Muhammad's household!
And do with me what is worthy of
You!
And Allah bless His messenger and
the holy Imams of his household
And give them abundant peace!

fa-bi- i'z-zatikas-tajib le du`aa-e
wa bal- ligh- ne munay
wa-la taq-ta' min fazlika raja-e
wak-fine shar-ral-jin-ni wal- in-si
min a`da-e
ya sari- y`ar-riza
igh- fir liman- la yam- liku il- lad-
du`aa
fa- in- naka fa`alul- lima tasha
ya manis- muhu dawa-un
wa dhik-ruhu shifa-un
wa ta'tuhu ghinan
ir-ham- mar-ra-su malihir-raja
wa silahuhul-buka-u
ya sabighan-ni`am
ya dafi`an- niqam
ya nural- mus-taw- hishena fi¨-
¨ulami
ya `alimal- la yu`al- lam
sal- li `ala muhammad wa a- li
muhammadin
waf-`al be ma anta ah-luh
wa sal- lallahu `ala rasulihi wal-
aimmatil- mayamena min a-lihi
wa sal- lama tas-leman kathera

ِٜ‫ دُػَبئ‬ِٜ‫فَجِؼِضَرِلَ اعْزَجِتْ ى‬
ٛ‫ ٍَُْب‬ِْْٜ‫َٗثَيِغ‬
ِٜ‫َٗال رَقْؽَغْ ٍِِ فَعْيِلَ سَجَبئ‬
ٍِِْ ِ‫ شَشَ اىْجِِِ َٗاإلِّْظ‬ِِْٜ‫َٗامْف‬
ِٜ‫أَػْذَائ‬
‫غَ اىشِظَب‬ِٝ‫َب عَش‬ٝ
َ‫ََْيِلُ ئِالَ اىذُػَبء‬ٝ ‫اغْفِشْ ىََِِ ال‬
ُ‫فَاَِّلَ فَؼَبهٌ ىََِب رَشَبء‬
ٌ‫َب ٍَِْ اعَُُْٔ دََٗاء‬ٝ
ٌ‫َٗرِمْشُُٓ شِفَبء‬
ًِْٚ‫َٗؼَبػَزُُٔ غ‬
ُ‫اسْدٌَ ٍَِ سَأْطُ ٍَبِىِٔ اىشَجَبء‬
ُ‫َٗعِالَدُُٔ اىْجُنَبء‬
ٌَِ‫َب عَبِثغَ اىِْؼ‬ٝ
ٌَِ‫َب دَافِغَ اىِْق‬ٝ
ٌَِ‫ اىظُي‬ِٜ‫َِ ف‬ِٞ‫َب ُّ٘سَ اىَُْغْزَْ٘دِش‬ٝ
ٌَُ‫ُؼَي‬ٝ ‫َب ػَبىَِبً ال‬ٝ
ٍ‫ ٍُذَََذٍ َٗآهِ ٍُذَََذ‬َٚ‫صَوِ ػَي‬
ُٔ ُ‫ ٍَب أَّذَ إَْٔي‬ِٜ‫ٗافْؼَوْ ث‬
ِِٔ‫ سَعُ٘ى‬َٚ‫ اىئَُ ػَي‬َٚ‫َٗصَي‬
ِِٔ‫َِ ٍِِْ آى‬ٍِٞ‫َب‬ََْٞ‫َٗاألَئََِخِ اى‬
ً‫شا‬ِٞ‫َبً مَث‬ِٞ‫َٗعَيٌََ رَغْي‬
