Think of a person or people you know with traditional lifestyles. Write about these people. Write
about what they look like. Tell how their lives are different. Tell what they have and what they
don’t have.
People who live in remote Romanian villages usually have traditional lifestyles. With the
habit of working in teams and being helpful to one another, villagers usually earn their living from
farming, raising livestock and making handicrafts. They work, celebrate and live, without the
interference of modern technology, in a manner their ancestors would recognise.
Their villages, situated in the far distance of big cities, still keep the specific landscape of
traditional villages and the lifestyle of local people seems unchanged for hundreds of years.
We still encounter here traditional houses which are made out of mud and grass, and are
very basic. Sometimes there is no electricity, no running water.
Work in the villages is hard given the locals use their own strength or animals instead of
tractors, quad bikes and machines. People still use rudimentary horse and carts with the only
concession to modernity in the form of pneumatic tyres.
Children usually help around the house or play alongside the road with friends or siblings.
There are very few cars as villagers mainly travel by foot or by driving horses and carts.
The locals are preserving life almost exactly how it was many hundreds of years ago,
maintaining traditions and wearing traditional clothing as part of their ceremonies. Music and
dancing also play a major role in the culture of the villagers in these remote regions.
In the countryside you can immerse yourself into a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere
surrounded by amazingly refreshing landscape. Crossing the small roads in the peaceful villages,
you can see more shade of green than ever and for sure you will fall in love with this simple beauty.
In fact, the countryside is one of the most desirable places in which you can relax despite not
having tall buildings, modern hotels and restaurants.
Their simplicity shows us that life can be lived in many ways and different conditions, and
happiness is found in us and not into the things that are around us.
