Parts and Materials List (v2 08/03/2019) ENG201 “Warman competition” Project 2019

Electrical components
 Arduino Uno will be supplied

 Up to $100 worth of additional electronics parts or sensors from


o Core Electronics https://core-electronics.com.au/) or
o Littlebird Electronics (https://www.littlebird.com.au/)
– note deadline for request submission is end of week 4.

 Batteries: Batteries will be provided for use in the competition

 Miscellaneous components including wires, connectors, resistors, capacitors, push buttons,


switches, MOSFETs, etc., are available from the electronics workshop

Mechanical materials and components:


 Aluminium sheet, nominal size 600 x 600 x 1 mm.
(Assume grade is 5005 H34, with estimated properties being:
yield stress = 95 MPa, ultimate stress = 120 MPa, Young’s modulus E = 69 GPa.)

 You may use part of your $100 electrical budget to obtain mechanical supplies from “Brierley Hose
& Handling” https://www.brierleyhose.com.au/
– note deadline for request submission is end of week 4.

 Limited 3D printing of small parts may be done by the civil/mechanical workshop from an Inventor
STL file that you supply – liaise with workshop staff regarding capacity and printer materials
available.

 Limited use of other items from the workshop

o “plastic round bar” as stocked by the mechanical workshop
o Rubber
o Other miscellaneous items

 Blind (pop) rivets: “Zeneth open aluminium 4.3”, 3.2 mm diameter (use 3.3 mm diameter holes),
4.8 mm grip length – for other sizes see civil/mechanical workshop staff
 3 and 5mm diameter bolts for bolted connections will be supplied.
