Downtown renovations
The location of 504 2nd Avenue South in downtown
Glasgow is getting an exterior facelift. Down
came United Insurance & Realty’s awning as well
as the KLTZ-KLAN neon sign that Shirley Trang
says has been hanging around since the early
90s (thus the front page “tears”). At right in the
Genie lift is Mike Brown of Brown Construction,
in the bucket is Josh Sand of Sand Electric, and
at right is Jon Bengochea of United Insurance &
Realty. The Aune Masonry crew was out bright
and early this morning (actually it wasn’t very
bright out) and the brick dust was flying by 7:30.
The building is owned by Jon and his wife Erika
and in the past couple of years has had some
interior remodeling as well as a roof job. “We’re
here to stay,” Jon said of their investments. Below
is Shirley once again with “Live Under the Big
Sky” voices Stan Ozark and Haylie Shipp. The
sign was packed up the stairs into KLTZ/KLAN
Studios for permanent display (if they can find a
spot between all that Elvis memorobilia!).
