The Greatest Business Opportunity for High Schoolers

With the an ever increasing number of e-commerce stores, it may seem like all

shopping may one day be completely done online. In fact nowadays any kid with a

phone and a basic idea of how business’ works can develop a successful website. This

is exactly what intrigues me. Teenagers of my generation practically live on their

technology and I see this as an opportunity to start a business. Anytime there is a large

pool of people there exists a potential for someone to use that as a tool to attract

attention. I have always been interested in the idea of entrepreneurship and managing a

business. However, adding a twenty first century electronic twist truly causes my

imagination to run wild with ideas. I have invested a lot of my personal time into

researching the basics of this idea and even applied to business school at several

colleges all in the effort of pursuing this passion.

Excitement and joy are the first two emotions that come to mind. I want to love

my future where I can by the boss of a cutting edge dynamic company not stuck in a

dead end career that I do not enjoy. I think the field of e-commerce is a new fast paced

market that has a large impact on ordinary people's lives. However I also think there are

some large risks that must be understood before someone attempts to conquer this field.

I truly believe visionary teenagers have the potential and cleverness to solve problems

and create extraordinary things that some adults are not even aware of. This can take

many forms and e-commerce entrepreneurship is one of them. I already know this

unique niche in business exists. I also know the different business models people use

and how different people attract different audiences with different products using

different advertisement.

Even though I know the basics of how an ordinary teenager can create a

business I still don't know every step along the journey. I would like to know what tactics

some people use to make them more successful than others. I would also like to know

how having business experience when a person is young can set them up for success in

the future.
